Calling this guide a 2nd edition is almost a misnomer. An amazing improvement over the previous edition (though the drawn plates are still included in the back). An amazing amount of research went into producing this book and the photos are beautiful. Easily one of the best Odonata guides published. The treatments of individual species vary - some are very thorough, and some are lacking shots of cerci, females, dorsal or lateral shots where I was hoping for them. Recommended - even if you live a couple states away like I do.
