EVEN THOUGH THIS BOOK IS SOMEWHAT OLD, IT STILL CONTAINS VALUABLE AND PRACTICAL ADVICE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE BLESSED WITH A TYPE A PERSONALITY. INCLUDES A CHART FOR ANALYZING YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND LOTS OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO SLOW DOWN AND REST AND NOT RELY UPON THE RUSH OF ADRENALIN ALL THE TIME TO GET YOU THROUGH THE DAY.

Not much new for me in this book, but I like his perspective.

Some interesting information here but not exciting or new, in my opinion. He blames "stress hormones" for heart disease, stroke, and many other serious conditions. No argument there. By stress hormones he means to include corticosteroids and catecholamines, not just adrenalin. He shows how to identify adrenalin addiction, how to monitor adrenalin arousal, and how to manage it by slowing down and learning to relax. He says of stress that we "bring it on ourselves." Sometimes, sure, but not always.

Important stuff, but nothing new. He has a religious slant and often quotes St. Paul or the Bible, but his science seems to be sound. In chapter two he presents endocrinology, a difficult topic, in understandable terms.
