Mark was born in 1963, the third of five children. He grew up in Travelers Rest South Carolina, where he attended The First Baptist Church. On Feb. 22, 1981 his life was forever changed by the redeeming love of his new savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. He graduated from Southern Baptist seminary in 1990 with his wife Mary, and both were ordained into the ministry in 1991.They and their four children have been serving the Lord in the mountains of Breathitt County Ky. ever since. Mark's life mission is summed up in Matthew 4:23- "I want to preach , teach and heal in Jesus name." In about 2009 He began to write devotions online and at the encouragement of his peers wrote his first book, "Reflections of a Jesus Follower", a devotional study of Luke's Gospel. He has written a second volume, based on the Gospel of Mark, and hopes to write two more volumes on Matthew and John. Mark loves to write devotional studies of the scriptures, in order to make them more accessible to people. He has other works of Biblical fiction and Theology coming in the near future. Mark is a pastor, teacher, evangelist and a passionate husband and father. His life will be considered well lived if he can simply make much of Jesus Christ until meeting him face to face. The greatest affirmation will be to hear the master say, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
