The First Son Of Man
Cain murdered his brother. God did not kill him. He Marked him.
Before kingdoms. Before empires. Before history learned to hide its monsters, Cain became something the living were never meant to understand: an immortal wanderer carrying a curse that grows stronger with time.
The First Son of Man is a bold biblical reimagining and mythic retelling that stretches from the earliest pages of Genesis to a ruined, end-of-the-world future where humanity survives in the shadows and the children of the Mark hunt beneath a sky that no longer promises dawn.
Haunted by sunlight. Driven by hunger. Torn between rebellion and the faint echo of something once holy, Cain walks through millennia watching civilizations rise, corrupt themselves, and fall.
What does immortality cost a soul that still remembers God?
When the world finally collapses into apocalypse, a mysterious man named Angelus appears, carrying a burden that may redeem mankind or end it forever.
“A creative retelling that melds fantasy with well known biblical stories. A compelling story of trickery, revenge, and redemption. Cain presents with a surprising depth and range of emotion that feels all too human.”
The BookLife Prize by Publishers Weekly
#1 Best Seller in Brazil
Perfect for readers who love biblical fiction, apocalyptic fiction, religious fiction, mythic retellings, philosophical horror, and morally complex characters, this is not a traditional vampire story. It is a dark, prophetic epic about the first curse and the last days of humanity.

About the author
P.E.N. Bortolotti
11 books9 followersP. E. N. Bortolotti is a Brazilian author and member of the British Fantasy Society whose speculative fiction explores the collision of faith, myth, and human nature. His books have reached #1 Amazon bestseller status in Brazil.
He is known for blending biblical mythology, speculative fantasy, and philosophical dark fiction into stories that challenge the boundaries between faith, immortality, and moral consequence.
His narratives move beyond traditional fantasy and horror into the realm of mythic retellings and biblical speculative fiction, where ancient scripture collides with apocalyptic futures and deeply human dilemmas.
His novel The First Son of Man received recognition from The BookLife Prize by Publishers Weekly and was praised for its creative reimagining of biblical themes and philosophical depth.
In this prophetic epic, he reimagines the curse of Cain as an immortal lineage spanning from Genesis to the end of the world, dissolving the boundary between the sacred and the monstrous.
Rather than traditional vampire fiction, his stories weave scripture, myth, and gothic atmosphere into philosophical journeys about evil, eternity, and redemption.
His books are written for readers who seek more than entertainment, readers searching for meaning beneath the darkness and reflection within the fantastic.

A story that should not exist, but somehow does.
I was not expecting this story to go where it went.
It starts familiar, almost biblical, almost historical… and then slowly becomes something else entirely.
There is a strange feeling while reading it, as if you are witnessing time itself passing through the eyes of someone who should not exist.
It’s uncomfortable in a good way. Thought-provoking. Dark. Different.
This is the kind of book you don’t read for entertainment only, but for the experience.

The First Son of Man reimagines Cain as an immortal witness to humanity's slow apocalypse. Blending biblical mythology with speculative horror, it explores cursed immortality, moral consequence, and the burden of eternal memory in a world that forgets. Philosophical, atmospheric, and deeply unsettling, a mythic retelling that wrestles with faith, guilt, and what it means to outlive redemption.

Recomendo!
