I did it again, now, didn't I? I sat for about 6 hours without moving (a lot...) having one short break (to eat something..) and returning back to my reading. I went to sleep at almost 4 a.m. with a huge smile on my face but with a nagging feeling that devouring this book in one day means its over. It's done. I read it and the beautiful thing that it was is now behind me. Who knows when Kristina will publish the next one, ha?

So what if I was lucky enough to be a part of this book’s “birthing” process? So what if I was lucky enough to comment and object and say “I don’t get it” while Kris was writing? (to be quite honest, watching her write is quite the experience, especially when you’re impatient for more and she NEEDS to go to Disneyland)

I’m sidetracking myself, so I’ll just give you my impression of this story.

I think it’s not necessary that I give you my version of the plot, so I’ll get right to business.

(to be quite honest, watching her write is quite the experience, especially when you’re impatient for more and she NEEDS to go to Disneyland)

I’m sidetracking myself, so I’ll just give you my impression of this story.

I think it’s not necessary that I give you my version of the plot, so I’ll get right to business.

When you take young woman who’s been through a trauma of losing her sister and never truly realizing what she missed, and you take a man who’s going through a trauma and coping with it all alone, after having suffered a great loss, and you throw in a pregnancy into the mix, you get a headache, right? Unless… someone who sees the whole story, the whole picture, all the little details that are factored into the plot and the lives of the characters and their friends – is the one actually writing it.

That’s what the author did. That’s what she does best. Taryn finds herself in a particularly difficult situation, and when she decides on a path, she changes the lives of almost everyone around her – in my opinion – for the better.

I consider this story completely Taryn’s, even if two additional significant characters are taking part in it, too; Slate, for all intents and purposes – is a walking, talking misconception. I’m pretty sure that if I’d have met him socially, I wouldn’t give him the time of day. Maybe to admire his tattoos, nothing more. Caleb, on the other hand, is so very mature (not particularly by choice) and so broken inside, even if he’s showing nothing on the outside, he’s avoiding any situation that might produce the slightest of chances of a repeat of the experience that burned him so. Even at the risk of losing what will ultimately make him the happiest.

Kris’s writing is alway so very careful. Every word is calculated, yet every word flows right from the tips of her fingers and onto the page (err… computer screen) and I’m always amazed. I know this story is, in part, pretty personal for Kris. And I think that if you give it a chance, you will find that special charm one always finds when reading a beautiful story, with great, wholesome characters, romance and drama – wrapped neatly in a not perfect, but a happy ending.

Every emotion is thought through, and more than that – felt – through the words.

I think it’s safe to say I wholeheartedly recommend this novel.

While I was reading Duplicity one of my friends began raving about this book titled "One to Tell The Grandkids". She said it was the "sweetest, realist, most romantic book EVER". I was intrigued.

So I asked who the author was. Turns out it was Kristina Sanchez, and since I was already reading one of her books and was completely enmeshed in it I knew this book would be fantastic and I was right!

Caleb Ryder was more of a big brother than best friend to Slate McKenzie. When Slate found out he was going to be a father, Caleb promised to be there for him. Though Caleb was the type of man to learn from his mistakes, history threatened to repeat itself in the form of Slate’s baby’s mother, Taryn.

A story about finding love when you aren’t looking and finding your place when your family tree is really a forest.

I fell completely in love with this story. Taryn is a strong lead female character who is known to make mistakes but she isn't the typical whiny female leads that fill so many novels these days. She owns up to her mistakes and tries her best to correct them. Slate is absolutely adorable, sweet, kind, understanding... well you get the picture.

This story isn't your typical romance where boy meets girl, falls in love and lives happily ever after. Real life gets complicated, and sometimes the chemistry just doesn't work for some while it practically bursts into flames for others. I found myself having to "put this book in the freezer" (Friends TV show reference) because my ship was not sailing!

If you love realistic love stories, mixed with some humor, romance, and tons of feels this is exactly the book for you. Well written, never lost my interest, and overall just a fantastic book! This author is going to the top of my radar, everything I've read from her is absolutely STELLAR. Can I give this book more than 5 stars? :)

The Springer show always had fistfight. Sure, there was the who is sleeping with who, but never handled with the maturity of Mz Sanchez characters. Tayrn does something stupid that is going to affect her the rest of her life. She's not the first to have made a mistake. She's not the first to make this mistake. Unlike many young women though, she really is in a good place in life for this to happen. She has a job she loves, family that loves her, and very supportive friends.

I absolutely adored this story. One to tell the Grandkids isn't just some twisty baby-daddy romance tale, Kristina Sanchez tells the truths. Taryn makes mistakes. I fell in love with OtTtG faster than I could imagine.
The loneliness of Taryn's inner monologues whilst performing her job, the awkwardness of the situation she got herself into, Slate's easy going and, last but not least Caleb's propensity for self flagellation that nearly drove me mad... And all around Kristina woven her net with fascinating side characters: Taryn's family, her witty friends, Caleb's family's angsty relationship.
