This book was surprisingly good. I hadn't read the first book in the series and I was very nervous I wouldn't like this book because of that. That was not the case. I really didn't feel like I missed too much. I did however wish I had read the first book first. I will definitely be checking it out now.

I couldn't get enough of this book. I really enjoyed the world Costanzo created. It was a fun paranormal read for me. I love the paranormal and I always love the new twist various authors put on t

"Blood Phoenix: Claimed"
by Alisha Costanzo
4 1/2 Fangs

I received this book from the author and from 'Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock'. This is my honest review.

This book is the second of the "Broken World" series by Ms. Costanzo. The first is "Blood Phoenix: Rebirth." This book is not meant to be read as a stand alone. It is a paranormal novel that delves into the strict world of vampires.

The pacing of the book is fast. The writing was tight and filled with tension. There were no gramma

Since I did not read the first book in this series, I am lost on what went on before the beginning of this one. Ria was recently turned into a vampire under the control of Queen Phea. Her mentor, Gene, is helping her gain and control her powers – powers that the queen, the other vamps, and even Gene fear are becoming too strong for such a young and newly turned vampire. Ria is forced to play by the rules when she must attend vampire boot camp and go by all the rules and laws the queen deems fit. ...more

I did not read the first book in this series before being gifted a copy of this book and it greatly impacted my understanding of the storyline. I understood maybe 25% of the who, what, when, where, and whys of this story and definitely recomend reading book one first.

Ria is a newly turned vampire under the control of some sort of queen though I couldn't understand why this queen had so much power and why those how didn't like her didn't just leave. Ria has powers she's trying to learn t

I very much recommend reading the First book in this series First. In my case I did not, I'm on tour with this book and I didn't get the opportunity to read the first book.

With skipping the first book in any series, it will cut the experience and full knowledge of who, what, when and where in some cases.

However, it did not deter me and this was absolutely a wonderful paranormal read! I really enjoyed the world that was laid in my mind and the characters were also amazing. Paranormal is my favor

Wife of a disabled veteran, Alisha Costanzo writes about PTSD, environmentalism, violence, and conformity. With a mutually-fueled passion to change the world one person at a time, she often writes about her husband’s rants, conspiracy theories, and trains of logic that seem absurd until the connections line up, and mixes them into her obsession with cooking, coffee, and pop-culture monsters.
