At the Edge of the World is a fantastic YA novel, in the great tradition of book for younger people that appeal to adults as well. The beautiful writing compels you along the pages and the mystery of the world sucks you right in.
Shane is an unusual protagonist, but so loveable. It's hard not to root for him, and maybe want to shake him a little to just get it all together! But he fits the scenery, the detail rendered so lovingly.
