Freebie Regency novel, sequel to An Unlikely Duchess. Pleasant and fluffy. Everything I said about the first novel pretty much applies to this one. This one benefitted from a little more intriguing plotline: heroine blew off hero two years ago because her father, who is in failing health, has his heart set on her marrying a guy with a title. Guy takes off for America to mend his broken heart, makes his fortune, and comes back determined to ignore and avoid her for the rest of his days or, if he can't ig ...more

OMG it's hard work being so damn good and polished and prepped for a life you are told you must lead. Caroline has been trained to be a Duke's wife since her early teens. Her parents have engrained in her that she must marry a ranking member of society... a peer. No matter what. Can you imagine?! Her rambunctious, clumsy and not so proper younger and untrained sister had done exactly that! She married a Duke! Now Caroline must do the same.

Caroline was fortunate to fall in love which

I read the first book in this series, An Unlikely Duchess, first. I loved that novel, it was funny, passionate and adventurous with characters loaded with personality. Unfortunately, this second novel in the Ranford series was not nearly as good. It follows Caroline's story the sister of Rebecca from the first book. I just felt like the plot was so just went back and forth with the two main characters misunderstanding each other over and over again. It grew tedious very quickly ...more

No communication, a stupid heroine, and a pathetic hero. I don't understand the great reviews for this book. I love this genre and read it a lot, but this book tested my patience. I gritted my teeth and read it through because I bought it based on the good reviews and the somewhat misleading description. They both loved each other but lied to each other and it went on through the ENTIRE book. If you like unrequited love due to non communication then this book is for you.

I just love books like this!! You want to know what happens with Caroline and Tom and it hooks you right from the beginning. Chemistry and tension between them. Whoa. It's set in regency era. Plus plus. Extra note: I would read An Unlikely Duchess first. It's about her sister but sets the tone for the characters in this one.

Anyone that knows me knows that I HATE unnecessary angst and drama. Well...this book was full of it all the way till the end. Grrrrr...

Ice Queen... Lady Caroline Carrington

I would have loved this book if it weren't for the stupidity from the hero and heroine. They never communicated with each other. Neither of them shared their desires on marriage with her father. And when they finally did, they discovers that Caroline's father would have supported her marrying the man she loved. They coulGrrrrr...

Seeking scandal is never a good thing amongst the ton in regency times -- However, in Nadine Millard’s hands Seeking Scandal has never looked so good!

Lady Caroline has always done exactly what was proper and correct, exactly what was expected of a woman of her station. She wore the mantle of her family and her father’s expectations heavily on her shoulders. In fact two years ago she turned away the man of her dreams, the only man she would ever love, because he wasn’t titled. After y

This book was really a wonderful book. Caroline, who is a tad stuffy in the last book of this series, is determined to be more of a temptress at her second season. Becca, being safely in the hands of the Duke, and all that was happy, it was her turn to cause some scandal. Caroline though could not imagine how to accomplish this. Her sister was loved by the Ton. She was vibrant , and her misdeeds looked upon with out sanction. She on the other hand had always been all that was proper, and what wa ...more

I give this a 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

This book is about how society can play a part in how people can make sure they choice of people.

Caroline was the perfect daughter who was suppose to marry a title son and carry on the title of the family.

Tom was the cousin of of a duke that had married Caroline's sister.

Caroline and Tom had a relationship that only a select few had. They were in love but they couldn't be open because it wasn't society accepted. Tom didn't c

A must to read, if you love Regency romances!
I am a huge fan of Regency romance, and SEEKING SCANDAL was perfect for me to help me discover a new-to-me author Nadine Millard. I am so glad to have found this sweet, charming and refreshing love story of Caroline and Tom. I haven't read her first book, but felt I could read this one alone. It's the romantic love story of Caroline, who fell in love with a man but had refused her heart to accept him. Now, two years after, she is looking for the

Seeking Scandal is a great addition to favorite regencies.

Regency is magical. Seeking Scandal is one proof of that. It elated my romantic feelings and all things tingly.

Nadine Millard has told Tom and Caroline's story in a very beautiful manner that it will get you hooked. From their despairs, to their attraction and to the conclusion of their story, everything is purely romantic. Regency authors like Nadine has a way with words that always make m

This book is brilliant!! Could not put it down! It's full of unsuspected surprises from Caroline! That just keep getting more and more scandalous!!

Tom is as usual devastatingly handsome and mysterious. You get a great insight to how Tom handles Caroline's new attitude to society and her quest to find scandal.

The book is extremely well written and interesting from start to finish. It ties An Unlikely Duchess to the story cleverly and there is still a hint of Rebecca and Edwards relationship thr

Another fantastic book by Nadine Millard! Caroline Carrington has always been known as the "Ice Queen" amongst the ton. She is being forced to marry someone by the end of the Season, someone who has a title, a peer. The problem is she has already lost Tom, the one man she has ever loved. She knows that she will never be able to love anyone else. Since she has to find a groom by the end of the Season, Caroline has decided that it's time to have some fun for once in her life. All she needs is a li ...more

What a great book! The beginning of the book had me in tears, and that's not the only time I cried. Nadine writing is such that you feel what he the characters are feeling. Although Tom and Caroline's story started in book one, you don't have to read it in order to understand what is going on. Caroline rejected Tom due to the pressure she felt from her father to marry a titled man, but she never stopped loving him. Tom left for America after Caroline's rejection in an attempt to get over her. Un ...more
I kept telling myself I wished I would've read the first one about her sister Rebecca & Edward, and after looking on goodreads, I guess I did...wasn't very memorable I guess.

This one was a little better than the first according to my review (since I didn't remember). Loved Tom, he was awesome. Overall good story line, nothing too drama rama, except the constant lack of sharing feelings, and misconceptions. :o) Wished it had been cleaner though.

Moral Note: Lots of innuendos, lot

This was such an entertaining book! I am so glad to have gotten my hands on it!
As a reformed "good girl" I can relate with Caroline for trying so hard to do what her family expects of her, even at the cost of her own happiness... And even more so when she decided Well this is it!
I absolutely LOVE the banter between the 4 main characters, my favorite part...

This book grabs you from the very beginning. It starts off with a heartbreak, not because that is what Caroline wants, but because it's what has been drilled into her, her whole life. Not wanting to disappoint her family, she turns down the only person she has ever been in love with. Two years later, she returns to London for the season, determined to find a husband to avoid the arranged marriage her father has set for her. But what happens when her one and only love shows up too? You will be ch ...more

5 Stars!

To be in a scandal in Regency era is No Joke but in Nadine Millard's book Seeking Scandal, she have shown how powerful LOVED is when it comes to someone's decision.
Caroline grew up to always do what is right and proper until she has fall in love, fight for that love and follow what she thinks is right, regret it and eventually, fight for her love even if that leads into a scandal.
This is a must read book for Regency book lovers and for those who want to try this genre.

Loved this book!! Started it while waiting at the mechanics, so got lots of strange looks from people with the burst of laughs or the tears flowing down my cheeks. You get so swept up into the charaacters, the scenes, the emotions!! It was so hard to put down, that I finished reading it in one day. Of course, I think I missed eating lunch in there and got absolutely nothing else done today!!! It is a must read!!!

This is an absolute must read, I have read this authors first book An Unlikely Duchess and fell in love with the characters and their story and was anxious to see what the second book would bring and I have to say it brought me the same delight and a new love for other characters. Love this author and look forward to reading more from her. Well Done

Cute but really, how many times can characters have a chance to clear up missunderstandings but fail to actually speak to each other and say the truth. It just got to be way to much and not believeable by the end. Not as good as the first book. I did like the characters and the continued relationship of the duke and duchess from the first story, but at some point i was like "just tell each other the truth!"

Her writing style is so amzing and with each word she will touche your heart, soul and mind so much that you can never stop reading once you start . I am not normally a fan of historical novels and prefer more contemporary books but I really enjoyed this! I was worried that I would struggle with my imagination but Nadine’s writing is such that I was drawn in immediately and had to find out the story between Caroline and Tom.

The theme of the book is very much a battle for Caroline between what she wants and what the society of her day expects of her, especially after her sister marries well. Although I haven’t read the first book

I think of this as the author's sophomore slump. The first book in this series was a delight! It is on my list of most enjoyable books. This one, however, didn't live up to my expectations. Caroline had too many occurrences of having her reputation ruined. Those words were repeated often enough but there was never anything really bad about what she did. In that regard, the book was boring. Nothing but a kiss really. And, for goodness sake, Tom and Caroline, talk to each other. Don't assume.

Hey everyone!

I'm Nadine, a writer from County Laois in Ireland.

I’ve been writing historical romance since March 2014 and have no plans to stop!

While my heart belongs to Regency, there are a lot of other genres and ideas fluttering around in my brain so who knows what will happen next?!

When I'm not writing I can be found scurrying around after my three children. Or my dog.
