The Inferno

Rate this book
Welcome, everyone, to The Inferno. A dark fae, a demon, and a vampire walk into a club… It sounds like the start of a bad joke, doesn’t it? But for me, it was the beginning of a terrifying new reality.

Five years ago, I was found beyond the Council District’s barrier, bloodied, alone, and stripped of my memories. My unlikely saviours were a ragtag band of supernaturals who took me in, gave me shelter, gave me purpose, and taught me how to survive in the shadows.

But one night was all it took to unravel everything I had built. I made a mistake. I let my darkness out, and the enforcers took notice. They came for me, determined to uncover every secret I had been told to bury.

From that moment, nothing was the same.

They make me question everything, even my loyalty to the only family I have ever known. And when disaster strikes The Inferno, I am torn away from home and thrown into the path of three deadly enforcers… until a fourth steps out of the shadows.

I never felt like I belonged, but now I wonder if I have finally found where I fit—among the monsters.

The Inferno is a reverse harem supernatural romance. Medium burn with tension, shadows, and heat. Intended for 18+ readers.

Reverse harem / why choose (no mm), Supernatural / paranormal beings, Enemies to lovers, Powerful and possessive MMCs, Equally powerful FMC, Touch her and die (or worse), They fall first (and hard), Forced proximity, Content: Violence, trauma, sexual themes (more details in the book).

I absolutely devoured this book and I need book two right now. I honestly feel like 900 pages was not long enough. 😩
The story, world building, the magic, the strong FMC who has been through so much already (don’t even know the half of it yet) and still pushes through. Each guy so insanely different, thank god it’s a reverse harem because honestly how could you choose between them?! UGH. My poor Sai at the end 😭
Absolutely 100% recommend reading this, you won’t be disappointed.

Grade A Edging

This book absolutely blew my mind. I did not see it coming. These characters. The mystery. Mostly the absolutely delicious, endless, tension between Jasmine and the enforcers. We're talking hundreds of pages of heart throbbing heat and tension. This is a CHONKY book, coming in at almost 1000 pages, and I absolutely devoured it. I didn't do anything but read this weekend, so caught up in these characters. I might have missed it somewhere in the blurb, but this is actually part one, so we don't have an HEA in this first book, and honestly, I'm fine with that. I'm so down to keep going with this seriously awesome storyline and these characters.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
❤❤ book one is kind of a morphing of enemies to lovers
🔥🔥 slow burn but still managed to keep me on edge
🌶 it's hard for me to rate the spice level on this because the tension was grade A HOT imho, but the actual smexy times are very limited, I have to imagine it's only going to grow, and I am here for it!
💀 Warnings, quite a bit of on page violence, including the on page attempted SA of a minor. I didn't find anything overly dark but it's something each person must assess for themselves.
🚫 No MM, FF, OW, cheating

I struggled with how to rate this. It was a pretty good book for a debut novel. But there were many issues. This needed some serious editing/proofreading and didn't need to be this long. Many plot holes and things that didn't make sense. The world building could use alot of work, I also found my self confused about her powers and how they worked. This entire book revolved around her using them and hiding them but I somehow couldn't fully grasp it. Some scenes were confusing on how the characters moved and acted. The wording was confusing like when she would "softly scowl" or "peer" away from someone's gaze. How she would lower her gaze but angrily look at someone.

The romance was sooo slow it was pretty much non existent. The spice was barely 1 🌶️. I'm interested to see what the next book would bring but hope it isn't as long.

She only has memories from 5 years ago till present day. Everything before then is blank. She only remembers being found by Brutus, the owner of the club inferno, and his 6 chiefs of security for each level of the club. They have become her family, her safety for the past five years.

That all changes when three enforcers enter into the club one night and cause a dark power within her to awaken. With this power comes the realization that the people she calls her family, have been keeping things from her.

Our morally grey MMC’s

Sai- the dark fae with striking blue eyes
Julien- the vampire with blood red eyes
Him- our dark and brooding demon shadow daddy
Ezekiel- tattoo covered half demon peace keeper of the group.

if you really want to know what happens when a demon, fae, and vampire walk into a bar add this book to your TBR. I loved this book. I loved the humor and watching jasmine try to resist the men. I can’t wait for book two and to learn if they will be able to give up their pride in order to keep her.

Long and slow.

This was a repetitive and slow read. The heroine was weak, needy, and insecure. The guys were unlikable. Things were left out as far as what happened to the heroine five years ago then the h only wanted to tease and demean the heroine. The guys keeping the mate bonds to themselves and the heroine being clueless was predictable at the end. The heroine had low self esteem and helpless. Don't care for the side plot of another female being added at the end and of the guys being nicer to such character than towards the heroine. The sexy time was not even hot with lots of teasers only. Nothing really happened on this book except the focused and repetitive monologues of the heroine self doubts and being almost dying twice. Disappointed that the plotline was weak and lacking characters development in my opinion. The cliffhanger at the end of the heroine being kept in the dark of the guys as her mates were a weak one in my opinion.

And now we wait for book two! This is incredible sumptuous world building, 900 pages flew by. Read through Kindle Unlimited but bought my own copy, I can’t believe it’s the authors first published work, everything is written so well, from dialogue, description, characters and more. There’s an amazing balance of warming up too and so much suspense, it keeps you on edge. Here’s to Jasmine falling across all of the realms for all of the guys, it’s about to get super hot! 🖤

oh my!!!

Loved this book! read in one sitting. I read a lot of books and never really write reviews but the story line gripped me from the get go and has be literally dying for book two😩😩 please m k Michelle don’t make me wait too long for the next part of the story. The ending left me wanting too much. To the point where I stalked insta page to see when it was coming out.

I don’t do spoilers, so you won’t find any from me. You just need to read this book!!

This was so good!! It’s been a long time since I read a RH that was this good and where I loved all the characters. It reminds me of the RHs from years ago. Great character development and growth, the relationship development is amazing too, fun world, awesome magic system. I’m excited to see where the plot goes but the focus is def on the characters and their relationships in this one.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️

💫 Why Choose (MMFM)
💫 Paranormal (fae, vampires, demons, were, etc)
💫 Tough her and 💀
💫 MMCs fall first
💫 Insomnia
💫 One POV

Things I liked:
- the MMCs were very touchy feely early on and it seemed very sensual! Helped me get through the slow burn
- the story was captivating from the start, even when I didn't really understand what was happening, I wanted to see what would happen next

Things I didn't like:
- grammatical errors. In need of proof reading and formatting
- There were a lot of similaries to the Bonds that Tie series, even calling a mate a bond
- the FMC mentioned her eyes changing color a lot but I don't understand how she could know that. You can't just see your own eyes and she never mentioned that she could feel the change
- the magic was confusing to me. There were coils, spirals, shadows, and mists, but that's somehow separate from her empath powers? And then they mention later a separate power that she and another kind of creature has. It was too much and didn't make any sense to me.
- long chapters! Most were 20-30 minutes long
- descriptions and movements often made no sense. People's movements seemed to change without it being mentioned, or the author forgot what position people were in
- Jasmine was unnecessarily mean to the MMCs, especially at the end. There were a lot of times she seemed to act over dramatically

Surely, a book that was published 8 months ago, that has no mention of a cliffhanger or of being a part of a series... that has no "coming soon" page for a next book or any verbiage at all that suggests this is not, in fact, a standalone...

...surely, that book isn't going to leave every. single. solitary conflict unresolved, end on a cliffhanger, and have no follow-up in sight?

WRONG.

Honestly, I wouldn't be quite as miffed as I am if this was explicitly stated. I specifically look for those things because - shocker - I don't like reading cliffhanger books when the next installment is nowhere to be seen. I read way too much, I'll never remember to look back when the author finally decides to give us a resolution. So what am I supposed to feel? We essentially just drove all the way to the amusement park to find out it's closed with nothing indicating when it'll open again.

I was already partly annoyed due to the excessive editing issues and the authors raver-child obsession with how the FMC's skin feels. Normally, I'm a jubilant advocate for a more immersive read - the more senses being engaged, the better. But apparently, I have a limit... and that limit is 317 uses of the phrase "my skin" in a matter of 591 pages, most of which occurred within the first 60% of the book. Jfc girl, drink some water and touch some grass.

In fact, if the author chipped away the dizzying amount of sensory rabbit holes this book plummets into, maybe we could have the next book already. But alas, the raver-child is a dogged archetype.

This book is AMAZING. I'm shocked someone hasn't already reviewed it? I loved the characters, ALL of them, the build up, the supernatural elements. Yes, it is LONG, but I appreciate the author isn't trying to drag it out over two books like some... It's honestly the best book I've read for a while and I cannot wait for book two! Thank you, M.K!

Slow burn - (Fated) mates - reverse harem :: charismatic fae - sexy vampire - dangerous brooding demon - all powerful dual fae

I appreciate not all of the men were there at the beginning. I like that they weren’t all Insta lust. There was some back-and-forth on all sides fighting the urge to be close. A sense of enemies to lovers but not quite because she doesn’t actually know them. More like she’s been told a conspiracy and is slowly finding out the truth. She has a mysterious unknown past and rune, all memories lost other than the last five years with her (found family). And her rare uber powerful secret powers, of course. I like a good slow burn of angst and tension but my take away is this is only slow because they keep cock blocking each other.

I like she references them by feelings (heat, cool) they give her not scents like most PNR.

I don’t like her guns blazing spontaneity in rushing into danger only to be saved over and over by the guys she’s convinced herself she’s running from. She seems more concerned with them than finding out what happened to her/past. All she talks about is going ‘home’, to the building that was bombed. She has no things, they wouldn’t be working, so why is she so adamant to return to nothing? Why no curiosity about her past? She seemed eager the first time they mentioned removing her rune, then nothing. Like did they ever even remove all of it like they said they were going to?

The entire book takes place inside rooms, flitting from one building she lived and worked in to the house the guys live in. World building was limited to the few districts she describes and their surface level meanings/functions. I usually appreciate longer books but it didn’t feel like a lot happened, but the moments that had action were over quick. So I guess the rest was filler angst..? Her Arguing with herself and convincing herself the guys are liars and she can't trust them, but she sould definitley trust the people who haven't tried contacting her and had locked her in her room before..

DNF 50%

Firstly this book is 602 pages long I gave it more of a chance than others.

Nothing much happens in that first 50% 301 pages people!!! Some other books are literally that long. A lot of editing would have moved this story along faster.

I had a few problems with this book firstly I care little for clubbing lifestyles. We've all been there, it's boring if you are not a certain age. That brings me to my next hiccup, just how old is Jasmine???

An empath with the maturity level of a teen??

Jasmine FEEDS on and FORCE'S emotions on everyone around her constantly without permission. Yet when Julian, a vampire, gives her his blood, to save her life, apparently that's a violation. Get it together girl.

As you can imagine at this point I was getting fed up with this story. Not to leave me hanging, of course another pet hate kept popping up... Heroines who apparently think not eating is an important part of the plot. Jasmine is not a child, why do we have to continuously bear witness to her being told to eat and her only taking one bite. I couldn't careless what people do with their food but don't keep emphasising eating disorders, just to back up how sexy the heroines bones are.

These MMCs have done absolutely nothing to scare her yet we keep rotating back to how terrified she is, yet her power isn't. It got tedious, just move it along already.

Before I go off on another tangent, I honestly have more issues with this plot.... The bottom line is this wasn't for me.

I loved this book. Easily the best book I’ve read in a minute. There are great books and then there are books that make themselves nice and comfortable in your soul. This is one of those books for me. The author self-recommended this book to me in response to one of my group FB posts and I couldn’t be happier for it.

Anywho, this book is complex and a true breath of fresh air. As much as I indulge in the classic one-dimensional storylines/tropes and basic characters, this book is not that. On the surface, it sounds like it could be, but in reality, the world is well built and each of the characters are unique. Yes, you have the classic cheeky MMC and the classic grumpy leader MMC, but each character is multifaceted. May I also just add that it was so refreshing to have an FMC who placed self-preservation above having an attitude. She is competent and has common sense, which are surprisingly rare traits among FMCs.

Although the book isn’t super plot-heavy, it makes up for it by prioritizing character personification. There aren’t many slow burn why choose books out there, but this one does it right.

I’m beyond excited to see what happens next.

If i could rate this books 6⭐️ i would absolutely be doing it!!

As soon as i picked this book up i KNEW it was going to be a great read! I love love love the FMC, Jasmine, she’s feisty, strong and confident in herself, she the kind of person to save herself. And then the MMC’s 🤤 A vampire, dark fae, demon and lord…all of them just the right amount of di*kish - without explanation i could decipher which one was interacting with Jasmine - they all have distinct personalities and mannerisms in the way they talk and each one is drool worthy!

The plot in this book had me hooked, for such a long book the story keeps you gripped, slowly revealing information but keeping you on a knifes edge - i cannot wait to read book 2 and hopefully get some answers! I especially enjoyed the MMC’s POV at the end of the book, i always love seeing certain moments from both sides and this little glimpse was perfect!!

🤤 Possessive MMC’s
✨ Bada$s Powerful FMC
😈 Why Choose/Reverse Harem
🔥 They Fall First

DNF @ 20%

I may come back to this book but for now, I’m just too confused to continue. I’m about 100 pages in and I still don’t know:

- What world we’re in
- What the barrier is
- What her powers are and why she can use them intuitively but simultaneously struggles with controlling them
- Why her species (empaths) are almost extinct
- Why she needs to be hidden
- Why, if she’s discovered, may be killed or thrown in jail
- What enforcers do
- What the “government” or ruling system is
- What are ancient runes and why might one be on her back

This story references a government, hierarchy, and magic system but none of that has been explained after 100 pages so I’m very confused.

Also, the entire story up until this point is a very seductive back and forth between the FMC and MMCs, so much so that it feels like one note. But usually where the seduction leads you to learn more about the characters and their personalities, this back and forth doesn’t distinguish them.

I’m just very confused.

10/10

This book was amazing, I’m not one for summaries so I won’t be providing one. But I will give my opinion on the book!

Great story and read, some grammatical errors but easily ignored. Some could be since it’s written in British English, but some, I think, were still just some errors. 10/10 storyline and dialogue.

I hope the second book gives more insight to the backstory of the characters. This first installment really laid the groundwork for the potential of an amazing series. I can truly see it.

To have a book with as many pages as this one and the ability to keep it engaging throughout that I just HAD to finish it in the span of a day, I think this book is amazing. I cannot wait for the second book.

Deeply upset I didn’t find this book later so the second book could be available because this mild cliff hanger has me dying. I swear the cliffhanger is mild (imo). But I’ll give you a small hint, I’m desperate for some groveling after that.

OMG that was so good! I honestly can’t believe I missed this book before, it’s such a gem. There’s definitely not enough visibility for stories like this.

The main reasons I fell in love with it are, first, the heroine, she’s the perfect balance between compassion and strength, a truly badass yet deeply empathetic woman. And second, the chemistry between her and the male leads is absolutely off the charts! Waiting months for the next installment is going to be so hard.

There were just a few small things I didn’t love, for example, it’s a bit strange that by 50% of the book she still hasn’t left her establishment once, not even for errands or a simple walk. And sometimes I felt the secondary characters were a little too present in the story (like Kacey with her nicknames for the male leads or the bits with her old family). But that’s totally subjective, and overall I adored this book !

I would have given this book 5 out of5 - the book kept my interest throughout and the sexual tension sizzled - if it wasn’t for the following:
It was extremely odd that Jasmine had no interest in finding out what happened to her before she was found 5 years previously and in gaining her memory back, even after it was learned that Ezekiel knew her from before.
The author seems to not understand the meaning of the word divulge. She incorrectly uses it instead of the word digest in several places.
Proofreading in general needs to be better throughout the book.
Also, what is it with Jasmine always eating like a little bird. It’s so stereotypical for a woman to be portrayed that way. And then giving her the nickname “little bird”. It’s kinda insulting.
Other than that, it was a great first book from a new author.

I'm torn.
This could have easily been a six stars for me. It started well, interesting, with lots of feels and a while psychological side I love as well as very detailed scenes. But then the scenes started to get way too detailed and long and the book started to be a bit too long, almost boring. On top of that I loved Jasmine but the she grew annoyingly reluctant. She's got all the reasons to be at first, which is why I was totally supporting her. But by 70% if the book, it started to be way too much, and things got a bit repetitive sometimes.

Now I want to know what app happens next end I actually like the characters so I want to see it all played out, but I don't want to be stuck with a too-long book again which blocked me in my other readings too. So I'm not sure I'll read the next one

3.5⭐️ I’m so torn with my rating because it would’ve been an absolute 4 star rating if it weren’t for this: I struggled so badly with HOW MANY TIMES Jasmine would say “we can’t do this” or “I shouldn’t want this” blah blah blah.. for 500 pages. It was near constant. Also, honestly, it’s really just her and the guys going back forth between fighting what they feel and giving in throughout the entire book. It drove me nuts. BUT, the rest of it kept me hanging on for more. I was so intrigued with what’s going to happen with her “family” and the things we find out towards the end. The last few chapters made me definitely want the next one! Im also so intrigued by the guys relationships with eachother and hope we see even more of that in book 2! I loved that we got Kane’s POV & a bonus chapter of Julien’s POV!

I absolutely loved this book!. I devoured it in one night.. I love the guys and how they each have distinguishable personalities, Sia, is amazing, I love his cheeky nature, Julian is beautifully sophisticated and the Demon is my Favourite, I love the coldness and indifference he shows Jasmine but the little peaks of his softer side just melts my heart, I'm a sucker for a secret softie, especially when it's hard won by the fmc and he only ever shows that side to her... not that there were many of those moments in book 1 but I'm hoping he grovels the most in book 2... the fourth one brother is super cute... I can't wait for book 2, the writing was very well done, the humour was on point and the fmc was one tough cookie!.. loved everything about it!

Intense read. Highly recommend

I love the world building in this novel. I hope in book 2 we get to experience even more in-depth. The characters are incredible. This was a little confusing but makes total sense in the end. I am excitedly waiting for book 2 to release. I loved the intensity of emotion the characters felt. I had a feeling about the big issue in the end and was totally right. There is a great deal of character growth. This book is not for the faint of heart. Big things happen, and there are triggers, so be aware if you have sensitivity to some situations. I highly recommend this as a top read for those who love monsters and magical beings. This fantasy world is great to get lost in.

I really struggled with whether to continue this book. I was somewhat entertained but also wondering what was the point of the story. I think it gets too into the minute interactions, so it’s taking too long to get to a real storyline.

I paused my reading to comb through reviews and see if I should persevere and that’s where I saw that this isn’t a standalone. This was a dealbreaker for me for two reasons: 1) I thought the reason this book was so long was because everything gets wrapped up and 2) it’s been over a year since book 1 was released and book 2 still isn’t out. I have too many incomplete series that I’m trying to juggle right now, so I’m going to tap out before something really interesting happens.

Please read this!

I don't even know what to say about it. At first, just the length of the book was massively intimidating, but also I'm so happy it was this length. I'm obsessed with every single page and word of this book.

Characters? Amazing, loved them all. Give me more.

The story line, I thought it was interesting. The romance was son point. A true version of a slow burn. And I'm a sucker for those.

And a shadow mommy?? Yes PLEASE!!!!! Gives me the same vibes as the broken bonds series by J Bree who is also one of my favourite authors. I guess MK Michelle is now joining that list. So sad I have to get a physical copy of this now

The tension in this book was top tier! I was literally kicking my feet teehee with anticipation. It was edging done just right. And these men! I feel Jasmine because I wouldn’t be able to choose either. I’m definitely a Sai girly but “Him” but Zeek but Julien like my men!

There was so many things that were left unanswered for me. I can’t wait for book two so it hopefully becomes more clear. But the storyline was interesting and kept me entertained. I was surprised that I didn’t get bored half way because it is almost 1000 pages and with a book that big you could get repetitive and just want it to hurry up. I was into it the whole time! So good!!!
