I just can't get over how much Seidlinger changes from one book to another, each startlingly different, new, and masterfully done. The fewer words he uses, the more is conveyed under the surface. This one definitely borders poetry, rapid fire surreal yet clear moments of fatality, motherhood, and blood. Yet, it's surprisingly delicate like thin glass sculpture. I worry that it will shatter when I try to describe it, the only description adequate being the words of the book itself. There are just ...more

Under the skin, breathing beneath the surface a guilt of violence swells, but it also contemplates that there is more. Michael Seidlinger uses quick language (words sharpened for a cut and a stab) to pull emotions from full clips. The book should have came with an empty shell casing.

Seidlinger is becoming one of my favorite authors to follow. If he ever becomes fully aware of his talent, I think the work will suffer. He should continue to just punch away at the keys, ridding himself of one malaise at a time (or creating more).
