4 Our Four-Legged Friends Always Know * * * *

Pets... we all love them. They have personalities and heart which can just make us feel exactly what we should at any given time. I think their love for us humans is pure and over my life, I have been very fortunate to have had furry children who meant the world to me.

In this book we have a pro baseball player who is devoted to his furry family, too. He is so hardcore about them, he has his assistant cook meals and treats for all four. This is in addi
Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! Why must it be over!?

It's been a long time since I've read one of Kate Angell's books. It wasn't until I cracked it open that I realized just how much I'd missed her writing, her characters and the world she created. She's probably my favorite baseball romance writer so I was deeply saddened when her Richmond Rogues series came to an end. I had hoped it would go on for a lot longer than it did.

I'll admit that I haven't kept up with her new series. But this book, when I

Just look at this cover! It is so adorable! I can't help but feel happy by just looking at it.
And the cover wasn't the only thing that made me want to read this book.
The premise sounded promising too.

That had it's impact, so I went into this book with my expectations higher then usual.

I can see why some people would love this book.
Unfortunately, I wasn't one of those people.

In my opinion this book is written only for real dog lovers.
Please don't take me as a dog hater, because I do like dogs. I

maybe 3 scenes with Atlas ( which is the coolest name for a dog ) were funny, but other than that... the writing is atrocius and nonsensical with a lot of descriptive prose that, again, made no sense. the story wasn't at all believable. one word that perfectly describes this is: jumbled.

I can't decide between a 4 or 4 1/2

Rylan needs a PA to keep his life and most importantly his dogs' lives in order while he is home during the baseball preseason. Beth is trying to move past the worst day of her career and needs a fresh new start. Atlas the great Dane, just needs treats.

I do love a good story around baseball; especially this time of year. This was an easy read, nothing earth shattering and lots of feel good moments. For once the conflict was not so horrendous that it drove the c
Beth had a life she was proud of until one moment ripped everything apart. Tending to her emotional wounds, Beth has made a new life for herself and found a temporary job as a PA for baseball phenom Rylan Cates. Beth was an event coordinator, not quite the same as dog watcher and secretary but she is willing to put her best foot forward.

With the help of Rylan's dog, Atlas, both Beth and Rylan find themselves forming a friendship and Rylan seeking out time with Beth aside from work. He knows it i

Is it bad the I may have loved Atlas the best? lol I really loved this story. It was sweet and funny and just plain good. It put a smile to my face to read it. And the best part ... everyone in the book had purpose :)
So if you're looking for a sweet romance with not to much angst and a bit of depth ... look no more cuz you found it!

This book was really good! I'm glad I read it because I didn't think it would be that great (yes, I judged the book by the cover), but I guessed wrong. It was kind of inappropriate given some of the risky moments Angell occasionally included, although that didn't effect my fondness over the story. The book was very capturing and funny, and the character development was significant. I definitely recommend for high school/college readers!

If someone asked me to describe this book in just one word, I think it'd be disappointment. Starting from its cover-and that saying goes both ways, I know- with its plot about a baseball player needing a personal assistant, adding to the mix his four dogs, I thought I got all the ingredients for a good read. And that was the problem with this story. All the ingredients were present, yet the end result was not tasty.

For a book whose hero is a baseball player, for starters, this story had very lit

This is one of my favorite books by Angell. When I started this book I knew this was going to be a read that I couldn’t put down and I was right. I stayed up all night just to finish this book.

I loved Beth and Rylan! I thought they were perfect for each other. Rylan hires her to be his assistant because he isn’t attracted to her, but he comes to find out that he is. At first he thinks they have nothing in common, but as the story unfolds he sees they are more alike than he thought. Little by li
I have not had the pleasure of reading anything by Kate Angell before, I will definitely read her again! This book is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone.

Beth Avery is running away from her old life, and a failed event in her former event planning life. She grows from past mistakes and realizes where her true gifts lie and what events she has no control over. To get to that point in her life, she becomes a temporary personal assistant to Rylan Cates, a pro baseball player. This s

No One Like You (Barefoot William #4) by Kate Angell is a fun, fluffy, novel with adorable dogs and a cute main couple who mesh so well together. This would be a great beach read. The interactions with all the characters, especially Rylan's teammates are a real hoot. Kate really hit one out of the park with No One Like You. An easy, breezy and sexy contemporary romance that's a home run.

No One Like You is very flavorful in regards to the unique personalities of the characters. Rylan seems to be

I absolutely loved this book. I lost a night's sleep over it, and would do it again in an instant. The writing is up to Ms Angell's always high standards, but the story is one of her best. I laughed; I waited; I smiled; I saw it coming ... I loved it. If you like sports romance, then this falls into the category, but it is so much more. Atlas, the dog on the cover, plays a huge (literally) role in the story, and contributes a

What happens when Author Kate Angell blends her Barefoot William series with her Richmond Rogues series? You get NO ONE LIKE YOU, an engaging romance with fun characters and a scene stealing Great Dane named Atlas. Rylan Cates was only looking for a temporary P. A. when he hired Beth Avery to help him get organized with his life. Beth was looking for a new start in another town after a failed event hurt her career as an event planner. This was really sweet, really sweet. I kept waiting for some kind of drama or something, but nope it stayed sweet, and I liked that. I really liked that.

Sweet. That should tell you everything there is.

But, Beth has a past which consists of idiots. You are better off without the for sure. She gets a job as a PA. She is perfect for it.

Rylan is a baseball player, with 4 dogs. This is important to know cos the dogs and especially Atlas takes center stage. Yes and I do realise that in a short time I

I have to say, Angell's writing style doesn't really suit me, personally. She likes to use a lot of extraneous detail, which really isn't my thing. I don't care what some tertiary character bought at a shop, or what a dog has for dinner. It's all just waffle to me. Details matter when they set a scene or a mood, but so much of what Angell writes is just filler. I can see why some people would like it - those little details make up life, after all. It's just not my thing. Then there's the dogs. I ...more

3+ stars. A cute but at times a little cheesy romantic story that included adorable dogs and a hunky professional baseball player. A nice, lite summer read for someone that needs a book they don't have to analyze too much.

Writing: This book felt like it was written by a 10 year old who is still struggling with sentence formation. The sentences were so short, it felt like the author had a bet as to how many full stops can be fitted into one page. The writing was dull and not gripping at all.

Story: The whole story line felt forced and dragging. There was no flow in the events. Most of the book took place in a week which felt like months. Each minute described in excruciating detail, with 5-6 word sentences.

I've read several of Kate Angell's baseball-themed books, and each time I'm determined not to read another - after reading No One Like You, I'm definitely not reading another. My biggest problem with this, and most of her other books, is that the author seems to know nothing about baseball! It's one thing to create a fictitious team, but it's never clear if it's a major league team or a minor league team, I'm often getting mixed messages. But if it is a MLB team, are they NL or AL - again, it's ...more

The phrase “Don’t judge a book by its cover” is usually accurate; however in this instance, I did judge by the cover and I was right! I picked up this book because the cover caught my eye. It looked fun and flirty. I’m so happy I did, because now I have discovered a new author to add to my reading list.

No One Like You is the fourth book in a series; however this is a stand-alone novel. Rylan Cates is a professional baseball player who has a hectic life and houseful of dogs. He hires Beth Avery t
Another fun read! Perfect beach read or Tuesday read. It was a slow burn of a relationship and it had you counting the pages till they got together.

Rylan Cates is a baseball player for the Richmond Rogues and he needs a PA. Someone to help out with house errands and walks his 4 dogs. Beth Avery needs a job and she knows nothing about dog care. So fake it until you make it right? However, Rylan knows this but hires her because he isn’t attracted to her. But as Beth helps out more than he thought

Never had I ever read a story as boring as this. There were so many pages which were totally pointless and with no reason at all. It was like reading a diary. Every single unnecessary thing was mentioned. And just so so boring. Didn'

Such a feelgood story!
I found myself laughing out loud, moved and sometimes rasing a brow. It wasn't always the most logical or realistic (hence 4 stars and not 5), but who cares if it still gives you a good feeling :)
If you like a light read, a good laugh and sympathetic main characters, this story is for you.

I have had this book for months and started reading it several times, then put it down for something more interesting. Then my daughter decided to get married and I had an excuse to leave it in my TBR pile. Well my daughter is safely wed and my excuses are no longer valid, so I knuckled under and finished this book. I actually think I am being a bit generous in my grading because I think there are readers out there who will get this book, but I am just not
