He'd go to his sister's wedding, he'd keep his head down, and the whole family would finally have something other than his disastrously brief engagement to talk about. It was going to be the fact that none of them liked his new brother-in-law, but that wasn't Simon's fault.
It was a simple plan that really couldn't go wrong. Not unless Simon did something really stupid, like wake up the morning after a stag weekend with a stranger in his hotel bed and no idea who it was.
That was the sort of gossip that was hard to beat.
Let me just say this. I love Simon. And all the antics at the wedding...OH MY!! This one will have you laughing, cringing, and everything in between but in the best way possible. It is really good, and I loved the characters in this one. Must read! 4.5 stars.
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
Simon wanted to keep his head down, and out of the family gossip, since his engagement was called off. It's his sister's turn, given as no one likes Wyatt, the groom. But then Simon wakes up in Tate's bed, Wyatt's stepbrother. The ame stepbrother who Angie warned Wyatt to tell his brother to keep away from.
This book, right, is a catalogue of errors on Wyatt's part, saved by Tate and Simon, with a backdrop of gate-crashing cousins (who I really REALLY wanted to punch in the face!) missing rings, stolen wine, and some special moments between Simon and Tate that really were the best!
It's a lot, though. I found myself just waiting for the next drama, and it did get a weeny bit too much.
I loved Simon and Tate, both together and apart. Simon clearly hadn't met the right man to really SEE him like Tate does and I loved that Tate wouldn't let Simon talk himself out of whatever Tate had in mind at any given moment.
It's steamy in places and flipping hilarious in others. Not too much emotion, but there are moments that let you into Simon's mind. He has a lot more to say than Tate I think.
I really enjoyed all these books, they have been a lot of fun to read and sometimes, just sometimes, you really do need to laugh out while reading!
Stag Weekend was funny and sweet and will have you laughing. Simon and Tate are thrown together during the chaotic wedding of Simon's sister, Angela, and Tate's stepbrother, Wyatt. Wyatt, the bumbling groom, causes a series of mishaps, including losing the rings and going missing multiple times. Meanwhile, Angela's eccentric and often troublesome family pushes her to the brink of a breakdown. Amidst the madness, Simon and Tate step in as the unsung heroes, preventing the wedding from falling apart. As they work together, their initial attraction turns into deeper admiration and love, all while their witty banter adds a fun spark to the story.
Book 2 of 4- I like this one better than the novella that was first. This one had even more crazy wedding shenanigans! If all weddings were like that, everyone would just elope. Simon’s sister is getting married. Their cousin crashed the wedding and was far worse than any bridezilla, I think. Her mother is almost as bad, and theirs is not on their side. Shameful. Tate’s stepbrother is the groom, and he’s a mess. It’s hard to believe that he’s actually a responsible adult! Tate and Simon are the only two sane people present. It’s good that they’ve hit it off, and way. More than anyone is aware of. Way to go, guys! It’s not instalove, but not far off. I really enjoyed it.
Wedding, complicated family relations, stag night (aka bachelor party for American readers). What could possibly go wrong? You don't want to miss this one if you're in the mood for a very low angst rom-com with just a perfect amount of heat, plot and feels. Author's special brand of sarcastic dry humor adds so much to the experience! So much fun! I was grinning like a fool most of the time. Have fun!
I am team Simon all the way here— Tate has his moments, good and bad, but Simon is lovely. Everyone else in this story either has moments of being various shades of awful or it’s their defining feature, and it’s a credit to the author that that just makes things more fun. There’s a certain madcap energy that carries the day, and as the hijinks ensue, and escalate, it’s easy to get caught up in it all. *I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Stag Weekend by TA Moore is about Simon and Tate's wild adventures at the destination wedding of their Siblings. Night of drunk Amnesia check, family drama check, finding out your hot hookup is your soon to be brother in law check. I loved this story so much it was fun, witty and awesomely sweet.
“If they don't have anything better to gossip about, they’ve not paid attention.”
I would have paid to watch half the wedding party/ family swim with the sharks 🦈 Despite all that, this was an absolutely memorable wedding if I do say so 😏
Tate and Simon are Yin and Yang Simon is a bit stiff and not much for breaking the rules Tate is YOLO on steroids Together, these two are about to turn absolute wedding chaos into the most memorable story of how we met
Packed with laughs Quite a few “ are you fracking kidding me” moments Some smexy time More laughs and blunders and the cutest darn HEA
“That’s it, the mental ghost of put-together, responsible eldest child Simon noted acerbically, leave with your dignity intact.”
Simon has always had trouble with social cues. To say it has hampered his relationships, or attempts at them, would be a gross understatement. He has come to accept that he may never get his white picket fence or happily ever after.
“Just this once he was going to be in the moment and not in his own way” That is, until the day after that “moment of not getting in his own way.” Turns out, when he threw all sense of propriety out the window and engaged in a night of absolutely the best debauchery he has ever experienced, there were unforeseen consequences
“It was about you, just the way you like it. You told me that, remember?” Oh, Tate, I think this time you may have lodged your foot a bit too far into your mouth.
This is a definite one-click for anyone who enjoys complete chaos served with a side of the cutest opposites attract romance
4.25 stars. I think this is my favourite of the four island stories so far. There were a ridiculous number of things not going according to plan during the wedding related events, but this pushed Tate and Simon together in all the right ways. Even though it may be over the top, it was amusing without too much cringe. The ending was excellent.
It makes sense that the two people with the most sense in these families ended up together. A lot of crazy wedding hijinks in this one made for a fun story to read.
Stag Weekend is the second book in the Island Confidential series and it's even better than the first. Simon is just a blast, if you need a fun, short read that will keep you wanting more, this is it. I can't wait to read more.
Simon and Tate are thrown together over the wedding of Angela (Simon's sister), and Wyatt (Tate's stepbrother). Talk about a three-ring circus of matrimonial mayhem! Wyatt, the groom, a man whose brain seemed to operate on a hamster wheel powered by pure unadulterated buffoonery, loses the rings and goes missing a couple of times. Meanwhile, the bride's clan, all nutty as fruitcakes and some of them nasty with it, leaves the bride coming close to a nervous breakdown. And through it all, Simon and Tate become the unsung heroes of this matrimonial disaster, preventing the wedding from descending into a full scale fiasco. As they work together they grow more and more attracted to one another. I loved the banter between them, and how their attraction/lust grew into admiration and, eventually, love. Together, they deserved a medal, and a very, very long holiday. Epic epilogue 😊
