Avery Patterson’s literally not the girl she used to be.

A past that haunted her for years turned out to be based on a lie. Her father was not an evil man. He loved Avery enough to die for her, and now she’s determined to live for him. She owes him that much, and so much more. Ever since she was fourteen, Avery’s been running and hiding from every challenge she’s faced with

Title: Summer
Series: Four Seasons #2
Author: Frankie Rose
Release date: February 2, 2016
Cliffhanger: No
HEA(view spoiler)

Summer is the conclusion to Winter, which I read exactly two years ago. I absolutely loved that story, it was a solid 5 star read for me, so it goes without saying that I've been impatient to read this book. Winter had the whole package for me, angst, intriguing characters, mystery, sizzling hot chemistry, and unpredictable twists. Although it en

Hmm... The book cover confused and intrigued me at the same time. As I mentioned in my review of Winter, I can never resist a guitar on a book cover. The author took me on another ride in Summer, but it wasn't on a tour bus.

The band, D.M.F., is in CA preparing to make a name for themselves. They need to write music and record to meet their contractual obligation to MVP. And as we already know, Luke is the song writer of the band. He expresses his feelings in lyrics, whether it

I'm having some mixed feelings about this book. Don't get me wrong, I really liked the book, but maybe because I was totally blown away with Winter, I think this one just didn't quite match up to it. In book one I loved the fact that I had absolutely no idea about a certain turn of events. How it always left me guessing. With this one however, I didn't think there was quite enough to sink my teeth into. With Summer, there's a very different feel to it. Luke has headed to LA to embark on a year l ...more

Writing review now!!!

After reading and loving Winter, I couldn’t wait to read the conclusion to Avery and Luke’s story but just when you think their problems are behind them, Luke’s past come back to haunt him.

After the mystery surrounding Avery’s father’s death was resolved at the end of Winter, we thought, or at least hoped, that Avery and Luke could finally move on with their lives. Luke, now on a sabbatical from his police job, is in LA trying to see whether D.M.F. have what it takes to become successful but wit

How will I tell you the way I felt wile I was reading this book without spoil it? First of all if you haven't read Winter, the first book in this series, you really should, because this book will explain a few things, answer some questions and give some flashbacks regarding the first book. I was so excited to have this book to read once i finished reading the first one because, if didn't have it, i would be a wreck waiting for it.
I had a roller coaster of emotions while I was reading Summer bec

I received a complimenty copy of this book through Crazy Cajun Book Addicts for an honest review.

Summer is the follow up to Winter (Book 1) and at first it seems Avery and Luke can finally make a go of their relationship and be happy but life's just not that easy. Luke and his band D.M.F are on their way to making it big and they move to LA for a year leaving Avery back in New York. Luke and Avery are determined that nothing can pull them apart but what happens when demons from Luke's past start

I'm 20% into this book and already so pissed off, it makes me wanna to smack the author!

He just dumps her cold, after promising her forever, because he's having bad dreams?!!! FOR FUCK SAKE! If this was a paperback, I'd throw it across the room! I don't know how I finished it or even WHY!

When was there time to have a murder trial? Avery was in the hospital for weeks, then Luke left for L.A. shortly after she was released (not to mention when the hell did he recoved from a gunshot wound to the c

Summer (Four Seasons #2) by Frankie Rose is the follow up to Winter (Four Seasons #1). I didn’t read Winter first, and I would advise that readers read these books in order for maximum appreciation. The start of Summer jumps right into an intimate scene that felt abrupt since I had not read the previous book in the series.

Avery and Luke’s intense passion continues from the end of Winter. After a short visit to see Luke in L.A., Avery is back to New York with the only worry being how to maintain

Be still my poor heart. Holly .... I am struck speechless. I think I was going to go crazy when I was half finished. I think I was going to have to write a letter to the author and let me tell you it would not have been filled with love and appreciation. Thankfully I took my time and finished the book and then took a little more time to calm my self and after the emotional rollercoaster raging in me.

It has been such a long time since I felt so much anger, frustration, sadness, fear and happines

Summer I'd the second book in the Four Seasons series, so to understand this book I suggest you read Winter first.

We begin "Summer" with Luke taking a year sabbatical from the NYPD to help his fellow band members to promote them in LA.
Avery has enrolled in college, in New York, to study Journalism.

As Luke and Avery start off with a long distance relationship and are enjoying life until past demons emerge for Luke and he feels like he cannot maintain a safe environment for Avery.

A wonderful conclusion to Avery Patterson and Lucas Reid's story. Lucas goes off to LA with the band to give them a year to try to get a record label to take them on and become a popular and successful band. He felt that he should give his bandmates and friends a chance to reach their dreams. His love for Avery never waivers but his belief in himself and the terrible things he experienced growing up make him question if being with her is good for her. So he stops talking to her and contacting he ...more

Avery (Iris) and Luke, linked through a terrifying ordeal and both living with pasts that will have lasting memories and nightmares. Ultimately they are in love and determined to be strong, stay together and live happily ever after. Luke is in turmoil, unable to share his darkest fears and secrets leaving Avery devastated and heartbroken. When news from their hometown comes calling them back to relive their worst nightmares again. A great story I can't wait for more.

The first book, Winter, was sooo good. I have to say I was disappointed in this book. I get that Luke has things he needs to work through but between Luke and Avery there was just way too much drama. Avery in particular got on my last nerve. The same thing with DMF. It was just too much.

Frankie Rose was born in the United Kingdom, but now lives with her husband in sunny Australia.

She officially makes things up for a living, and when she's not doing that, she is generally making paper birds out of receipts and old lists or taking photographs that make her smile.
