RATING: Somewhere between 2 and 3 HEARTS

This was okay. Nothing too over top, but nothing special either. The addition of dragon shifters makes the overall plot of the story seem interesting, and adds just the right amount of "attention-grabbing" to the same old story that has been done over and over again. Both the main characters are easily likeable. We have Tristan, the moody, alpha male who hates humans, yet can't get enough of Melanie. And Melanie, a strong-willled, funny, and totally feisty

Dragon Love?

I really enjoyed this story, I just wish it had been longer, but I'm on my way to read the next. I am hooked on this series.

What will happen to Mel now that she has arrived at the clan and met the elusive, but very imposing and handsome Tristan.

What will happen to the very imposing Dragon shifter Tristan who swore not to get emotionally involved, now that he has met this feisty human. One his Dragon wants.

I can't wait to start book 2 in this very compelling story.

Very good start to

I enjoyed Ms. Donovan's world of dragon shifters, but I was hoping to learn more about the dragons. Melanie has sacrificed herself to the Stonefire Dragons. She will attempt to safely deliver a child in return for dragon blood that will heal her brother. Triston, the dragon, is not keen on humans but must comply. The story had a few surprises and clever conversation from Triston's inner dragon. I think his inner dragon was my favorite character. There is plenty of hard-headed drama and steam ...more
Review of he series as a whole:

In an alternate reality, Scotland's dragon shifter clans have been hunted to near extinction by poachers who keep them as hunting trophies. Others covet them for their blood, which has healing abilities.

Due to their low numbers and birth rates, dragons need biologically compatible human women to bear their offspring. These women - known as "sacrifices" - enter into a 6 month contract and are assigned to one dragon male. In case of impregnation, the woman must stay

You know... someone needs to take away the buy with one click setting from me when it comes to free ebooks or kindle deals. Cuz ALL I saw when I decided to download this was "hot English guys who shift into dragons" and thought "OOOH!" and bought it (for 99c)

THEN I read the blurb and was like oh shit. What have I done?

But honestly, not too bad. I expected worst. Don't like that a story this predictable is being done in installments. Same old story, guy hates humans because of past, woman comes

Melanie Hall is sacrificing herself to the dragon shifters to have a baby by Tristan MacLeod one of the dragon shifters. Her brother Oliver is dying and Dragon's blood will heal him.

The Stonefire Dragon Clan has an agreement with the British Government that they will provide blood which heal all sorts of human ailment that cant be cured in the human tradition method, in exchange for human women who are willing to bare them babies. The Dragons are on the brink of extinction because they have
My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

The cover is awesome and what attracted me to buying this….well is 40ish pages a novella or a short story. I’ve never been good at what the line is.

Okay I always start with the things I think people need to know or would like to know. This is a 4 part serial, and it is NOT all out yet. It doesn’t take long to read this because it is under 50 pages. I bought this because heck it was only 99 cents, and for this price I will try a new author and

To save her brother, Melanie sacrifices six months of her life to a broody alpha dragon…who hates humans in this mesmerizing dragon shifter romance.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot captivates readers with a fascinating new world of dragons. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination while the strong compelling characters grab the reader’s attention and draw them into the story.

Melanie ensnares the reader right from the beginning with her love and loyalty to her brother

I have read a lot of shifter books in the couple of years that I've really gone all out to read, and I have to say sacrificed to the Dragon is the start of an amazing shifter series and to top it off it's the ultimate beasts. DRAGONS.

Jessie Donovan has created the perfect setting of a series with this book, starting with a strong but mysterious storyline, where it leaves you questioning what happened before and what will happen next, but leaves you satisfied with what your left with.

I won't go
Predictable plot. I kept reading because the heroine does not suffer from angst and isn't into drama. She has guts; i wish the author had given her more to conquer or cope with.

Wow - I had no expectations coming into this book, but Jessie Donovan blew me away! This novel actually had a story - and a good, believable one at that! The internal logic of the plot held up throughout. This was a very well written series. The prose was fluid, the pacing was just perfect, and the characters were well developed.

In fact, the characters were so full-fledged, Jessie Anderson doesn't even stint on developing the personalities of the secondary characters! You get a strong sense of
I enjoyed and loved the story much more than I thought I would. This was the first dragon shifter story where the main character in the story was a dragon shifter and it took my by surprise! The author did a marvelous job with all the emotions and detailed fill into each character. Tristan and Melanie are both strong headed characters that take you through an exciting adventure in romance. The dragons and humans do not live together in harmony, in fact it is quite the opposite. They can't live ...more

Review of the entire first book: This one was just okay for me. It was suggested by Facebook as something I might like. It’s the usual rough, tough, alpha male who hates the heroine but grows to love her type of story. Melanie sacrifices herself and agrees to bear a dragon-shifter baby in exchange for a vial of dragon blood to save her young brother’s life. She enters a new culture with only a few other human women there to pave the way for her. Tristan’s inner dragon is immediately drawn to her ...more

My second Dragon Shifter story has started off with mucho gusto! Tristan is literally a complete, though hot, a$$. Melanie, aka the "human sacrifice" is determined to stay with Tristan no matter that he is a complete jerk to her. Their relationship gives new meaning to wham-bam-thank you mam! It was so quick I blinked and almost missed it. Nevertheless, I'm moving on to Part II to see just how much of a jerk Tristan will be. Tristan's dragon is too funny! It's no wonder Tristan is grumpy with ...more

Super quick read, but left me wanting more. Ugh! Darn you serials, you get me to the good part only to trick me into needing to pick up the second book. Even with this quirk this is definitely a series I'm gonna continue. I liked the main characters Tristan and Mel. Tristan is definitely a dick, but a dick with a cause to hate humans, so I'll forgive him. He's all tall, dark and muscles, plus he's a dragon so that works for me. Mel is a cute 25 year old chick who is not only smart, but sassy as ...more

I have read the complete story and do recommend it very much. It has an engaging storyline with characters that you see grow and mature. The relationship is not rushed and they take time to really connect. The characters feel genuine and have real issues to overcome. If you want a good romance with your shifter story, this is a great choice.

This was an a right book. Dragon shifter and human female are paired to mate, she is doing this to help her brother who is ill and in need of the dragons blood. He hates humans because they killed and badly wounded his family. After they mate his dragon wants to keep her, his human side doesn't. They struggle and the dragon wins after the human see's she isn't like other humans.

A woman who is willing to have a dragon shifter's baby to save her brother's life.
A dragon who hates humans but has a duty to his clan.
These two come together in an unexpected mating. If she survives giving birth, how are they going to manage?
I really liked the heroine, Melanie. She is tough-minded, witty, and has an open heart and open eyes. The hero spends the first part of the book being an ass because he hates humans. To be fair, his mother and sister were tortured and his mother killed by

Jessie Donovan has never seen a human being or their genitals in her life. This book reads like internet fanfiction written by a young person who has been locked in a dark cave their entire life without human contact. This hypothetical teen understands the vague concept of sexual encounters but has never experienced one or even thought to explore their own body to see how things work.
The dialogue was like reading something that has been put through google translate 3 times- the words make sense

I really loved this story, it grabbed me right from the beginning. I was getting tired of reading stories that had so much tension and outright evilness that my head would spin. But this story had just the right amount of tension and although there was evil, it was more subtle. Most of which you got with the undercurrent of the story which was a lesson that is needed more now than ever. That is; we need to understand those who are different and not be afraid or try to destroy them. Although the ...more

Recently I have been trying to read books from different genres that aren't my typical, so getting into this book felt a bit like going home, back to my more normal genre of books; and more importantly, back to a book that drew me in and I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just keep reading which is how I read it in 1.5 days. However, the morning of the second day I wasn't as addicted as when I started, maybe it was because the thrill of an interesting book had warn off but also the book felt ...more
