“So Many Men, So Little Time…”

After her younger sister is brutally raped, Millie Masters sets up a hotline for women who need help shaking off a man at a bar, or who feel unsafe walking home alone late at night: “Message M”

Even on Mondays, there is always a call for help…

And, Millie is “on call” to rescue you.

But as her sister continues to become a shell of her former self, Millie becomes more and more OBSESSED with vengeance! She may be called a quitter when it comes to work, hobbies, relationships and diets, but not when it comes to MURDER.

She has decided that she needs to find and punish the man, that the police have failed to locate-her sister’s attacker.

Not since “Jane Doe” (Victoria Helen Stone) have I had as much fun reading about (and rooting for) a diabolical female serial killer.

Though obviously what women endure far too frequently is not at all funny, the story is filled with witty and sarcastic observations and fierce and loyal female relationships. The OVER THE TOP story shouldn’t be taken too seriously and just enjoyed for what it is-a deliciously DARK, and entertaining revenge 🍿 thriller!

Although I am not sure that I COMPLETELY loved the resolution, I did enjoy the ride, made even more fun by it being a buddy read for the New Year with Ceecee and DeAnn!

It started to feel just a little bit long, so 3.75 rounded up to 4 stars ⭐️

TW: Rape, Sexual Assault, Incest, and one brief mention of a kitty 🐱 hit by a car which helped fuel Millie’s hatred of men.

writing: meh | plot: uhh ?? | ending: ABSOLUTELY TF NOT LMAO

my opinion

Another feminist serial killer thriller, another lukewarm rating. Similar to Bad Men, this formula just ain't hitting the way it should be. Why does the FMC have to be so unlikeable? Just because she's a killer, doesn't mean her personality needs to be insufferable. It's not "morally grey" to cut down other women while simultaneously claiming feminism is what's driving her murderous tendencies. The grey part is you killing, it shouldn't be your selective feminism. Give me a FMC heart of gold who loves her friends, knits turtlenecks of dogs and hairless cats, and rides a pink bike with a basket on the front, who just happens to take down a creepo once in awhile. Thanks.

I know titles are often chosen without reading the book (whack) but every chapter should've been titled one of the 10 ways to kill a guy. Anyways, at least this one had a lot of killing, but there was also too much yappity yap in between. At times it felt like you asked a lonely old man if he needed help carrying his groceries and instead he told you an uncomfortable tale about falling in love with his Filipina nanny whilst being married.

Speaking of yappity yap.... James? The love interest and detective???????? Bro FIRE HIM. Idc if he makes Spencer Reid look like a commoner, he couldn't keep a secret even if you sewed his mouth shut. In that case, he'd just learn morse code. He's gonna gossip one way or another.

It was a fine enough read until the last third. Then shit really went off the rails. I can't get into it without spoilies so here we go...

SPOILERS ALERT. SCROLL DOWN TO BOTTOM.

Millie is determined to find the man who raped her sister and starts hunting him down based on a few descriptions her sister dropped: red curtains in his room, Magpie tatt on his chest, bald. Millie finds a man who fits her sister's description AND has red curtains. Time to rock right? WRONG. She sees the edges of a tatt peeking out from his collar, but never confirms it's a magpie. But that doesn't stop her from frying him like an egg in his bathtub and then being like oh my B... not only was it the wrong tatt, but he wasn't even in the same continent on the day of the rape. Instead of taking responsibility for fucking up, she shrugs and thinks "well, rando women are picked off everyday, who cares if it happens to a man." .....?????

After deep frying an innocent bald man (btw, all the bad men were fat and bald), she kills an innocent witness during a lil break-in. Annoying. But what really knocked this down to a two star was the ending with James. WTF?????? So James gives her an opportunity to turn herself in, and she responds by RUNNING HIM OVER and then her lawyer friend FRAMES HIM FOR MILLIE'S PREVIOUS MURDERS????????? All the man is guilty of is having a horrible taste in women and the discretion of a baby taking a shit. He did NOT deserve to be pancaked by his Merc and then framed ????? And then Millie gets a HEA by running away with her bestie? The only way I would support this ending was if she hadn't killed any innocent men AND hadn't framed James. This was blasphemous.

SPOILERS DONE.

In conclusion: whomp whomp.

pros & cons

pros: love the cover, intriguing premise, quick read

cons: Millie was terrible–being a killer was the least problematic thing about her, TERRIBLE ending (for once I do NOT support women's wrongs), lots of yappity yap

So! Much! Fun!

Millie Masters is a woman with a plan to help protect other women from the many predators that walk the streets and breathe the air around us.

It hasn't always been this way. You see, Millie's sister Kate was raped while out on New Years Eve. Since then she has quit school, stopped eating, and rarely leaves her childhood bedroom. Millie can not accept that some filthy predator has extinguished her sisters internal flame leaving her fragile and broken.

Millie decides she will start a hotline in which she posts in several ladies restrooms of pubs and restaurants throughout the city. You just need to call her whenever a guy gets out of line, gets creepy, gets far too friendly, or all of the above. She'll swoop in to save the day.

What started out innocently enough quickly turns homicidal. Millie simply will not put up with this anymore and she vows to give these men her own brand of justice - death.

"People make their own beds in which to lie, and I won't be judged for tucking them in at night.

Oh how I loved Millie. Cynical, snarky, and everything I adore in a fictional character. A murderess with a heart. There are obviously heavy themes discussed in this book but with the dark humor (think Dexter) throughout, the book never feels too dreary or depressing. The ending was perfection! 👌 4 stars!

A satirically clever twist on a female serial killer thriller. Quirky characters and absurd situations lighten the mood on some darker themes. I certainly appreciated the main character's resourcefulness. This book is a hoot. Thanks to AvonBooksUK Harper Collins and the author for a complimentary finished copy of this book.

trigger warnings: murder, self-harm, child abuse, depression, domestic abuse, suicide attempts, stalking, drink spiking, rape, sexual assault, incest

'how to kill a guy in ten ways' is a dark and unhinged book on killing a guy in ten ways.

i'm only joking. sort of.

i have very mixed feelings about this book. on the one hand, it's about a woman going on a killing spree as she very calmly tries to find the man who raped her sister. on the other hand, that was not what i was told in the blurb.

millie was an incredibly unlikeable character. she wasn't always a girl's girl: her comments on tattoos and piercings were unnecessary and awful and she implied lots of things about women wearing short dresses, which was especially awful considering that this was a self-proclaimed book about feminism. she made some really stupid decisions but at least she killed sucky men?

the romance was ... not it. the idea was so much more interesting than what actually took place (i haven't read it yet, but it reminded me of the premise of mindf*ck). it was supposed to be this doomed-to-fail relationship between the police officer with all the dancing with our hands tied, getaway car, gorgeous and midnight rain vibes but it didn't work. there was no tension and chemistry and it didn't feel too realistic either. (and yes, i realise this isn't marked as a romance, but why have a romance sub-plot if it's not a good one?)

the ending was just horrendous. it was supposed to be her blaze of glory but it should have just been an untold story.

i think i like how the cover makes sense, although after reading this book, i don't i'll be sure about anything ever again.

thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for my honest thoughts!

"How to Kill a Guy in Ten Ways" is a darkly hilarious and socially relevant book about vigilante justice, led by Millie Masters, who is committed to protect women from predatory men. She starts this hotline, Message M, to help out girls who feel unsafe, but things escalate real quick when she decides murder might be the best solution to deal with repeat offenders. Kellman did amazing job with combining comedy and important social commentary, with Millie's relentless pursuit of justice.

But in spite of its intriguing premise, the book has trouble keeping up with the pace, especially in the middle when the story gets overtaken by a lot of detail and too many characters. The story's overall impact is diminished by its recurrent themes and dull middle sections.

Even while Millie has a fascinating personality, her critical and aloof attitude make it hard to like her, especially with her interactions with her sister and closest friend. However, the book is successful in depicting Millie's slow spiral into obsession and provides a nuanced view of her complicated mental state. As readers are dragged farther into her world of unclear morals and revenge, the novel becomes more tense as her sanity slowly unravels.

This was really interesting read, I would recommend it for readers who like unconventional books with strong female characters.

Got bad vibes about the guy you are with? Your solution and hopefully rescue from a potentially bad situation is to Message M. That would be Millie Masters who sets up the message line after her much loved younger sister. Katie, is raped last New Year’s Eve. However, bear in mind that message M is remarkably close to Dial M for Murder… Revenge might just be on the cards.

As the title suggests this novel is not necessarily going to be pretty but it is darkly funny, and despite what she does, the author managers to make Millie likeable whilst your jaw thunders to the floor at some of what she does. It is like watching a car crash in slo-mo at times (apt), but you can’t lift your eyes from the pages as you are horribly “entertained”. Whilst I don’t advocate what Millie does, the anger at her sisters suffering and the weakness and lack of justice via the law drives this and creates a powerful message from the pages.

This is well written, it is full of darkly funny statements or a strong sense of irony or underplaying what has transpired. There are some good descriptions of creepy characters and with a few well chosen phrases the sleazebags are there in front of us. Millie, whilst she is full of anger and more, she can be reckless and there are several whoops moments (I’m the one underplaying here) but she is also perceptive and her love for her sister shines through it all. Her willingness to put herself on the line to help those in trouble via Message M is admirable. What you learn towards the end delivers a terrible shock and you understand her better and the obsession with her brand of justice.

The pace and delivery of the novel is fast, there is never a dull moment and it turns into a buckle up, twisty ride. There are multiple moments of suspense and tension, there are some jaw dropping light bulb moments and clues I should have picked up much earlier and I kick myself. The situation then becomes clearer as it escalates to a tense and very dramatic ending.

Despite the fact this is dark there are moments where your heart breaks at its core this is a story about love and ok, revenge. I love the fact that the author has created a strong female lead character who is taking back the streets, pubs, clubs and for that I cheer her on but it shouldn’t be necessary should it?

An entertaining read with a serious message beneath the darkly funny.

With thanks to NetGalley and especially to Avon Books for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.

Text M… yes M… Our girl Millie will come to your rescue. She will remove you from the situation… get you home safe… and sometimes.. just sometimes 😬…she will take care of your “problem.” M doesn’t just stand for Millie… it also stands for MURDER. 🤷‍♀️🤔

This was wickedly dark.. snarky and FUN… well in a murdery kind of way. 😂 Don’t get me wrong.. there was some dark subject matter that may be disturbing. I must admit I was a bit worried about our girl…but that ending… 😳🤯… PERFECTION.👏👏

I was so excited when I saw the description for this book on Netgalley as I absolutely loved, "How to Kill Men and Get Away With It" by Katy Brent and "Bad Men" by Julie Mae Cohen so I thought this book would be similar. The only similarities is that the main character, Millie was a killer. However, she was also the worst. She was not clever, cunning, or charming. I never was on her side or rooting for her throughout the book. The beginning of the book she spends most of the time basically hating on everything. She hates her friends, she hates maternity photo shoots, she hates prom, she hates tattoos (this rant went on for several pages), she hates her neighbor, she hates old people, she hate her job... the book reads as someone trying so hard to be cool by hating on everything and everyone. It is really hard to believe that she actually runs a hotline to save women from predators because she hates other women so much.

All of her killings are so sloppy and unrealistic. She never thinks anything through, she doesn't account for cameras, she doesn't wear gloves, and she is always drunk. She discusses her father's drinking but doesn't really make the connection that she also an alcoholic. She is not likeable at all so I was really hoping she would just get caught in the end or die in the fire but no, she frames the brown man. My goodness. He was the only man kind to her in this whole book and he goes down for her crimes and she just gets to live with no consequences for her actions. It all wrapped up so quickly and neatly that is not realistic at all. I do not know if all of it was supposed to be satire and I just didn't get the joke but I just did not like it.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

This was absolutely brilliant. I know it's only March, but this is hands down in my top 5 books of the year already. We have a female serial killer with dark humor and highly relatable female rage? I'm all the way here for it. There wasn't one moment that I wasn't rooting for Millie, our FMC. This book can get dark, so be sure to check out the trigger warnings before you pick it up.

Trigger warnings: rape, child sexual assault, suicide, self-harm, domestic violence, semi-graphic murder

Many thanks to the author, NetGalley, and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Expected publication date of March 28, 2024.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Millie has a hotline for women to call when they need help getting away from a man at a bar or don’t feel safe walking home alone. She has flyers up in pub bathrooms that tell the women to “Message M.” But then she ends up killing a man while helping a woman escape. She realizes that M can also stand for murder…

In fiction, I’m a big fan of vigilantes. Two of my favorite superheroes—Green Arrow and Batman—are vigilantes. So, a book where the main character is a serial killer who kills men who drug, harass, and sexually assault women is right up my alley, but the main character is very judgmental of pretty much everyone, and it made me not really like her at times. Despite that, it was a wild ride of a story and the plot did entertain me.

His high quality audio deals with highly sensitive complex harrowing issues including date rape and Murder. Its told by the main character in a clever manner which provides and prokes emotion despite the tongue in cheek dialogue . Its powerful and sadly the events are true to the world we live in. I cared about what happened to the main character and the men was just not worthy.
Thank you so much for this s highly entertaining and enjoyable listen. Loved every monute. Due it to its subject nature it might be good to have a warning.

EDIT: I came back to this book because my review on NetGalley was flagged for "spoilers". I use the quotes because it just so happens I'm the only one star review and even though all my reviews are written in the same way that this one is, I've never been flagged for spoilers before. Makes you wonder.
Anyway. When I read the book, the synopsis ended after "Message M" and had nothing else, hence why I said the synopsis was misleading. I stand by what I said below, as the hotline isn't mentioned anywhere near as much as you're made to think. However, it is nice that they added more to it now so it isn't AS misleading.
I suppose I could put a spoiler warning, but anything mentioned in my review are very minor plot points that I would have liked to know about myself before reading the book. Nothing pertaining to the mystery or major plot points of the book are spoiled.

Keep reading for the review that got me flagged! :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This synopsis is EXTREMELY misleading; it seems like it's all about the message M hotline and getting revenge for people who call the hotline, but it's a very minor plot point. The book is actually about a terrible, judgmental, and unlikable character named Millie and her mission to find the man who raped her sister.
I'm all for a badass female taking matters into her own hands, but this wasn't it. Millie was AWFUL. The rude and judmental things that came out of her mouth made me cringe in second hand embarrassment and hate her more and more with every comment. The comments about tattoos and body modifications were so out of left field and disgusting, just as an example.
The way she treated her boss, Rick, was also absolutely terrible. He was never anything but nice and respectful to her, and she took it and spit on it. This is his business, his entire life, and she had no remorse for being a terrible employee. “It's not my fault I had a late night and couldn't get up in the morning!" Um... yes, it literally is.
I understand Millie had an awful and traumatizing childhood, and I of course felt for her, but it doesn't make me dislike her as a person any less.
The events of the book are because Millie's sister was attacked, but all she really does is go visit her sometimes? If she had put even a small percentage of the energy she used trying to find her attacker on truly trying to find Katie help, she could have started making improvements shortly after the attack happened. I know everyone is different, but why didn't anyone try harder to get Katie to therapy or something? It seemed like they just let her retreat to her room and fall deeper into depression.
The "twist" was so predictable that I had it figured out from the beginning. I don't know how anyone, especially Millie, couldn't have seen it coming.
With all of this said, I was going to give the book two or maybe even three stars anyway, but then the ending happened. I'm so disgusted by the ending that I wish I had never even picked the book up.
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the ARC.
5/5.
this might just be a contender for my book of the year.
between the sharp, witty quips at the state of mankind and the self-deprecating humour that somehow both softens and starkly illuminates the (frankly quite dark and gory) crimes that our main character, Millie, commits, this is every woman’s dream revenge plot come to life. high five to the ladies for this masterpiece
How To Kill A Man In Ten Ways centers on our heroine, Millie who works a dead-end job at a frame shop by day and works a vigilante hotline called Message M by night, rescuing women in dangerous situations with men. The Messenger M hotline was started after Millie's little sister Katie was brutally raped and became a shell of her former self.
The accidental death of a man from whom Millie is rescuing a drugged young woman leads to a dangerous new quest: Millie decides to hunt her sister's attacker and kill him, too.
Along the way, a few other not so good men (and one who may be innocent) end up dead. As Katie spirals and ends up in the hospital, Millie steps up the pace of her hunt. Will she find her target before it's too late for Katie?
Much like My Sister The Serial Killer, I didn't read this book aa satire or dark humor. Instead, it was quite clear to me that Millie had PTSD and other severe mental and emotional trauma from what happened to her sister and also from whatever may have happened in her own past. Her own downward spiral escalated as the book progressed. It made me sad, but her vengeance along rhe way was also satisfying and her rage was understanable.
I also loved Millie's friendship with Nina!
Content Warnings: Rape, Drink Spiking/Date Drugging, sexual exploitation, self-harm, attempted suicide, child abuse, child sexual abuse, child neglect and emotional abandonment, depression, trauma, ptsd and other mental health crises, stalking, sexual assault, incest, murder (sometimes vwry graphic)
Title: How to Kill a Guy in Ten Ways
Author: Eve Kellman
Genre: Thriller
Media: ebook
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
—————————
Favorite quote: N/A
Sum of this book in 5 words or less: So many hard topics.
—————————
Themes: child abuse, child neglect, sexual abuse, parental abuse, rape, murder, on page murder, hit and run, falling (heights), on page snorting of drugs, rohyponol
—————————
Thoughts:
I received a free ebook in exchange for an honest review.
Short summary - After her sister is raped, Millie sets up a new number for women to message on when they feel unsafe. One night everything changes from just helping women get away to murder.
Honestly, I liked this book. There was a little bit of dark humor in it and that always makes books a little better. I wish that Millie and James would have had more dates and that we would have gotten to see more of their relationship. I liked the fact that there was a serial killer and detective vibe but I am sad that it kinda fell flat for me due to them only going on a handful of dates.
There are some absolutely brutal topics in this book and I believe that it needs a trigger warning list. I figured there should probably be some on the page murder, but Millie’s own rape as a child was very on page also. That topic can be difficult to discuss especially if you come from an abusive background yourself, and especially coming from a parental figure.
Millie committed so many murders during this book and I applaud her for getting some of those men off the streets - especially when the justice system won’t take them down. I was rooting for her and I really wanted James & her to work out even after she ran him over with her car.
✨ "People make their own beds in which to lie, and I won't be judged for tucking them in at night."
3.5⭐️
So many mixed feelings! I was really into this because who doesn't love a good femrage thriller?
I loved the premise and morally grey protagonist, though the middle dragged a little. However, it all got too much after a certain point and I couldn't get onboard with some of Millie's actions. The fact that she never suffered consequences was hard to get past too. Loved the ending nevertheless and overall this was an enjoyable read.
Started off GREAT but got kinda messy towards the end — don’t get me wrong, I had a good time reading this, but generally finishing a story about a female serial killer killing horrible men seems so hard… Like how do you even pull that together… Not like this though ! The feminism was so strong at the beginning but then it just went full circle and the FMC actually became hella misogynistic 🙃
How To Kill A Guy In Ten Ways is the first novel by British author, Eve Kellman. Millie Masters wonders if working her helpline, Message M, might be her way doing penance for failing to protect her younger sister, Katie, who was raped on New Year’s Eve. That awful act transformed the outgoing young woman with a place at Durham Uni into a cringing introvert who has spent the last nine months hiding in her bedroom.
By day, Millie is a framer at Picture This; by night, she’s a vigilante, rescuing young women from dates gone wrong or sleazy bothersome men. She can’t reverse what happened to Katie but she can try to stop it happening to others.
When, during one of these rescues, she ends up (sort of accidentally) killing the guy, she’s shocked and a little sickened, but is eventually able to rationalise removing this scum, caught degrading a young woman he had drugged, from the earth. She covers her tracks well and finds she’s apparently gotten away with it. The next two or three are a bit easier: they, too, deserved it.
But dating the dishy guy who has come in for some framing, when she learns he’s a homicide detective, is probably not the smartest thing, although it might give her the opportunity to subtly check if her activities are on the police radar.
As Katie’s mental and physical health deteriorates, Millie comes to believe only one thing will help her: Millie will have to track down the man who attacked her sister, and take him out. And her best friend, Nina’s new boyfriend could also use some attention. She’s getting quite obsessed, and the late nights are having a deleterious effect on her daytime job: her employer loses his patience.
Then she makes a huge mistake. Does it slow her down? Not really. With a bit of mental gymnastics, she can justify what she’s done. But with her body count at five, then six and seven, she’s bound to attract some notice…
Even when it takes a rather dark turn, Kellman’s debut is often blackly funny. And the resolution? She may get her man, but not all the innocent will come away unscathed. More from this author will be eagerly anticipated.
Millie is at war with the scumbags and baddies out there. She has turned vigilante and wants justice for her sister and friends. Some parts of the book were dark and some a little humorous. I did feel her character became unhinged. Not sure if I found her likable or unlikable. Overall it was an okay read for me.
Millie is een beschermer, iemand die met ‘App M.’ een taxiservice heeft opgezet om vrouwen uit onveilige situaties te halen, een heldhaftige, woedende en gefrustreerde vrouw die er niet voor terugdeinst om behoorlijk drastische maatregelen te nemen om mannen te laten boeten en ze betaald te zetten voor wat ze vrouwen hebben aangedaan. Een mannenhater? Welnee. Ze wantrouwt ze alleen allemaal, veroordeelt hun daden en als ze een man per ongeluk om het leven brengt en ermee weg lijkt te komen, zet dat een hele reeks ‘toevallige’ sterfgevallen in gang - maar ze verdienden het. Toch?
Je kruipt in het hoofd van Millie, een bijzondere vrouw die over alles en iedereen een mening heeft, erg achterdochtig is en zichzelf steeds verder in de nesten werkt terwijl ze telkens meer morele grenzen overschrijdt. Haar gedachtegang is intrigerend: ze kent vrijwel geen schuldgevoel, is overtuigd van de rechtvaardigheid van haar daden omdat ze op zoek is naar gerechtigheid en vergelding, ze werkt iedereen die haar ook maar enigszins dwars zit uit de weg en maakt regelmatig impulsieve, reactieve en onhandige beslissingen, waardoor ze nogal eens chaos veroorzaakt.
Toch is ze niet geheel onsympathiek: voor haar dierbaren gaat ze door het vuur en het wordt steeds duidelijker welke schuldgevoelens aan haar daden ten gronde liggen en hoe haar heftige jeugd haar heeft gevormd. Hoewel je haar daden natuurlijk niet kunt goedkeuren, wordt ze wel zo goed neergezet dat je enigszins begrijpt waarom ze doet wat ze doet, al komt de geloofwaardigheid wel steeds meer onder druk te staan als haar acties grotesker worden, ze fouten maakt en gebeurtenissen eerder absurd dan doordacht zijn.
Ondanks de duistere inhoud is de toon van dit verhaal verrassend luchtig en doorspekt met donkere humor en zit het boek vol ‘female rage’, actuele onderwerpen, onvoorwaardelijke steun en vriendschap, onverwachte handelingen en gevoelens, openbaringen en wendingen die je met Millie laten meeleven en je aandacht vasthouden. Houd jij van een humoristische en originele thriller vol dreiging, actie, opvallende hersenspinsels en turbulentie? Dan is dit ultieme wraakboek zeker een aanrader!
Ok you guys, I may have ended up at a 4/5 stars for How to Kill a Guy in Ten Ways by Eve Kellman, but that probably doesn't express how much joy I got from reading this book. You definitely have to suspend disbelief because there is no WAY Millie would have gotten away with everything she did, but if you love a good old-fashioned revenge story with serious girl power energy then you definitely need to read this. The friendship between Millie and her bestie Nina were #RelationshipGoals and gave me life as the story came to a close.
I did decide to listen to the audiobook, and I have to say Elisabeth Hopper killed her narration, no pun (maybe) intended. I don’t think I could have picked a better person to bring this book and its characters to life, so thank you to Elisabeth and whoever picked you! The acknowledgments are some of the funniest I have ever read, and I love Kellman’s sense of humor. This was such a well written, dark, and amusing debut and I can’t wait to see what this author does next!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
A dark and funny entry into the female serial killer genre, this book really grabbed my attention from the first chapter. Millie has a hotline called Message M for women who feel unsafe on a night out, which honestly sounds like a fantastic service. However, this all goes a bit sideways when this turns into actual murder.
I really enjoy a good female serial killer novel because there aren’t many of them in the genre (and in real life- or maybe they just don’t get caught!). Although Millie was frustrating at times, the author really still managed to make her likable to the point where I did want her to succeed. I also enjoyed her friend group, and the dynamic with her sister Katie.
It was a very enjoyable read, thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the copy!
I’m obsessed with how the author wrote the main character. It was actually a rollercoaster reading this. I loved how Millie just gets progressively more and more caught up and becomes more and more unhinged. I started this book rooting for Millie and slowly started to not root for her as much. I don’t know how to explain how much I loved the character development in this book.
