"MEDICAL MOGUL'S DEADLY Billionaire Doctor Accused in Patient Deaths!" That headline exposed the man I love—and the father of my unborn child.
I didn't mean to be that woman. Falling for my father's best friend. Secretly pregnant by the billionaire doctor who swore he'd never have another child.
Dr. Carter Price. Pharma heir. Medical rebel. Seventeen years older and dangerously irresistible. His touch should come with a hazard label.
Returning home was supposed to simplify my life. Instead, my father's interference pushed me straight into Carter's forbidden arms. One reckless confession destroyed every boundary between us.
Now, my best friend's death is tied to Carter's empire. My father's desperate to match me with someone "suitable." And those secrets I'm hiding?
They're multiplying faster than my morning sickness.
Everything is on the line. My freedom. My reputation. The man whose broken heart perfectly matches mine.
As my father watches us like prey, As Carter battles corruption from within, And while the world decides what's best for me,
Dr Carter and Sunny had a rough road to twin baby bliss. He is traumatized by his failed marriage and child SIDS death. She just lost her best friend. Story based in LA, too many subplots to keep track of. I never felt excited for the main couple and was honestly was more vested in Sunny’s relationship with her father and mother. Dr Carter was lacking that take-charge like a BOSSY Dr. He was more cinnamon b trying not to piss off his BFF while getting naked with his daughter on the clock at the hospital. Sadly the situation does not lead to almost busted tension or ethical dilemmas work place hookups. Plot remains focused on Sunny’s puking and confrontations with totalitarian father
Soleil Douglas, Sunny, is at her best friend, Kira’s funeral. Kira was only 27 years old. They had moved from Los Angeles to Tampa right after high school. Sunny was the one to find Kira on their bathroom floor unconscious. Sunny’s parents want her to move back to LA. Her dad tells her that he has a friend that will give her a job here at home while she grieves and decides where she wants to live. She doesn’t want to stay in Tampa alone. Another part of her does not want to lose the memories that she and Kira made there. However, for now Sunny agrees to stay in LA.
Dr. Carter Price is invited by Rick and Melanie Douglas to a welcome home party for their daughter, Soleil. He is to meet her so he knows where she can fit in at the clinic. Rick goes to help with the grill and leaves Carter to walk around the party alone. He sees a stunning woman who is curvy and wearing a red bikini with a white, crocheted coverup. Rick is always trying to set Carter up so Carter hopes that this is the girl Rick invited to the party for him. She walks up to him and introduces herself as Sunny. She walks past him into the hallway where it is quieter. Carter follows her. They talk and flirt. Carter realizes that she is at the very least, tipsy, but he thinks that she is worth having a possible fling with if nothing else.
For the last week, Sunny has been basically staring at the walls of her childhood bedroom thinking of her best friend. When her father talked about having the party, Sunny decided that she would drink and enjoy herself. She leads Carter to her bedroom. She is being impulsive with the hot stranger. Carter had no idea that she is actually Soleil and Sunny had no idea that Carter is her dad’s best friend and her new boss.
Things were definitely complicated for these two. It did not help that Sunny’s dad, Rick, was always trying to control her life. Another crazy but cute story.

Carter has just agreed to give his best friend Rick’s daughter a job after Rick told him she was going through a lot and had just moved home from FL. He didn’t know what happened but Rick made her sound impulsive and Carter hoped she would be an asset to his clinic and not a burden. Rick was having a party to welcome Soleil back to Malibu and when Carter got there he wandered around waiting to meet Soleil. He crossed paths with a beautiful woman Sunny, who was a little drunk but very flirtatious and the two ended up in a bedroom together. After they went back downstairs and ran into Rick who said he was glad to see they met and both Carter and Soleil were shocked to find out who the other was. Sunny fit right in to the clinic seeing patients in her role as nurse practitioner. The attraction hadn't died down any and the two started seeing each other. Rick was a very controlling father and still looked at his 27 year old daughter as a child so Carter and Sunny kept things quiet. Carter lost his infant daughter to SIDS so he told Sunny he wasn’t sure he wanted another child and risk the heartbreak. Sunny had just lost her best friend suddenly after complications from a drug trial she was participating in. Carter is keeping a big secret from Sunny regarding his connection to the drug trial and Sunny keeps her pregnancy a secret afraid of his reaction. Things get even worse when her father finds out about them seeing each other and lets things slip he had no right to. There is a lot of forgiveness, healing and rebuilding of trust and relationships for everyone involved.

Love and Forgiveness Brings Happiness - This is a poignant story about Sunny who is grieving the loss of her best friend, but also has to deal with her controlling father, which led to her embarking on a secret romance with her father’s best friend. Carter was only meant to help Sunny acclimatise to her new role, but spending together led to them engaging in discreet mind blowing pleasures. However, Sunny and Carter’s budding relationship imploded when her father discovered their relationship and revealed the secret Carter had been hiding from her, which brought back her grief and sadness.
Unfortunately, Sunny’s anger and sadness was exacerbated when she discovered her life was about to chance, but she wasn’t in the mood to deal with any more stress, so she kept it a secret from Carter. Nevertheless, Carter found out whilst he was also dealing with his own stressful situation, which led him to seek Sunny out to resolve their conflict. Luckily, Carter was able to convince Sunny to give them a chance at having the family they deserved.
This story had a lot of serious and funny moments, but it also had some unpredictable and emotional moments, that really caught me off guard. I found myself hooked from the beginning and eagerly turning the pages to find out if the characters would get a happily ever after or not.

Sunny grieving for the loss of her best friend meets up with Carter at a welcome home party her parents had arranged where they have a one night stand, before Carter realises that Sunny is his best friend’s daughter. She comes from a family where her father who is a complex character bordering on being controlling and overbearing, despite Sunny being in her late 20’s. I felt for Sunny as despite her own situation she still found time to try and support another friend who was in an abusive relationship. Carter’s character is also not straightforward, he has his own demons to overcome one of which could impact on his relationship with Sunny. All in all the relationships very messy and intriguing on how it will all pan out. There are some very emotional outbursts on both sides but with a constantly interfering father Sunny couldn’t expect anything else. Whereas Carter was desperately trying to get to the bottom of the issues with his company. A very cleverly written story with lots of different issues to be resolved to keep you interested in the journey. Well worth reading.

Summer is back home in California after the unexpected death of her best friend. There she unknowingly meets and hooks up with her dad’s best friend Carter. The connection between the two is strong though Summer’s dad is livid when he finds out about the couple. When Summer learns that she is pregnant and also learns that Carter’s pharmaceutical company was at least partially responsible for her friend’s death, she begins to question their relationship, but the two eventually realize they love one another. Even Summer’s dad is ones around, especially when the couple learns they are having twins. This age gap book was certainly steamy, but it was a little unbelievable that the two would hook up so quickly, as in the first 15 minutes of meeting. I also found Carter, who was supposedly in his forties, to be somewhat immature. He didn’t seem that much older than twenty-something Summer. So I gave it 3, maybe 3 1/2 stars.
This is a story of loss, independence, romance and a little mystery. Sunny comes home after her roommate and best friend dies and her father starts micromanaging her again. Getting away from him was the reason she moved to Tampa. He throws a welcome back party for her and arranges a job in his attempt to get her to stay. But she has a couple secrets that he doesn't know about. She slept with a guy at her party not knowing that this was her dads best friend and her new boss. He is also the owner of the pharmaceutical company who's drug was the cause of her friends death. I loved the characters and the strength that Sunny shows throughout.

Good story. Moved a little slow. I really didn’t feel the chemistry between them. I thought Sunny was WAY too immature for Carter. I didn’t understand what it was about her that really made her the one for him. Except for them constantly having sex I didn’t feel it. Also, I kept waiting for her to tell him she was pregnant and it took until the end of the book for her father to tell him. That was frustrating. I kept waiting for her to grow up a little more and break away from her father’s control. The book was ok. I’ve read others by this author and I will again in the future.
This heartfelt story portrays a woman grieving the loss of her best friend and a controlling parent who thinks he knows what is best for her. When Sunny moves back home with her parents her life takes a different turn when she connects with Carter. Their relationship changes her life in more ways than one then tie in the secrets and drama that comes, and you get a story filled with emotional ups and downs that kept me glued to the pages.

Carter and Soleil meet without knowing who each other were or how they are connected. Their night together was explosive, and the revelation of a working relationship with the added bonus of being her father's best friend set these pages on fire. It was a fun read with some drama to spice up the suspense of how the plot moves forward.

Enjoyed the book. Although Feb fourth isn't valentines day its the fourteenth so not a valentines baby. Also be good if you add in the end what happens afterwards. Get married have mire kids ect. The ending could make the book that extra specail that makes the whole story. Not just ends not enough feeling at the end for me. That's why I scored 4 stars sorry the end acctually makes the book feel whole as it stands feels unfinished.
-A story that begins with heartbreak leads to unexpected love. An impulsive fling with an older man brings life-altering surprises. Emotional moments balance with steam and romance. A sweet epilogue ties everything together beautifully.

Loved this book! Sunny comes back to LA after her best friends death but she never expected Carter to come into her life, Carter is a doctor and when asked to due a favor for his best friend he never thought it would led to love. Can these two forget past tragedies and heal each other or is it to late?.

Really enjoyed, I really felt for Sunny and Carter , though I struggled a little with, she wanted to be treated like an adult but kept running away and I felt for Carter. He had no-one, not like Sunny had. It was a good plot and I loved the HEA. Would have liked a but more on the Epilogue but ...Dual pov, Spice and Angst.
Soleil and Carter meet bur don't realize they have a connection. They have an explosive night together. She has need to share but is scared to tell him. There are many issues that are working against them. Will they have a happy ending together?.

This one was definitely heavy on the whole “oh no, this is forbidden” trope… but let’s be real: if a wealthy, older, slightly traumatized doctor was trying to snatch me up? Yes, please.
That said, if I had to read the words “female condom” one more time, I was going to lose it. 😅
The characters had some depth and their dynamic was steamy and cute all at once.
This is a very good book. The older man/ younger woman storyline is always fun. Add some babies, and that is even better. The forbidden chemistry and passion really brings you into the story. This is a definite must-read.
WARNING this romance book is very HOT and have GREAT characters that you can't ignore to read. Sunny and Carter have HIGH HEAT, HIGH STEAM, and some EXTREME SPICINESS. I suggest this AMAZING book by Sofia and let the swooning begin.
