Ellora's Cave Presents

Three erotic tales prove a hard day at work
is exactly what these women need....

N. J. WALTERS
Unmasking Kelly

When Kelly Allen decided to take the night off, her boss, Liam, wasn't too happy -- she's the best waitress at Brannigan's Pub, and tonight is the Halloween masquerade party. But ever since Kelly met the six-foot-four hunk whose jet-black hair tickles broad shoulders that taper to a lean waist and...mmm...she's had a plan. She's squeezing her tall, voluptuous body into a tight little costume so she can give Liam something to work for. One night of pleasure is all she's after -- but she gets a sweet treat she didn't expect.

SUSIE CHARLES
Velvet Strokes

When artist Tom Danville shows up at the nightclub Elizabeth owns and dances in, she almost blows a fuse. She never got over all the nights they spent together so many years ago, her slender frame wrapped in his arms. She was his model -- his muse -- but in the end, he would not forsake his wealthy family for a barmaid. How dare he return now with a business proposition, offering to pay her generously to model for him again? He knows she can't refuse the money. But once he gets her naked body in his studio, he plans to make another offer -- one she can't resist.

JAN SPRINGER
Edible Delights

Max Rivers knows the only person who could have produced the deliciously sexy, rose-colored edible thong that lands on his desk is red-hot redhead Allie Masters. Allie was assistant to Max and his partner, Nick, at Impulse, an erotic apparel distributor, but she played the starring role in the bedroom the three shared. That is, until she realized they'd never support her career aspirations, so she left for Europe. Now she's back, and they want exclusive rights to the edible intimates she designs...and to her luscious body.

Once upon a time N.J. had the idea that she would like to quit her job at the bookstore, sell everything she owned, leave her hometown, and write romance novels in a place where no one knew her. And she did. Two years later, she went back to the bookstore and her hometown and settled in for another seven years.

One day she gave notice at her job on a Friday morning. On Sunday afternoon, she received a tentative acceptance for her first erotic romance novel and life would never be the same.

N.J. Walters is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author who has always been a voracious reader, and now she spends her days writing novels of her own. Vampires, werewolves, dragons, time-travelers, seductive handymen, and next-door neighbors with smoldering good looks—all vie for her attention. It’s a tough life, but someone’s got to live it.

If you're looking for some very short erotic reads, then this is the book for you. I'm talking very short (the first story is only 52 pages), very erotic!
This in an anthology of three short stories, all with the theme of the heroine working in some capacity for the hero. Two of the stories feature menages, so if that is not something you want to read about, stay far, far away!

The first story, Unmasking Kelly by N.J. Walters, features a bar owner and one of his waitresses (a full figured gal) during a Halloween party. The waitress wants one night to seduce her boss, doesn't want him to know her identity, so wears a mask (like he won't recognize her!) Very hot story, but way too short!

The second story, Velvet Strokes by Susie Charles, is about a wealthy artist and his wrong side of the tracks muse, who he attempts to win back after treating her badly. There is a hot menage scene including his male cousin. I thought this one had a lot of promise--it was actually a very moving story and probably would have made a really great full sized novel.

The third story, Edible Delights by Jan Springer, was probably the most explicit of the three. It's about two guys that have a naughty lingerie business, and the female assistant they fell in love with but let get away. They now are desperate to get her back in the company and in their bed. Very hot and explicit, but a very light read.

As with most anthologies, these were very quick reads(should only take an afternoon to finish), with not a whole lot of development. There's no slow build up--things happen pretty fast in these books, so be warned.

Overtime, Under Him - Anthology
*Book is part of my private library*

Unmasking Kelly - N. J. WALTERS
Kelly loves working at the pub and is good at her job. She has been in love with her boss Liam since the first time she saw him. She has a plan to give Liam something to think about, if only she can go through with it.

The annual Halloween party at Liam’s pub is in full swing when the beautiful woman walks in. She is wearing a sexy little costume that knocks his socks off and brings out his protective side. He will make her his before the night is over and he plans on keeping her.

Kelly has been dreaming of Liam and would give up just about everything for one night with him. She is excited about the night before her and Liam’s request only served to heighten her senses. She plans to serenade him with a sensual strip tease but he turns the tables on her.

Liam plans to get his little seductress upstairs to his apartment but she has other plans. She can’t let him see her without her mask so she tries to flee the scene only to be caught at the door. Liam has one more surprise for his sexy seductress that blows her away.

I loved this story. I’ve read other stuff by this author and she is fast becoming an auto buy for me. I would’ve loved to see a longer story with these characters; they have so much more they could say.

Velvet Strokes - SUSIE CHARLES
Tom made a mistake letting Elizabeth walk out the door two years ago. He has been commissioned to produce a set of three paintings and they want his original model in them. Now he has to convince her to not only model for him again but that he loves her and isn’t planning on letting her go.

Elizabeth was heartbroken when Tom chose his family over her. She has moved on with her life and opened a gay club where she dances. The club is in trouble and as much as she hates to admit it, she needs Tom’s money. She insists that it is strictly a business arrangement hoping to protect her heart when she walks away again.

With the help of his cousin Richard, Tom has finally seen the light and realizes how bad he hurt Elizabeth when he let her walk away two years ago. The tension between the two of them is evident from the beginning but it takes Richard’s probing to make Tom spring into action.

While the characters were complex, they were still interesting. Both of the main characters showed growth from where they were two years ago and were able to talk through their issues, something they couldn’t have done in the past. Overall, I enjoyed this story.

Edible Delights - JAN SPRINGER
Max and Nick have never forgotten their assistant Allie. They were all part of a ménage relationship and the boys loved her deeply. She decided to leave to pursue her own career. They let her go but they have never gotten over her. Thanks to her sister, Max has the perfect plan to get her back into their bed.

Allie has worked hard to make Edible Delights a success. She has some of the most unique edible underwear items on the market, now she just needs a major distributor to partner with. Now if she can just get through the business meeting where her products will all be on display, she might just walk out of there with the deal of her life. She never expected the distributors to be the two men she walked away from but never stopped loving.

I loved how Allie, Max and Nick conducted their business. The men were super sexy and I love the surprise they had for Allie in the dining room. She has grown up since she left them and she is now a shrewd negotiator. She got everything she wanted and more, plus her men back.

The three of them are hot together and make the pages sizzle. I loved the glimpse of their first encounter, it was just enough that it doesn’t over shadow the story. The combination of flavors of the edible underwear sound yummy and the designs sound not only unique but beautiful too.

I really enjoyed this short story but felt that it was too short too. I would’ve loved to read more about this trio.

Overall I really enjoyed this book of short stories. I would’ve loved for the first one and last to be longer, they were so much fun. I think the first story is my overall favorite one though. I give Overtime, Under Him 3½ Flaming Hearts.

These novellas were pretty good for erotic romance, I'd give the stories by Jan Springer and Susie Charles 3 stars each. The tale by N.J. Walters was outstanding, now I'm going to have to look for more by that author.
