Ironic Sacrifice

Rate this book
Jayden Leigh wants to commit suicide. Her clairvoyant powers have become so intense that she lost her job and home. Death is the only way to make them stop. Opportunity presents itself when she comes across a sinfully handsome vampire ready to make a kill. Jayden begs for him to take her instead. A blissful death in his arms, or the visions ravaging her mind? She'd gladly take the vampire.

Razvan Nicolae is captivated and amused by the beautiful seeress who sacrifices herself for a stranger. Killing such a pleasing asset doesn’t interest him. If he could get her powers under control, she just might be the key to finding his missing twin.

Controlling her visions and working for a seductive vampire? Razvan’s offer is like a dream come true. But her dream turns into a nightmare when a mad vampire cult leader seeks to exploit Jayden’s powers to stop an ancient prophecy.

As Jayden finds herself at the center of a vampire war, she realizes that the biggest threat isn’t losing her life, it’s losing her heart.

Excellent

Another great book with some unseen twists and the romance I’ve come to expect. The characters are great very multi demential, who act appropriately in the different situations they find themselves in. This is the second book in the series and I loved it, I look forward to reading the next book.

Ironic Sacrifice is a charming book with all the right elements to make it a pop hit. I read it cover to cover, which can be difficult for me these days and enjoyed the experience.

We have a cute new psychic driven to near suicide by her powers who thankfully runs in to a town full of friendly vampires. She finds love and training to cope with her powers, and of course vampire intrigue! She certainly needs their help because powerful psychics are valuable commodities and an evil and thoroughly insane vampire queen is out to acquire her.

If you like the Sookie Stackhouse (not the icky TV show) stuff then I think you’ll have no problems with this. It’s light vampire romance and easy fun for an easy day.

I've read these books before but for some reason I forgot to review. Oopsy. :)

When I first read about Razvan in Wrenching Fate, I honestly wasn't sure what to make of him. He was a bit off putting and hard to read what side he was on. Now, I know better of course. Jayden is a troubled young woman. Who had her whole life ahead of her until her psychic abilities started slowly driving her mad. She couldnt control them. She is at her lowest, jobless and homeless. She wants to die because she's tortured by these powers. Until she sees a man...vampire she figures out getting ready to kill a woman. In his defense she's not a nice person but Jayden still doesnt want her to die and makes a deal with him. Razvan realizes she's someone special and has great powers that perhaps can help him find his brother Radu. So, he makes the bargain. Their physical relationship is fast. It was actually kind of interesting because both liked the other. Razvan was afraid she is like the others and wont want to stick around. Jayden is already smitten and is afraid he only sees her as property or a toy to amuse himself. Razvan isn't the most articulate with words which is interesting considering how old he is. He always keeps his emotions close to the vest. He inlists Silas' help for Jayden with her powers to be able to control them better. Selina is still her crazy self and she causes quite the problem in this book wanting to get her hands on the seer, Jayden. Poor Akasha is dealing with so much in this book. I wont say it all but Akasha and Jayden are compete opposites but they get along great. :) Will Razvan get to Jayden in time? I will say that jayden does fine Radu and he is pissed she found him. Ok..I swear thats all I'll say! :)

1) First book: Wrenching Fate
2) Second book: Ironic Sacrifice
Red headed beauty Jayden Leigh is cold, tired and going silently insane. She has dropped out of college as she has become one of the most powerful psychics on earth. Because everyone she touches bombards her with their memories she cannot work and has lost her apartment. Jayden's mother died in a mental institution and she fears she is headed down that road too. When she comes across a vampire getting ready to "Eat" a woman she offers to exchange the woman's life if he will take her instead. Deadly Gorgeous Razvan Nicholae has looked for powerful seers throughout his lifespan to locate his missing twin brother...and feels Jayden may well be the one to do the deed! His ruthlessness prompt him to mark her and make her his "pet" an "Ironic Sacrifice", dining and sex along with her "power", what more could he ask for? As time with her grows, so too does his softer side come out, though he does not "see" it. But lurking in the sidelines is an insane vampire with her own desire to acquire Jayden. Hold tightly to what you love, for it can disappear in a second!
Vampires with souls, humans with power, a writer with style that makes you crave more! These are all within the "Ironic Sacrifice" pages! Join me once again with praises to the magnificent Brooklyn Ann.
3) Third book: What's next? I know I can't wait!

As much as I loved Silas, I loved Razvan much, much more he was more my style. I mean the boy had manners which did surprise me, "no, I think not. You amuse me too much right now. And I would at least prefer to have you fed and bathed first." He's possessive, "you are mine," he said simply and cut off her reply with his kiss." Even thought Razvan was a total bada** he had a vulnerable side when it came to his lady and what he thinks her actions might be, and that was my favorite side of him well besides the passionate one but with me, me liking that side is a given, "it is from my home county." He looked down at her, his dark eyes inscrutable. "Jayden, after your shower, I would like to talk with you about...well...I would like to talk." I can't wait to see whose up next I'm kinda in the dark where in Silas's book we sort of guessed whose book was next with this one not so much.

(Romance is graded on a curve.)
3.5 stars
In Ironic Sacrifice we again have a more-or-less stand-alone paranormal romance with a bit of urban fantasy thrown in for good measure. The latter continues from Book One, Wrenching Fate, but doesn't develop very far.

"And the queen shall seek seven night walkers with seven brides to lead their brethren to battle the unholy father," ... "And they will be joined by kin of the queen and those from allied worlds that hear her call."

So, at the end of Book 2, it looks like we'll have to slog through five more vampire romances before we can conclude the subplot. Not sure I have it in me.

Brooklyn Ann has brought us another amazing story in the Brides of Prophecy series.

A great plot and great character interaction. New characters are introduced along with the characters from Wrenching Fate. This book is full of excitement and tension which keeps sucking you further into the story.

Keep up the great work. I can't wait for more.

FULL BLOG POST HERE

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.

Ironic Sacrifice is the second book in the Brides of Prophecy book series.
In this book we meet Jayden who hasn’t had an easy life after she gained psychic abilities that were slowly driving her mad. She cannot touch anyone or else she’s bombarded by a huge wave of memories and thoughts. All of that inside her head becomes too much for Jayden and leads her to think of suicide and then it’s when we get to meet our sexy vampire Razvan.
He’s our typical (yet cinnamon roll) cocky guy who knows he has a perfect body and no women can resist him. Although Razvan has all those traits that we can find in several other cocky characters, he’s quite different from all of the other and not just because he’s a vampire.

Since I don't want to spoil you guys I won't say any more specific details about the characters but let's talk about what I thought of the book,

I've been kinda in a reading slump so for me to get out of it isn't that easy and this book actually made me want eat books again. I actually ate this book in less than 24 hours so I think by now you already know what my thoughts on this book are.
I completely loved it and the more I read the more pages I wanted this book to have. I was totally immersed in this world of vampires, seeress, mad women, family feud, missing brothers and so on.

This is not just another vampire book even if it has a hot and manly one. This book is full of drama, action, romance, emotions and a great story not only for the two main characters but all the other characters come with a background as intriguing as Jayden and Razvan.

Give this book a shot and I promise you that you won't regret picking this book up.

Iron sacrifice is a good read for those into paranormal romance. It’s got both the vampires being the bad guys and the good guys which makes it even more interesting than most paranormals. It’s got an unpredictable plot full of suspense, humor, love (obviously), sex, and fantasy. Oh and the twists! You’re in for a lot of surprises once you get yourself hooked on this book like me that’s for sure. If you’re into vampires, kind of like the vampire diaries, where they choose to try not to kill innocent people, then I am so so sure you will love this book. It is so intriguing and the personalities of the characters are so mesmerizing and sexy that there is almost no way you’d regret reading this. I think this is a fun read and one of the best paranormal reads I’ve read in a while (sexiest too).

I loved this second book in this series by Brooklyn Ann about vampires and psychics and of course romance. This story involving vampires was told in a much different viewpoint than the reader usually finds, and that makes it especially enjoyable and entertaining to read. Of course, as with all vampire tales, the reader must be ready for several vividly described blood scenes, and of course, yummy delicious sex scenes as well. I liked this book so much, that I have already added the first book in the series to my TBR pile. This is a rather late voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Reading Deals.

The story of Jayden and Razvan. Is at times funny and quite a romantic one with twists and turns. It lets the great vampire show his true kindhearted nature, and finally find love. And Jayden is also clairvoyant, which could be ideal in finding his missing twin brother. Great book! Ready for next. I know I’m reading them out of order, but it’s like going in for the characters backstory. My favorite characters are Silas and Akasha which seem to be in every book.

really enjoyed reading this book. The story line flowed very well and had all the components that make a book good and enjoyable - suspense, adventure, humor and in the case of a romance book, great chemistry and heat between the two main characters. This is one book I'd definitely re-read.

WOW WOW WOW - I just love love love this series. Nothing like a good vampire story with a little bit of love thrown in!!!

I will start by saying that this is the 2nd book of the Brides of Prophecy series and you really need to read the 1st book of the series (Wrenching Fate) before you read this one. Now that is NOT mandatory but this book will make so much more sense to you if you do!!!

I love the way that Brooklyn Ann incorporates new characters into the story. She takes a lot of time with developing them and describing things so that you literally feel like you are right there in the moment -- and that can seem a little scary in regards to some of the characters in this book. For me, this book has the right amount of love scenes mixed in - but no so many that you feel like you are reading a sex book. I loved Silas in the first book and now am totally impressed with Razvan in this book. I don't write spoilers - but will warn you that it was so good that I literally had to read the whole book in one sitting!! It was so good and I got so into the story that I could NOT put the book down!!! NOW - the wait for the next book of the series to be released - UGH!!

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

I received ironic sacrifice as a review copy. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion.

As a Spokane native, I enjoy a story with real places I can identify The story stretches from Spokane to CdA, with many real places I knew and have been to highlighted (the huge exception is Dempsey's which closed in 2011-- four years before the book was released), It was as well-paced and fun to read as the first book.

I did get tired of hearing Kash's story rehashed more than once (what kind of "friends" give out such personal information, i.e. Akasha's rape?) so there were quite a few places I found redundant, pausing the forward momentum of the plot, especially as the information wasn't needed to advance the storyline at the times (yes, plural, more than once).

Unfortunately, there's still a lot of emphasis on underage drinking, and it was disturbing for friends to dismiss it as "understandable"... seriously? Nice to see some some effort was finally made to address the drinking issue, but it seemed underwhelming, at best. My 3.5 was rounded up as the plot was really good, but due to the drinking and redundancies I don't plan to continue the series.

WOW! I thought book 1 was AMAZING... well so is book 2.
This is not "just another vampire romance"!
Razvan has found a new love Jayden... their story was as riveting as Silas and Akasha's in book 1.
This book was action packed with several things going on. You will NOT put it down til the end.
I am awed by this author. She ROCKS! Brooklyn Ann has another WINNER!
I am off to buy book 3.
WOW! 10 STAR Vampire Suspense Romance! MUST READ!!!!

Hopeless! Jaden believes her life is hopeless. She's a powerful seer, with no control of her gift. Believing she'll go mad, like her mother, she's leaning towards suicide. Until she comes across a vampire, Razvan, who can do the deed for her...
Bewitching, interest grabbing, psychic/
vampire paranormal romance! Characters are well rounded; banter is engaging and action is fast paced.

Great story and great characters. They keep you on your toes. Although you have a somewhat happy ending what happens when his twin comes after him? That leaves you hanging. Would like the answer to that one. But other than that it is a good read. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This works

Vampires as villains and heroes. A tossed salad of normal and paranormal, love, laughter, and suspense. I can easily recommend this book, as it is a well-crafted fantasy, and reads rapidly (as in, it's hard to put down). It is part of a series, and it does leave you wanting the next book. Which is good.

Perfect mix of romance and paranormal shenanigans! This is the second book in this series so I would suggest reading them in order to get the full experience but you can read this first and not be totally lost. If you love vampires and romance with just enough action and adventure this is the series for you.

Out of all the books I've read so far, this one is my favorite. I felt like I could relate to Jayden in a lot of way, and I love Razvan. Absolutely love the chemistry between the two. I was really sad when I finished read the book. Write more, please! <3 :)

Ironic Sacrifice is the second book by Brooklyn Ann that I've read. (I just bought a third.) I love the mix of paranormal, romance, metal, and fantasy with a touch of SciFi thrown in, that this series offers. Her characters are gritty and real, people (and non-humans) who have all the faults of humanity and don't appoligize for it.

In this book we meet Jayden. She's been made homeless by the appearance of her supernatural power. Living in her car, drinking to ease the pain, she decides life is not worth living. When she stumbles upone a strange man in an ally, who seems intent upon killing the woman he holds captive--she offers herself in sacrifice for the undeserving woman. She is plunged into an adventure that will either be her salvation or her doom.

The vampires in these books are all too human. Vampires smoke pipes and use Listerine--who knew?

this series is a fun read. the characters have depth and draw you in. Just buy the rest of the series--you're going to want to read them. all.
