Out of all the mysterious boarders who call Sanctuary home, no one is more antisocial or withdrawn than Maxis Drago. But then, it’s hard to blend in with the modern world when you have a fifty foot wingspan.

Centuries ago, he was cursed by an enemy who swore to see him fall. An enemy who took everything from him and left him forever secluded.

But Fate is a bitch, with a wick

1 Why do I keep doing this to myself Stars!

Did I just pay 14.99 to feel like a idiot? Really why do I keep doing this to myself? I have read every book in the Dark Hunter Series, so what 24 books, not counting the novellas I have read. The last few book have gotten more and more over the top and confusing. I feel like I need a Masters Degree in Mythology just to read these books anymore. This is me trying to keep up with all the

4 You Really Can't Fail Completely With SK Stars

What can I possibly say about Sherrilyn Kenyon that I haven't already said in the previous 23 DH books? SK is one of my favorite authors and her stories always manage to combine humor, originality, drama and witty dialongs in an alsmost addictive way.

This book was no exception. Both Seraphina and Max were prime examples of what SK can do with her characters and the fact that they weren't the one I wanted to read about didn't take anything out of th

I told you when we mated that I would gladly give you my heart, my life, and my love, but that when I did so they came with one condition. Never abuse me. Love is not abuse. And you have harmed me for the last time, my lady. I am done with you. Forever.

Hmm...I understand that Amazons are supposed to be tough bitches, but honestly sometimes this is too much! I think Seraphina was too easily forgiven. She humiliated Max. She trea

When you develop a long history with a series you have loved the way I've loved this one, it's hard to let go. But sometimes, it's the best choice. I feel like I've said, "this is the last one" to myself a fair number of times, only to get sucked back in by my memories of stories past. (Dance With the Devil, anyone?) But the thing is, even when one kind of brings back the glory days the way The Guardian did, I'm getting to the point where it all feels recycled. Even the good stuff, done so many ...more

I guess after writing 41 books in a series it’s possible that one may become a bit tired of keeping up with a complex world filled with even more varied and complex characters. And even when I tell myself that I am done with the

Dark Hunter Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon, I just keep going back….just hoping that this may be a SHINY one!!! Maybe it’s another epic like Acheron or Styxx!!!!

Sadly, Dragonbane, the latest entry into the glorious DH’s world is not a shiny one…not even close!!!! Talk about

"Sherrilyn Kenyon delivers another fun, exciting and passionate love story in DRAGONBANE."

This rating was very difficult. I actually kind of liked the story. Because I read this entire series over the past 2 months I was able to handle the complexity of the story. But it did draw on several of the past books and was super convoluted.

For this book, however, I am not sure I have ever hated a heroine more. Sure - I dislike bunches of them. But this one takes the supreme cake. The ONLY thing she did right in her life was NOT cheat on her mate. But EVERYTHING else was unforgivable.

Leave it to me to pick up a book from the sale bin and jump into the middle of a very long series. (Dragonbane being book number nineteen). But with flashbacks woven into the story, I wasn’t lost reading this as a stand-alone.

The story centers on Maxis and his brother dragons, plus his crew of were-hunters. All hell breaks loose when Seriphina, former mate of Maxis, reappears. The last time they were together she had turned him over to her Amazon queen to endure a harrowing experience, and a th

I remember when I first realised a dragon lived above Santuary and just how curious about his place in the Dark hunters world I was. Then nothing really seemed to come of that snippet until recently the author seems to be revisiting her roots . I know a lot of readers will be surprised by the story featuring Maxis and possibly just a teensy bit disappointed because there are several characters waiting in the wings and readers have been clamouring for their stories. What Ms Kenyon has done here t ...more

2.5 (audiobook) I am struggling to say something about this book in the series. I was really excited to read the dragon book, and boy was I disappointed. I love this series each book has it's own fire and spice this one just felt unseasoned. I was never on the edge of my seat with anticipation, never got that tingle in my toes at the smexy bits and I didn't develop any cares about the main characters. I could have quit reading (listening) to it at any point, I just didn't care. There was somethi ...more

Maxis Drago is a man wronged. The cause of some of his pain is his mate, Sera, who has never fully accepted him for the dragon he really is.

Maxis, fed up with never coming first, being an outcast, and many other negative things, sets out to live a life of celibacy and peace.

Only problem with that is that Maxis has made some very powerful people angry.

In comes Sera back into his life and needing his help to save the children he knew nothing about.

Sera really didn't pull at my heartstr

Maxis Drago's world is turned upside-down when his drakos mate and Amazon warrior Seraphina returns to him and begs for his help after their Dragonet children are captured by demons who want to use the Dragonbane to destroy the world. Will Maxis help her even though her Amazon tribe caused him pain and suffering? Read on and find out for yourself.

Let me start of by saying I have read every other book in this series, all of the CoN, everything or so I thought. I seriously thought I was up to date with this series, but I was completely lost throughout most of the book. I remember very little about Maxis, he took the memories from some humans in an earlier book I think, and I know even less about the objects several of the dragons are protecting (which really means I know nothing). I feel i should mention Sera really quick, except good the ...more

Dragonbane, wish it was more than 20 chapters! This book wasn't enough for me. All of Ms. Kenyon's books should have uncountable chapters. Period. Dragonbane was terrific. We have met Maxis Drago many times in previous books. The quiet dragon that lives in the attic in Sanctuary that Peltiers' own, has quite the history. In the latest book, Son of No One, his young brother who was trapped in another world, reuinted with his brother Ma

God, it feels so good to read Sherrilyn Kenyon’s writing again! I didn’t even realize I missed her style. Her Dark-Hunters/Were-Hunters are wicked cool. The interactions between them are fun and highly entertaining. The best compliment I can give for Sherrilyn Kenyon’s excellent writing and plotting is, she’s got fantastic, blow-your-mind style.

This new Dragon trilogy set in the Dark Hunter world is even more exciting than the previous books. I loved Dragonbane the first time I read it and the s

Well, all good things must come to an end. This series has given us some very memorable characters and awesome books: Acheron, Zarek, Wren, Nick, to name a few. However, instead of going out on top like Seinfeld, the last few books in this series have languished to the point that this one doesn't even feel like part of the series. I like lists, so here's my list of all the things that went wrong in this book.

1) There is only so much cross-over a reader can stand. This book mixed Avalon lore with

Its Max's book but upon reading the blurb it says "the wife he thought had died centuries ago" well that's like Styxx and Bethany's Love story or like Talon and Sunshine sort of, cos Sunshine was a reincarnation or or Sundown and Abigail but at least they dont know their past life that they were together because they're bound to be separated by curse. So I don't know where Maxis story will lead to and what will impact the series.

I really didn’t want to like this book enough to rate it four stars. Maxis Drago, the Dragon living with the Peltiers at Sanctuary is hot, mysterious and exude power. As I got to know him midway of the story, I started to get annoyed. He was loyal to the bone and romantic to boot, and he was tortured, abused, and hurt beyond measures. Though this dragon is strong enough to retaliate and stand up for himself, he let things happen. Then the culprit of his misery comes back after thousands of yea

Ever wonder why a dragon is hanging out at Sanctuary? Yeah me too and in book 25 of her famed Dark Hunter Series, Sherilyn Kenyon tells us why.

Back in New Orleans life is looking good. Fang and Aimee are about to become parents, Sanctuary has been rebuilt and the world seems slightly normal. You know normal for a group of Weres, Dark Hunters, gods and demons.. but then an enemy appears that none of them have ever seen before. A t

I was introduced to Sherrilyn Kenyon when I was handed a free Dark Hunter novel at San Diego Comic Con International back in 2008 and I have been a fan since. I have read most of the Dark Hunter series as well as Kenyon's "League" and "Chronicles of Nick" series, so I was excited to see that a new DH novel had been released at the beginning of this month, August 2015.

This novel centered on the story of Maxis and Seraphina, however a number of scenes were set in Sanctuary, Olympus, Irkal

Lucky Me! I was at the Dragonbane release party Saturday evening in Chicago, so I was able to buy the book and read it before it comes out tomorrow. Honestly, I think that its been her best work besides Styxx since Acheron was released. I really enjoyed it and we learn so much about the beginnings of the Were-Hunters and see Nick in action and holy crap! Yes, thank you, I loved it!

I feel this story was too rushed. I liked it and loved seeing my old friends at Sanctuary, but felt Max and Sera's story was just not enough for me. I would have liked to have read a lot more about them.
