An excellent debut, Laura Lexington shares a beautifully written story about strength and love.

This isn’t my typical read, but I loved it nonetheless. It was definitely a welcome surprise. While this book doesn’t focus on a “new” romance. The love between this couple can hold its own with any budding romance. It’s not often that I read about a married couple and get giddy with butterflies, but these two were hot and adorable.

There were so many layers to this story and I really enjoyed them all.

The Storm is such a perfect title for this book. I kept thinking about this quote while reading "Life Isn't About Waiting for the Storm To Pass It's Learning To Dance In The Rain" - that is exactly what Jana did.

Jana has a great life - perfect as it would seem. Jana has a loving husband, great career and great friends. As we are always told when things seem to good to be true they usually are. Jana finds herself unemployed, treated unfairly and fighting to be strong. This is a great story that w

One of my favorite things about reading is finding a new author to enjoy. It was pleasure through a book blog I follow to be introduced to The Store, the debut novel from author Laura Lexington.

One of the strongest things about The Storm for me is that the characters felt very real. Being able to feel as though you can personally identify with something about the characters in a book makes for a stronger connection to the story. Jana works for Covington Company selling medical devices. She has w

This quote from the book perfectly depicts the essence of The Storm. This debut novel from Laura Lexington is not like my usual read. At least not for the past months. And I appreciate the heads up from the author, it set me up for a neutral and open mind rather than going in expecting a full on romance just from the synopsis and ended up feeling let down.

What a beautifully written book. I rarely read Woman’s Fiction, I’m more of a Romance fan but I am so glad I did. This really drew me in and held me captive, even when I wasn’t reading I found myself thinking about these characters; that really is the sign of a great book.

We follow hard working and successful Jana Cook as she struggles through a shocking amount of gender discrimination at the hands of her colleagues and boss, made worse by her pregnancy at the start of a promotion with

What a debut novel this was! I cannot say enough good things about The Storm. This is about Andrew and Jana Cook and what a wonderful love they have. This is my favorite excerpt from the book and there is no spoiler:

After kissing Jana Andrew said "I'm a smart man, Jana. When I asked you to marry me , I told you that you would never feel unloved. I meant it."

"How are we different from other couples? We've been through so much, and we have so many differences...but we still want each other." Jana

Hurry. Hurry and go one-click The Storm. I’m planning on writing a full review, but I want to get straight to the point ASAP – GO ONE-CLICK THE STORM!

In our little world full of dominant CEO’s, hot musicians, and gritty motorcycle clubs, The Storm is so unique and stands out from the rest. I mean, I love Kellan Kyle to the point that it’s maybe a bit obsessive and I would gladly go in Christian’s Red Room of Pain with him, but sometimes it’s nice to think outside the norm. Two successful people

The premise of this story scares me...does this kind of thing still happen? Have we not evolved yet? Why is it that the Boys Club can still exist?

Jana is a successful Sales Rep for a medical device company. She has worked diligently to achieve her high standards and the respect of her colleagues and customers.

Jana is happily married to Andrew who is also successful in his field. He is supportive and loving...and all that Jana has ever dreamed of. The icing on the cake would be a child to comple

Review for THE STORM by Laura Lexington

5 stars

Jana had a wonderful, a full life. A handsome, sexy, loving husband. Good friends. The only thing she could wish for was to be back in her hometown with her husband raising a family. After much work, saving and planning, she finally had it all. Well, almost all that is. She still was not ready to start a family. But Andrew had
different ideas. She would always remember that little voice saying,"be what you ask for."
Her life in her dream house in her

I found this to be a lovely read, very down to earth but very realistic. A well written book about not only having the perfect life but the perfect love, lose, tragedy, and rebuilding one’s life and getting over ones disappoints and injustice. While enforcing love, friendships, parenting and standing up for what you believe in.

Jana finds out what being tough is all about and finds she is stronger then she thinks she is. One must loose almost everything before one truly understands how lucky the

An amazing read for a debut novel! Laura Lexington takes the reader on a journey of ups and downs as the heroine is faced with dramatic events that slowly and meticulously pull the reader into the next page. Once everything comes crashing down for Jana Cook (the heroine) the plot twist will leave you craving the next story!

I adored the characters in the story. The primary characters are already married and it’s a nice change to start a story with characters who have been together for a long tim

The Perfect Job and friends she could count on.

One thing though...she wanted to be closer to her family. When the opportunity came up to move back they made it happen.
They found the perfect house.
They were now home near their family's. The perfect time to start a family, her husband thought.

But when it rains, it pours...or in Jana's world, boulders fell from the sky.

Okay so without giving anything away I will try to share my feelings on this story

I was asked to read and review this first-time author's novel. The synopsis immediately caught my interest, but I knew it would be a bit varied from my normal read.
I am VERY impressed, especially when I consider this is Lexington's first novel. Her style is catchy, witty, and kept my attention. She made me laugh, made me cry, made me wonder. There is a lot going on in this novel, but she weaved it together well.
As a working mom myself, I know exactly how Jana felt as she dealt with her issues

I truly believe every woman who's a mother and a worker should read this. Does that mean this book is only about the trials and tribulations of being a working mom? Of course not. It's about a woman who's struggling to fight for her own rights as a woman in the workforce in a male dominated career path. Jana struggles to overcome the sexism and be there for her friend who is struggling with her own mental issues. I found this book to be something I'll always keep on my shelf for when I

First novels are not only hard to write, they're hard to rate. I wish there was a 4.5 star category, because I more than liked this book. That being said, as with many first novels, there were a few glitches, but the story far outweighed anything detrimental in the text. Lexington tackled some of the hardest subjects there are to broach in a novel, like mental illness and sexual discrimination, and handled both of them with skill and grace. The story moves along without pause, taking the reader ...more

First of all, let me just say Laura Lexington is a debut author in sheep's clothing. In other words, this debut holds every element of a seasoned writer and I can't wait to read what's next!!

I love how REAL the characters are, and LOVE reading a smokin' love story between married characters. Too many people believe romance straight-up dies following the honeymoon, and I'm thrilled to see a story where that's simply not the case.

God whispers, Jana Cook tells us. Even in the midst of the storm, He's there. Despite losing the job she loved and entering into the fight of her life, Jana continues to believe and listen for the whisper. And I believed in Jana. She came to life through Lexington's eloquent prose. I cried Jana's tears and felt her worries.
