S.L. Cook is an Emmy-award winning news and sports producer who enjoys discovering compelling stories. He has traveled extensively throughout his life to find them.
His career began as a Producer for NBC Nightly News and the Today show, living both in Los Angeles and New York for several years. After being hired away by CNN, he soon became the network’s Managing Editor in Los Angeles, where he oversaw and produced coverage during some of the most turbulent years in the city’s history, including the Rodney King beating, the subsequent trials of the police officers, and the 1992 riots. He also ran point on the massive Northridge earthquake, aswell as the heartbreaking and wide-ranging destruction from several turbulent fires and floods throughout southern California.
After returning to NBC to help coordinate coverage of the OJ Simpson trial, he was named a lead producer for the launch of Fox Sports News. From there followed several years as the Executive Producer for Sports at CBS in Los Angeles, the largest local broadcast department in the nation.
Along the way, he published short stories and Op-eds for various papers and sites around the country.
Today, he continues to produce television sports – when he’s not too busy writing, or working the stubborn kinks and aches out of a complaining and aging ex-ballplayer’s body.
His passion remains striving to present and tell stories with an unencumbered voice.

S.L. Cook does a fantastic job in writing this thriller novel. It had that element that I was looking for in this type of book. The overall concept worked well in this story and worked with the characters. The characters were everything that I was expecting and enjoyed the overall feel of this.

This was really good. I enjoyed the characters immensely. I hate to say it but some parts kind of dragged on for me BUT it's still a good story. It would be interesting to see a follow up story. I'd like to see what's up with Mason and Midas down the line. And Conor.
