Jake is the director of an upcoming movie titled Skye's the Limit and he is basically forced to accept Star Davis as the leading role. He really doesn't want to have her star in his movie for a couple reasons. One: she has been in trouble with the law and is a spoiled diva. Two: he's known as a serial womanizer.

When Jake sees Star he obviously notices her beauty and is taken aback by it. No one knows until late in the book that he is (view spoiler)

Star Davis. Beautiful, talented, and just out of rehab. She’s been given a second (or third, depending on how you look at it) chance at catapulting her career by being the new lead in an upcoming movie. Problem is, the director wants nothing to do with her…and that’s a problem because all of her old tricks at getting what she wants won’t work on Jake Wild.

“And although I wasn’t aware of it then, I was as vulnerable as Marilyn when I walked out of that clinic and stepped—in my Cho

What an EXCELLENT start to a new series! The story totally grabbed me from the start. I can already tell from this first installment that I’m going to LOVE this series by Arianne Richmonde.

Star Davis is a 19 year old actress; she’s been acting since the age of two and has already won an Oscar.

It seems I've been caught up in an undercurrent of short novellas for the last several weeks. Arianne Richmonde's short intro novella to her new "Beautiful Chaos" series definitely left its impact on me. She hooked me and left me craving more. I love the dynamics of her writing skills. She paints the picture clear -- there are no blurred lines. Readers get the whole shebang in this Hollywood mover and shaker. Both lead characters carry ugly histories and putting them both in the same fish bowl i ...more

Meet two dysfunctional products of Hollywood.
Star Davis and Jake Wild: they’ve met their match.

19-year-old, Oscar winning Star Davis is an A-list movie star. Hell-raisingly beautiful, she tosses men aside like used Kleenex. She commands 20 million per movie—or at least did until drugs, alcohol, wild partying, and a police arrest sent her kicking and screaming into rehab.

Now she’s out, squeaky clean, and determined to win the role she was born to play: the lead in Skye’s The Limit—ready to re-con

I was given a ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I have been waiting a very long time for something new from Ari and she did NOT disappoint. From the very start your attention is caught and it remains there until the very end. We meet Star a girl who has had a shitty past and has been going through a lot and she wants to change her image. She wants the role of Skye and she will do everything to get it and let no one stand in her way. We meet Jake a bitter and wild director who has his doubts a

4.5 SKYE'S THE LIMIT STARS!

Shooting Star is a fast paced story that will “hook” you from the very first page. This story mostly revolves around the characters, Star Davis and Jake Wilde. Star is a Hollywood actress best known for her outrageous acts, usually ending up in all the tabloids. She has a problem with drug/alcohol addiction but hopes her new clean act, along with landin

The characters may have been 2 dysfunctional people but the story as a whole is far from that. Everything in this story just adds up.

Star as her name suggests is a "star". She gets what she wants and she'll do just about everything to get it. I like her character from the beginning -- a girl trying to live a normal life. She knows where she stands.

Jake Wilder as his name suggests is "wild". He may be born with a golden spoon, but everything that he

I have read everything by Arianne and was anxiously waiting for something new from her. She did not disappoint.
The story grabs your attention from the first page and won't let you go until you're at the end.
Star is a young girl with a troubled past, trying to make a change. Star wants the part of Skye in the next Hollywood movie by Jake Wilde, and she will do anything to get it.
Jake is a film director with a crazy lifestyle and a love for women, which is no secret. He is unhappy about Star being

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

This was a quick, sexy read that I couldn't put down once I started it. Normally I don't relate to a lot of characters that are under 20 (or even early 20s) so I hesitated going into this story. To my surprise, I loved Star. Then again I love the way Arianne has always been able to suck the reader in to her stories and make you want to know more.

Jake is equally as messed up as Star. Both grew up in the limelight

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

This is the first in three novellas, so don't expect the story to be complete - it is an introduction and taste of the heat to come (I hope!) We have the scene set up with the two main protagonists, Star and Jake. Cleverly as they are manipulated in the present, we get to see how much they are a product of their environment and background. Any freedom they have is illusory at best, and this has caused them to make poor cho

How can Star make her life shine

Star needing or really wanting this part of Skye she knew she woould have to work. Jake didn't want a rehab brat for his movie. This was a big chance for him. Both were messed up from drugs alcohol and sex. Jake saw it all her eyes. Now the suits say she has to stay in his home for protection. But who was going to protect him from this underage tease. She knew everything she was doing and that she was the biggest tease because she was Star

Deceptive read

Makes one wonder if the life of movie stars and the very wealthy actually live this way. Yet the read does show values and to some degree respect, even if it's twisted.
Luann Louttit
The story is okay however this author abruptly ended the tale and turned what could be a good book into a trilogy of very short books. When I got the first two, they were free. The story isn't compelling enough for me to purchase the third part. Not worth the time and effort.

Star has something to prove coming out of rehab but Jake does not want her to be his leading actress but when they convince him he has to be the one to keep her out of harms way away from drugs and alcohol. But little do they know they have both met their match.

Is this a romance?

The story is not very cohesive. Additionally, Jake, the male lead, isn't kind and is irritating to listen to rant. Star's sobriety is over explained.

Meh

I kept hoping this would get better. It ended up teasing, having an obligatory "sex" scene then abruptly ended. Hmmm.

I love Arianne's take on the jaded world of Hollywood with Shooting Star. Star Davis is the current "hot mess" of the celebrity gossip world. Fresh out of rehab, she is looking to recapture her waning career with the part of a lifetime. Jake Wild is a British director with a wild past of his own. He is looking for the perfect actress for his lasted movie "Skye's the Limit". There is only one problem, that decision has been made for him and he is not happy about it. I enjoyed this. I will be the first to admit that I am not a fan of novellas but when I saw this was written by Arianne, I just knew I had to read it. I loved her Pearl series. Negatives:

1. Too short to be a trilogy - should be 1 book

2. Too much instaa-lust, no build-up or chemistry-laden "meet cute"

3. Star's character was slap-worthy ANNOYING. **DIVA ALERT**
After being released from rehab and vowing to change her life around and show the world she means business - I was hoping for a sophisticated, refined, and controlled character (she's an actress FFS how difficult would that be to manage??!!).
