I wanted to read "Draupadi" by Kajal Oza-Vaidya ever since I heard praise of it from Vimmy. I could have borrowed it but I wanted to have a copy of the same. And finally I got my copy and I read it in 4-5 sittings. I must say it's an implacable read.
Dhrupadi by Kajal Oza Vaidh is a Gujarati novel based on Mahabharat 's character Dhrupadi. This book is written in Draupadi's perspective of Mahabharat. What must have gone through her mind at that time and what was her opinion on Mahabharat's battle.
The book is written wonderfully. Though the book is written on an ancient character, still a modern day woman could also relate to it. Draupadi's friendship with Shree Krishna is also written impressively.
All I want to say is that in my opinion, every woman should read this book at least once. It is always an experience to read Kajal Oza's book.
Omg!!! I finally finished this book! Well I started the book once long ago and dropped as it was heavy but in the start of the year I finally decided to read this book by taking my own sweet time and oh yes I did!! 6 months, wow!! Anyway coming to this book, Kajal writes amazingly which shows her knowledge and well read ability to pick such topic. I enjoyed reading it though it was my 2nd mythological book. It was easy to understand. Mahabharat from Draupadi’s point of view that’s enough to sum it up! This book according to me was heavy so I took quite a bit but someone who’s interested and avid read about subject would I guess take lesser time!
I have always been fascinated by Draupadi. She has been so fearless and strong against the unfair situations arose and never settled for less. She had just asked for respect. She had to marry to five husbands and she tried to treat all of them equally and love them all despite having love for only one in her heart.
Wonderful book to understand krishna as well as to understand draupadi .
I like the way written plot draupadi s character and also draupadi s feelings ..her surrender to govind !! Thanks kajal oza vaidya for such a wonderful creation !!
