Princess Jacinda is thrilled to be out from under watchful eyes and on her very own adventure. But when the lamp she’s sent to retrieve attracts the attention of a sexy stranger who ignites her body and reveals a hidden world she thought only existed in storybooks, she must choose who and what to believe.
Alád never expected to be racing into a world where it seems time stopped long ago to escape assassins and hidden plots—especially not with a princess in tow. But after seducing her one night in order to get his hands on the lamp, he wants more of her.
Working together, they must solve the puzzle of the lamp and those who are after it — villains bent on harnessing its power to turn the world into a dark, unhappy place — and resolve other personal issues in order to find their happily ever after.
I like the style in which this book was written. The authors's writing was crisp and unadorned, but yet had enough individuality to give me a little glimpse of her style of writing, and her way of thinking about her characters. The sex scenes were great! Loved those! That being said, I do think there was a little too much emphasis on the sex scenes and not enough on the storyline. I would've liked more backstory about Alad - more information about how he came to be in this magical world - and how he came to acquire his role in this realm. I also wanted more information about Jacinda and Nazir. The lamp was purported to possess supreme power, but details of the lamp's power were never really explained. We understood that those who sought it, we're seeking it to rule others, but more backstory and more information about the lamp, it's magic, and it special powers would have made the story more well-rounded. All in all, though, a nice quick read, with delicious sex scenes!
A sexy, special agent. A beautiful, astute princess. A formidable villain who everyone loves to hate. Twisted Temptation succeeds as a wickedly clever and satisfyingly sexy retelling of the beloved fairy tale, Aladdin. The story twists and turns at a perfect pace, taking the reader on a magical ride through sexy town. This scorching debut from Phoebe Chase will have you pleasantly reading way past your bedtime.
Princess Jacinda has been sent to St. Louis to retrieve a lamp, Alad must get his on the lamp but they both will have to work together to solve the puzzle of the lamp and stop the villains bent on harassing the power of the lamp to turn the world to a dark unhappy place in this erotic fairy tale romance. The danger and excitement escalates when Alad and Jascinda escape from one enemy right into the hands of another and there are several surprising elements to keep the reader on their toes. The blending of a medieval and present timeline continues to add spice and an intriguing ambiance to the story and I can’t wait to read the next story in this bewitching series of twisted fairy tales.
Read other books in this series and felt more immersed in the plot and characters than this installment. Storyline seemed secondary to the sexual encounters which left me less invested in the story overall.
Great twist on the classic story, very fast paced and no dull spots. Great mix of erotica and gripping story. Very well written and great character development. Loved the pop culture references. Looking forward to reading more from Phoebe Chase. *****
