He’s Broken…

Dray, Vice President of the Sacred Hearts MC, watched his mother die in a bloody hail of bullets at the tender age of sixteen. It broke something inside of him and he’s been pretty much pissed off at the world ever since. Worse, he’s done things since that time that have just broken down his soul even further… Dray doesn’t want to be that guy anymore. Then came

Physical violence makes me uncomfortable. I still remember and recoil from a particular scene from 'Sin City' with Elijah Wood left to be eaten by wolves or the whole 'Passion of the Christ' movie. This being said, I am glad there is some violence in this book. It gives background and realism to the MC environment. And it is not overdone.

I like that it shows that not every woman is cut out to be with someone in an MC. Some violence comes with the lifestyle and a woman has to be strong enough to

A really good story. I still loved the first book more but this was a really good follow-up story. If more NA was written like this I would read more of it. The couple was young but had maturity in dealing with things and I loved that. They had issues but they were dealt with the best way they could. Well done.

3.5 - 4 SACRED HEART STARS!

I am truly loving this series, I love how when the H sees and helps the h, thats it he's gone, he may not know it but he has lost his heart to her.
I like the fact that the book has very few pages that dont involve the couple, and although I preferred book 1 this book did have me hooked straight away and the ending was perfection!

This installment of the series was good, just a little bit honestly dull in certain parts. There was a lot of introspection and sweetness in here, so if that is your thing you will love it. After the excitement/danger of the first one, this one is extremely mild.

Dray is our hero, and he has lost his attitude from the first book, and is now a changed guy. In comes Everett, a college student. He comes to her rescue, mirroring the rescue of the heroine of the first book, something Dray fought agai

5 Remarkable Stars

I love this series and I'm so loving A.J.!!

Dray is a broken damage man. Lost his mom due to the club illegal activities back in the day. He blamed his dad and the whole world. Then a girl came crashing into his garage. The rest is what they say....history???

Everett is having the worse day of life. First, her car dies. Second her backpack ripped apart and the contents spilled out. Third, walked in on her boyfriend having sex with a hooker with no protections. Damn. Well guess

Loved this. I love these biker books where the biker is such a strong mean s.o.b until he meets the love of his life and this is exactly one of those. Dray was broken when he watched his mother being gunned down when he was only 16, and so he hated the world and everything in it. Along came Everett and they were what they both needed of each other. I loved Everett's attitude and how she was quite strong and wise as to her surroundings. This club is a perfect family for each of their members and ...more

Wow! I loved Dray and Em's story! Everett Moran has got to be one of the strongest heroine's I've ever read. And Dray just blew me away. After the first book I really wasn't sure I wanted to read his story, which is why it's taken me so long to get to it. So glad I finally did!!! Really looking forward to reading more!!! ...more

4 stars ****

This being the second in the series, there was some pressure to live up to the first. I've got to say I think it was on par. Not better, not worse.

So in this book, we have Dray, who is VP of The Sacred Hearts MC and Everett.

Everett has a tough time throughout the book. She struggles with juggling work and school, her boyfriend is a bum and a layabout, doesn't help with the rent and bills and expects Everett to be at his beck and call.

After calling her boyfriend and getting his voic

WOW, even better than the first book in the series. I LOVE a great MC series, but great ones are few and far between. Beyond the romantic aspect of the story, my favorite thing about MC books is the brotherhood. Unfortunately, many authors leave this part out. NOT Downey. The friendships she writes about in this series is just as captivating as the romance (well, almost...).

I tend to like gritter MC books, but can't stomach the ones with brutal violence and rape scenes. This was a perfect balanc

A lot better than the first book. It was a quite interesting NA book, which didn't have much of the MC stuff. The heroine cried a lot - she cried when she was tired, she cried when she was hurting, she cried when she was confused, she even cried when she felt relieved and it got very annoying. I also was disappointed because author didn't give the characters enough time to fall in love. It just came too quickly to be believable.
But still I liked it a lot more than the first book.

Truly wonderful story of two people crossing each others' path just when it's needed most. Once again I flew through a book that AJ has penned and I'm left craving more. Amazing way of expanding the depth of each character and making you feel a part of the MC...can't wait for the next one!!! ...more

Excellent

Since this is book 2 in the series it keeps getting better. You catch up with your favorite people in the MC but in this book you see Dray grow up and find love with Everett.

Re-read 11/2/18
This was a re-read for me and I have to say it...the new covers for this series are so much better than the old ones.
This is the story of Drey the VP of the Sacred Hearts MC and Everett. Drey meets Everett after she has had a pretty messed up day and like the hot, alpha dominate male he is Drey steps up to the plate and offers to help her out.
I liked Drey's character quite a bit actually even if I did have to remind myself that he was young and that

Another okay read, though I did enjoy Dray and Everette's story, it was extremely repetitive. I think I read about her worst day ever like four or five times throughout the book when once is just enough and maybe a glossed over version as well. So just like the first book, while an enjoyable read, there were many bland, page skipping parts. Plus we get another dose of instalove in this book too, which just made my skin crawl. I was kind of expecting that though since authors tend to stick to the ...more

Really enjoyed this one.

Dray is the VP for The Sacred Hearts MC.
He lost his mother in tragic circumstances aged 16, since then he'd been lost, bitter and angry at the world.

Evy is having a shitty day her car breaks down and she takes it to Drays garage. Money is tight and she could really do without the repair bill.
Things go from bad to worse after that and let's just say that Dray acts as her knight in shining armour.

Her worst day turns out to be the best thing that could of happened to he

I was worried that Dray was going to be a total jerk and go back to the way that he was before. I worried needlessly, Dray is sweet and wants to help a total stranger.

Evy has had one of those days where everything that could go wrong, does. She's at her wits end and doesn't know what to do. She finds solace in the last place she was expecting. I mean Dray is pretty much a complete stranger but steps up to the plate to help.

Dray will steal your heart and makes you want to hug him. I wanted to gi

Great MC

Dray you start this book and you want to hate him and love him all at once. He had his faults but only because of his mom. He turns how to be a sweet lovable biker. Evy it's just about at the end of her ropes with the worst day possible but she meets a stranger that'll help her put it back together. Dray big bad sweet biker. Evy is sassy shy and fits right in loved their story and their hea I highly recommend this book and author
