Wow! Talk about fast paced action and adventure, this book is it! You hit the ground running with this one and never stop until you've reached the end. When the story opens, Samantha, a reporter, is about to be plowed down by Zach, as he's landing after jumping out of a plane. He does his best to avoid her but the inevitable happens. While neither one of them is hurt, Sam can't waste any time talking to him because the friend she's there to film is about to skydive. Unfortunately, he plummets to ...more

Alive at 5 is the romance suspense debut from Linda Bond who was a television reporter and just so happens that’s what the heroine Samantha Steele is. No time is wasted in throwing you right in the middle of the action. How these two first meet was defiantly a new one. Zack Hunter is a police officer and has gone undercover to try and find out how his uncle died. It’s tied into a company that provides adventure vacations. Zack is currently on a skydiving excursion and when it comes time for him ...more

Oh My Gosh! I just finished Alive At Five and I am blown away. I can't remember the last time I held my breath in fear while reading a book! THIS book is great! Love, love, loved it! I proof read a lot of books and I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a book more. Linda Bond has written a great romantic suspense thriller! If you like your stories to contain intelligent, strong women and hot, alpha men on a mission, then this is the next book you need to read! This is the first time I've writ ...more

I received this book last fall, and I enjoyed it so much that I almost finished it that day. I loved the characters, and how the story drew me in with all the action and suspense. I thought the book was well-researched, and that it felt very authentic.

Zack and Samantha's characters had a great chemistry together...although I felt things progressed a bit quickly between the two of them. Still, I liked their interaction and banter and was glad things worked out for them.

I'm definitely looking for

I really enjoyed Alive at 5. Not only is there non-stop action, but the chemistry between Zach(a hunky adrenaline junkie adventure seeker), and the uptight Sam was wonderful. The writing was good. You can’t go wrong with this book. Can’t wait for the next one!

One of my favourite things about reading is discovering new-to-me authors in my favourite genres, so I’m always game to check out something new that comes across my desk if the blurb sounds interesting. Such was the case with journalist-turned-author Linda Bond’s debut novel, ALIVE AT 5: panic attack-prone TV news reporter, lone-wolf undercover police officer, high-adrenaline adventure vacation, and a shirtless-with-a-leather-jacket bloke on t

Samantha and Zack... what can I say about these two...?

What starts out as two people judging the other on what they see, turns into a pretty phenomenal relationship.

When Zack parachutes from a plane and goes in for his landing, he wants to throttle the woman standing in the middle of the landing zone. Instead? He lands pretty much on top of her. After a quick scolding, the reason for her being there for the landing starts a
Wow – this one was such an action-packed adventure! With lots of heat and steam between Samantha and Zack, and lots of mystery and intrigue around their investigation, this story moved quickly and had me entertained right from the start.

From their first meeting you could just feel the tension and energy rolling off both Samantha and Zack, and when she convinces Zack to help her investigate the adventure vacation company with her, you just know things are going to heat up between these two.

Police officer Zack Hunter is undercover investigating the death of his beloved uncle. His uncle died while scuba diving on an adventure vacation. Reporter Samantha is doing a news story her mentor's trip on the same adventure vacation - first up, a skydive. When a faulty parachute opening results in the mentor's death, she convinces Zack to become the topic of the story so she can continue the trip to investigate the now string of suspiciously-unsuspicious deaths killing vacationers.

Samantha is following her mentor on his adventure vacation for a story when he is killed. His parachute opened too early as he jumped from a plane. Samantha was on the ground waiting for him after being flattened by another thrill seeker, Zach. He is actually a cop unofficially looking into his uncle's death that also happened during an adventure vacation. After they speak to the detective in charge of the investigating her mentor's death, they find out that there have been several deaths. Saman ...more

Zack is a former ranger, investigating his rich uncle's death. He is in no way looking for romance and he sure as hell doesn't want some reporter tagging along messing up his investigation.

Samantha (Sam) is a reporter in need of a big scoop. When her friend and mentor dies in a mysterious "accident", her reporter instincts tell her there is something more going on and she is going to find out. Dragging her camera man George along, she decides to twist Zack's arm into letting them follow him on

Alive at 5 by Linda Bond may be her debut book but I couldn't tell it. I loved this book and had a hard time putting it down.

Samantha Steele is a news reporter following a friend on an "adventure vacation". She is strong, independent and flawed. Zach Hunter is a cop taking time off from work to track down is uncle's murderer. He is all Alpha male, he is very good at his job and flawed.

Linda's characters are well developed, the plot had so many twists that I never guessed who was behind all of t

High octane, packed full of adventure, bodies falling from the sky and rising from the deep—who wouldn’t be gripped?

The action is non-stop, (maybe too non-stop for those looking for a relaxing read) and the romantic dynamic between Zack and Samantha sizzles as they try to track down the killer responsible for the death of his uncle, and her mentor. Set against a back-drop of adrenalin pumping sports, which was perfect for the pacing, this is a story in which the hero and heroine have to punch th

This was a fantastic book! You don't often find romance novels that have everything like this one does. You have some humor, lots of action, some steamy moments which let's face it we almost all read these for. This one doesn't't allow the typical romance novel formula which I think is definitely one of its strengths. I have no fingernails left due to some pretty intense moments! I don't like to give any spoilers in my reviews just the high points of the book in my opinion and a general recommen ...more

I'm always on the look out for a great beach read and this one certainly fits the bill. It was a fast paced, easy read; the perfect amounts of suspense, romance and action. For the most part the suspense and romance aspects were balanced, and made sense in the storyline. The characters were engaging and interesting, both primary and secondary were well developed. The story is well plotted, and the twists and turns are many but not telegraphed.
I really enjoyed my afternoon with Linda Bond. I woul

A fun, fun, fun read or a murder mystery involving an unlikely trio of an undercover cop, a reporter and her cameraman, set against a breathlessly exciting backdrop of (extreme) sports. Throw in a parachute failure, sabotage of scuba equipment, tiger sharks and sultry sexual tension and explosive mix of action, plot twists and romance that really surprised me in a good way.

Romantic suspense, thrilling, and breathtaking...

This book is a definite 5 stars. Linda Bond does a really exceptional job with describing the feelings these characters are experiencing. I was really amazed with the F16 flying experience - it shows that the author really did her research. It's refreshing to read about strong women and not just male heros although this male hero keeps the blood pumping too! Great job Linda!

She's a reporter chasing the story that will save her job. Working together they will track down the killer and hopefully come out alive! A great story that I highly recommend.

I absolutely loved this book. The suspense and trying to figure out the who-dun-it and why just kept me reading. I wasn't sure about the book going in (it's the author's debut, I believe), but as usual, Entangled didn't let me down. Definitely worth the read and I WANT MORE!

He's currently undercover, though it's personal and not sanctioned, at a company specializing in high-risk adventure vacations, the same place three men, one of them Zack's beloved uncle, Jackson, died. Now, if he could just nail this parachute landing, it'll solidify his persona of an adrenaline junkie. Wait, why is that woman not only in his landing path, but also pointing a video cam ...more

This was a really good, solid read, and a nice addition to the romantic suspense genre. It didn't capture me the way other series I've read have, but I could find few faults with it. It was a pretty straight-forward mystery, with interesting characters, well-written dialogue, and a fun romantic side plot to go with it. I like that we weren't overwhelmed with a dozen sex scenes, but rather we were rewarded with a slow simmering romance that led to a great, passionate explosion. The characters wer ...more
