A Regency romance of otherworldly proportions follows Miss Vanessa Grayson, a renowned spiritualist, who is hired to rid Lord Trent's country home of ghosts, as she finds herself drawn to the young nobleman who scoffs at her profession. Original.
Alana Clayton is a native of Louisville, KY. She has a BA in English from the University of Louisville, where she worked for some years before quitting when she wrote and sold her first novel.
A sweet tale with a rather stupid and quick ending. The ghosts are interesting, but I didn't see much reason for them to be in the story, aside from providing the heroine with an interesting profession.
Spiritualist Vanessa Grayson earns a living by routing out ghosts in nobility’s homes. Lord Trent doubts the veracity of her claims and hires her to search his family residences. His true aim is to learn if she’s associated with the notorious Hell-Fire Club that may be holding his brother prisoner. Vanessa, increasingly attracted to the handsome aristocrat, wants him to believe her. But when her sister goes missing and there’s a definite link to Lord Trent, she realizes she can’t trust anyone. Can these two come together to defeat a nefarious plot? A charming historical romance with likable characters and the added suspense of a missing persons case.
