Asher thought he was doing the right thing wiping her memory and keeping his distance. It's breaking his heart and with things coming to an end soon, harder is all it's going to get. She knows something. Her instincts are calling to him. But when all is said and done she will be alive and hopefully so will he.
Addy has fallen into a world of monsters and fighting. She knows she is important to the end but doesn't know how and no one can help her. Except for her mentor. A

Oh what a read! Midnight Dawn by Jocelyn Adams was one emotionally charged, action packed, unmissable read that deserves multiple high fives!

This book could not be put down! For those that have read the first instalment of The Mortal Machine series, Darkside Sun, know the ending of the first book was an absolutely heart wrenching read and had readers waiting in anticipation for the second instalment of the series - which did not disappoint.

Asher and Addison pull so many heart strings and leave y

Think The Mortal Instruments minus the incest and with a much more complex storyline. Adams brings a brand new world to the page, one that may have readers second guessing their beliefs. And while Addison may still be viewing everything through lust-filled eyes, she has finally decided to be the Architect she was always meant to be. Though a lot of her obsessive musings about a man who seemingly wants nothing to do with her, and

Holy crap on a crack!!! Asher and his stupid nonsense, thinking he could wipe Addison's memories and just be ok. But it's ok, cuz Addison is smarter than him LOL. Asher's got the heartbreak down in this one. Addison is still learning, and she's learning well. She's becoming a masterpiece and Asher has to keep his distance. And then of course Addison starts figuring some things out for herself. And they both have to make it out of this mess alive with all the fighting and monsters, wraiths, and m ...more

This concept was exciting and new to me. The main plot of the story has Addy and Asher in a constant battle of whits. When Addy decides shes had enough of Asher's condescending ways a new revelation is brought forth. The supporting characters bring a wonderful undertone to an already hypnotic adventure.

I have to say that I am more invested into the story than I originally thought I would be. The cast of characters are appealing and I wait anxiously for Addy and Asher to finally get their acts to

Okay so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book after reading the 1st book and this book didn't disappoint. This story picks up where the last one left off and it is amazing because the storyline that Jocelyn created is one you can't help but get lost in. It's new and interesting and just sucks you in from the very beginning. Our main characters are Asher and Addison and the war that is about the happen (again) with the Wraith King. So much information is given to you in this book that you ...more

After some torturous months of waiting, I got to finally read this second book of Mortal machine Trilogy and I am quite satisfied with the outcome. In the beginning we get to see Addy as a newly minted Architect of the machine. Asher on the other hand came back to his usual hard to reach self and this makes it difficult for the two especially her when she thinks there is something more between them but after her memory was swiped by him, she is being haunted by dreams of an older man she thinks ...more

I couldn't breathe at times (or set the book down) from the first page until the last page. This is the perfect example of a five-star read in the new adult genre.
Was the book perfect? No, very few are, but the negatives got buried beneath the non-stop action and constant tension.
The story begins three weeks after Darkside Sun (book one in the series) ends. Readers could pick up this book and follow the story, but much of the tension that exists because of what happened at the end of the first b

After the heart wrenching turn of events at the end of Darkside Sun, Midnight Dawn picks up with Asher hiding his heartbreak and Addison trying to piece together the memories she is missing, whilst finding her feet in her newly discovered position in the Machine.

After that heartbreaking ending to Darkside Sun, I was so excited to read Midnight Dawn and it did not disappoint. I loved it, but at the same time I was so frustrated by Asher. It's obvious that what he did was wrong and that they're meant to be together so I really wanted to scream at him. Addison doesn't know why she feels such attraction to Asher (although we do), and it was definitely different to read a book where the main character doesn't know an

Oh my I have got to say even though this is the second book in this series it still was quite easy to get into and follow plus this is the first time reading anything from this author for me. I say oh my because this contains quite a unusual storyline that as soon as you begin it you are so intrigued with the idea of it all. The characters are larger than life with the color needed for this story with a world and war going on that the average joe has no idea. That is what and why I like it the p ...more

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! Loved this story. The characters were great, storyline was action packed and unique, and the secondary characters add a lot to the story. This is the second book in the series but it can be read as a stand alone. Though if you do read this first you will be going back to read the first just to enjoy more of the story. Can't wait to read the third book.

I LOVE THIS SERIES! I did not find out about it until book 3 came out, so I read the whole series in one weekend because I couldn't put it down. There is info overload in this series, so it is absolutely one you have to read in order, and in some parts reread because the author builds an entire world and it can be a lot to take in.

Midnight Dawn continues right where Darkside Sun ended. Addision is confused, and trying to figure her life out. This time for different reasons. This time because As
I had a really hard time with this one. I love the concept of the different dimensions and the alien bug-like creatures trying to invade ours. just seems to have gotten a little too big for itself. I can tell the book is trying to ramp the plot line for an epic conclusion, but along the way, it just falls a little flat. It seems like the story is constantly trying to out-do itself over and over again.

Eventually, I started to fall into the story a little, but I couldn't really start to l

Midnight Dawn picks up a bit after Darkside Sun ends. I didn’t love this installment as much as I enjoyed the first one but it definitely wasn’t bad. There were a lot of events going on which kept me reading. This novel incorporates more of the wraiths as well as Addison’s role as the Architect. We finally find out exactly what that means. The pacing was good in this novel. It wasn’t slow and it wasn’t so fast that it was hard to keep up with. I think, really, the only thing keeping me from

I'm so torn!!! I want to love this book, there are so many reason TO love this book, but on the same hand there are so many problems with the background to the story and to parts of the story itself that it's hard to.
Firstly, the characters...LOVE the characters. They're funny, endearing, real and take you on such a rollercoaster ride that at times all you can do is ho

I really liked book 1 in this trilogy and those who have read it will know it ended with a sucker punch to the gut for those who had been "shipping" Addison and Asher. Like I had been. How book one ended made me want to cry for them both, and things between them for a good portion of this book are as fraught with heartache as you can imagine.

Luckily, that level of hurt, of push and pull was just what I was in the mood for when I embarked on reading Midnight Dawn otherwise this review might have

I really enjoyed this book. What a great addition to the series! Lots of action, and a new hero to swoon over, as well as an old one to scream at and want to slap. (while you wait, crying for him to come to his senses.)

This book has everything a book two should have. Building on all the old characters, introducing more, and really deepening the story.

My only quip is that there was a little too much "Preparation" for me leading up to the "boss battle". I guess it is that I'm an action junkie, but

This is the second book in the Mortal Machines series and it's another "more than five star" rating for this very satisfied reader. What a ride! The writing skill of this author is amazing. This book played like a movie in my head as Soldiers became Sentinels and bonds were formed. A family was formed. Beautiful! Asher and Addison fought so hard. It all came down to the last minute.

Brilliant storytelling! A sci-fi paranormal romance like no other. I am so excited to read the next book, Forever
This is an action-packed fantasy novel that combines great writing with excellent characters. Adams presents a world for Addison and company that seems plausible enough to scare you into wondering what would happen if it were true. Even though I didn't read the first one, I didn't feel like I had missed too much. All my questions were eventually answered, and the ending was neatly done. Not everything was perfect, but everyone's fate was included before the final page.

Asher and Addison are back and dealing with everything they have to deal with. It had humor, tension and fun and a whole lot of likeable characters and definitely filled with a lot of action and set in a unique world, you actually like. Some of the supporting characters though and there are a few your not to sure what to make of them. You just want to see if the way the story ends, once you start and you won't be disappointed. So if you get a chance, check it out.
