I have been using Evernote for over a year now, and I love it. Until now, I have used it for the standard reasons anyone would download the App to begin with, i.e. folders and files on travel, books, checklists, the kids, as a journal, PDF docs, photos/scans, work, web-clipping (a personal favourite), etc. and now Mr. Scott's Master Evernote has helped me realize and given me the impetus to plunge further into the ether and virtually (excuse the pun) live my life through it; file receipts, scan ...more

I have been using Evernote since 2010 and am always looking for tips to improve my use of this amazing tool. SJ Scott has written a resource that is helpful for all levels of user.
"Master Evernote" is written by an Evernote power user to help the person who just downloaded the tool all the way to teaching old pros new tricks. Like some many of Scott's books, this is easy to follow, well laid out, and the Kindle version works well. I appreciated the chapters on using Evernote with David Allen's "

I never realized how great Evernote is in till I read this book.

A long time ago I tried out Evernote. I realize I didn't really give it much of a chance, and perhaps I didn't realize exactly what it was. Eventually as my business grew I kept running into Evernote and how it was a great tool for your business. So I checked out this book and it blew me away! Even if you know the general basics of Evernote, there is so much more than you can do with it to keep both, your personal life and business

I finally had a chance to go through this masterpiece, Master Evernote, with a fine tooth comb while in front of Evernote itself. I now feel like I have a handle on where I can store everything so I can find it anytime I need it, and had someone make the connection between Evernote and other apps. I think I will be more productive, more efficient, and more effective as time passes. Thank you Steve, for this terrific resource. Best wishes for your continued success!

This was more of a pitch for all the things Evernote can do for you than a tutorial. The word "master" should not be used as it only shows how to open a note, type in it, and search for it. It does tell you about all the things you "could" do if you only knew how. ...more

It’s a useful guide for new users as well as more seasoned. I’ve used Evernote since it was a desktop stand alone product. I’ve experienced the evolution of the product and the responsiveness of Evernote to its audience. Loyal users have kept developers on their toes with useful updates, with some frustrations along the way, but for the most part, those complaints are dwarfed in comparison to all the great things you can do with Evernote.

I am using Evernote for some time now. I am familiar with most of the features.

But I never thought I could improve my productivity or make a general place to store all my details with Evernote. After reading this book I got more ideas and ways I can store data in my Evernote and how I can improve my productivity.

The book is divided into two parts. In the first part, the author explains the different features of Evernote. In the second part, he explains how one can improve productivity with Everno

Things I Didn’t Know & Ideas I Didn’t Think Of

I love Scott’s tone throughout the book - encouraging as he guides you through the basics and a bit more. I knew a lot of the basics, he provided a greater view of what I can do with Evernote and ways to structure and organize Notes, Notebooks, and Stacks. I appreciated the prompts for how I could tailor Evernote for my life. Well written with easy to understand directions. I’m glad I read it and will be referring to it as I build Evernote for my nee

Simple and concise book

This book was well organized and sufficiently introduced me to the basic concepts for Evernote. Gave me good ideas that were immediately useful. I like the fact that the author presented the GTD (Getting Things Done) approach and how it could simply (and effectively) be applied with Evernote. The only downside to this book was the dated material (i.e. apps such as clearly which are no longer supported)

This is one of the best guides on Evernote I have ever read. I've used Evernote since 2008 but find most guides to be overly simplistic or too complicated. This one struck just the right balance and also incorporated GTD principles. I also think this is one of S.J. Scott's best books. ...more

Very Practical Tips on this Versatile Tool

I already had the free version of Evernote and used it for several years. But reading this really helped me see some new and powerful ways to use it. I will use it even more now for my writing and speaking projects.

Decent Help Book on Evernote

For the most part I really didn't mind this book. My only complaint is that some of the ideas in the book are in reality not the greatest of ideas. In conclusion, it wasn't bad, but obviously nothing mind blowing awesome.

I've been using Evernote for a couple years but thought I could use a review of the basics and get some new ideas from this power user's guide. Basics: Create folder for Inbox, Action items, Ideas, and Random at the top of the list (by prepending with "!"). Use notebooks and tags to organize. Tagging might take some getting used to but will make future searches much easier. Use advanced search techniques to get to stuff quicker, such as searching in a notebook, in the tags, or by creation date ( ...more

Lots of useful tips on how to use Evernote. I particularly like the principles of adding tags, forwarding emails to Evernote and using Evernote with GTD. The 75 ideas part is also very good, full of useful and interesting ways to use Evernote. I like it that the author uses personal examples to illustrate the points. I hope the author can be more specific in some parts, such as how to use camscanner with Evernote. More notebook and tag examples will also be appreciated. All in all, a great book ...more

When I purchased this book I had just downloaded Evernote – didn’t know the first thing about it. The book turned out to be a good buy. It’s a fine book for beginners. The discussion is based on the Windows version of Evernote, which proved to be slightly different from my Mac version, but this is not a significant problem. I would have liked more discussion about how Evernote actually functions. Also considerable space is allocated to “suggested uses” many of which don’t seem practical to me. T ...more

This book is good if you are just too overwhelmed with Evernote to get started or if you've got the basics down and you're at the stage were you want some ideas to get the most out of the app. I'm not sure there's anything here that you couldn't find by reading free articles online, if you have the time, energy, and patience for that sort of thing. If not, this is an inexpensive, quick read that will get you rolling. ...more

Great information in this book about Evernote that I actually didn't know despite using the program for a few years. However, there were a lot of "links" in this book. Many of which could be typed, no big deal, but a few of them didn't have an actual link and it would just say, "Check out this add-on" and was clearly underlined. Hard to have a link that you can't actually click on... But the information in the book made up for it. ...more

This is very helpful

As usual S.J. Scott delivers helpful information in a very simple way. Since I began reading this book I was able to set up and use the Evernote app effectively. The information I gathered from this book was easy to understand thus making it easy for me to learn how to set up and use the app to increase productivity in several key areas of my life.
