I tried really hard. I managed to reach 30% before I found something interesting in the book (art discussion), so I kept reading but gave up near 62%.
Why ? Because I hadn't been warned that there are other main characters in the book apart from Kara and Ted : her nipples !
I'd love to say that Kara is an independant woman who knows what she wants - and she does, but I didn't really relate to her. Ted ? After bumping accidentally into her some time before, the first thing he does when he sees her

I’ve always been curious about art thefts, particularly since the major break-in at the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum’s break in in the 1990’s, since that was a frequent destination when I lived closer to Boston. Adriana Kraft manages to bring a ‘feel’ of a theft from two perspectives in The Heist, where a series of paintings are snatched from a small traveling exhibition in the Midwest.

From the start, the perspective of Kara, the museum’s director and the thieves are cleverly interwoven and

Kara is the director of the Nelson Museum awaiting paintings for a showing. A few days before the paintings are due to arrive, there is a break in at her museum. Nothing was stolen or damaged so the police are not too interested. The Upper Mid-West Art Council sends their investigator, Ted, to help her beef up museum security. Unfortunately for all their precautions, The Three Maids is stolen. Now it is up to Kara and Ted to track down the thief and get the painting back. Can they do it?

After reading and loving "The Unmasking" by Adriana Kraft I was quite excited to receive a copy of "The Heist".
The author takes us into the world of art with this story involving art theft.
Small town museum director Kara Daniels calls in Ted Springs, detective for the Upper Midwest Arts Council, when her favorite trio of priceless impressionist paintings "The Three Maids" is stolen. Kara and Ted work the crime together and together they are sizzling hot! Lots of twists and turns involved with a

Very Hot in more ways than one.
Engaging, Entertaining, Funny, and Serious with added twists throughout this story. Well written and extremely enjoyable to read. Self-contained story line with great character interaction. Some very interesting twist at the end that I never seen coming. I received this book as a free read from the author for an honest review.
