Ah, I really enjoy clueless heroes, who then GET IT. Carter enjoys spending time with his neighbor, dog trainer/blogger Faith. She's a good egg and good company, and she's pretty, too. He just doesn't get why he likes her so much.

I loved this book but at times I thought Carter just was insensitive when I know he wasn't meaning to be I mean I know Faith hasn't told him how she feels about him, but the boy just needs to tune in, "you and me, tomorrow night. We’ve got the notorious and smokin’ hot werewolf cop, Carter Griffin, who’s after the detective position for the Seattle Wolf Pack and he’s been dying to get that job in years ever since he’s entered the force. But his dream job is just so close, yet so far – after he’s been informed that they need a suitable, mature and mated werewolf for the role. One thing left to do: GET MARRIED.

There’s always a silver lining to every conflict: Faith Hamilton. The girl next door (literally), one of the boys, the I-love-my-sweats-and-you-can’t-stop-me kind of girl. She’s getting close to being broke. And it seems Carter’s the only person… or rather, werewolf who can help her. Problem? She’s got a ginormous crush on him and she knows she’s not his type. But what are friends for… right?

Carter and Faith’s relationship is the typical “I’ve got a crush on you, please notice me” kind of relationship. Faith’s been in love with him ever since she can remember, but he always goes after the supermodels. The hot ones. And she thinks he’s so out of her league. Sure Carter does notice her, since they’re practically the best of friends and they live right next door to each other. But he’s never made a move on her.

Faith is the character almost every girl can relate to. Her insecurities are a total bullseye, just like any other girl crushing on someone or going through a one sided love. She’s a very realistic character, despite the supernatural aspect of the story. Meanwhile, Carter was just swoonworthy. although it was kind of annoying at first that he was too thickheaded to see to Faith's feelings, he still won me over in the end.

This is the first Kristin Miller book I’ve read, and even having read out of order as this is the third book of the series, I wasn't lost in the story, as these can be read as standalones, although with a few crossovers of the characters from the previous books.

If you're into funny and cute, cliche romances, and don't mind a little bit of bite (pun intended), So I Married a Werewolf is something you should pick up.

This book combined two of my favorite tropes...friends to lover and shifters. And let me just state right now how much I love that Faith is a dog trainer. That just tickles me since they are both werewolves and there are many times throughout the book where she compared her dog training techniques to getting along with Carter. I just found that really fun and funny.

So, Carter and Faith...they've been neighbors and friends for about a year now. Faith has a serious crush on him, but he My Review:

So, Carter and Faith...they've been neighbors and friends for about a year now. Faith has a serious crush on him, but he dates thin, model-like creatures whereas she's just the girl he hangs out with for movies and beer on Friday night. But he's up for a promotion against another Enforcer. They've both been informed that they would both be great for the job, but neither will be considered unless they are mated/married. For Carter, he's been there/done that and found his one true mate...and found it not such a great thing especially since she constantly cheated on him before her death. Even if such a thing were possible, he never wants to be in a situation where he can feel that type of humiliation and hurt again.

Faith is a changed werewolf. She and her brother were changed in an attack that killed their parents. She's in charge of his care and college now. He just got into Yale. While that's great news, there's no way that Faith can hope to afford the college costs for the Ivy league school. So, when Carter offers her the proposition of marriage, she accepts. Besides, they get along perfectly and he's a great guy, gorgeous to boot. How bad can it be? She just knows she can't fall for him because they will eventually be getting a divorce.

I liked that Faith went into this story with a crush, but it's Carter who's blown away by the feelings that he's suddenly developing for her. Faith is such a normal girl...I loved that about her. But I also loved how much confidence she developed throughout the course of the story. This was one of those books that I just really enjoyed. The story line worked for me and the chemistry between the two characters was really great. I love friends to lovers stories because they already know they get along really well...the sexual tension just adds so much more to it. And there is some great sexual tension in this. The book also takes place in the NorthWest and featured some really gorgeous and romantic settings that were simply fun to read. I love it when a book has great ambiance!

SO I MARRIED A WEREWOLF by Kristin Miller is a cute paranormal/urban fantasy romance in the Entangled Covet line. I've become quite enamored with werewolves and knew I had to read it once I read the synopsis; I was not disappointed. It's a quick read consisting of just 208 pages and it held my attention from the first chapter to the last. It has interconnected characters with Kristin's other Seattle Wolf Pack books but is easily enjoyed as a standalone.

I liked him in the beginning, before the whole fake marriage thing took hold of the plot and he became the biggest angst-puppy this side of Jacob. Soon as he realized how attracted he was to Faith I developed a strange case of insta-hate just add idiot werewolf. It didn't help that Miller is somewhat inconsistent with his "tone" when its his third person view either.

Faith is pretty consistent--her insecurities are front and center I'll be frank - I disliked Carter for the majority of this book. I liked him in the beginning, before the whole fake marriage thing took hold of the plot and he became the biggest angst-puppy this side of Jacob. Soon as he realized how attracted he was to Faith I developed a strange case of insta-hate just add idiot werewolf. It didn't help that Miller is somewhat inconsistent with his "tone" when its his third person view either.

Faith is pretty consistent--her insecurities are front and center from the very beginning and they don't really change. Carter though spends so much time lying to himself about what he wants from his fake marriage to Faith that his true feelings never come off as genuine. He goes from flirty best friend to hot and heavy wannabe lover with baggage the size of Texas in under a minute.

I also felt as if Miller was really confusing with her terminology. For instance the whole "luminary"/"mate" thing. Those who read paranormal romance know that "mate" pretty much means "the one you're destined for and is absolutely perfect for you forever after". Especially in most shifter/werewolf romances. I think in this world, which I didn't get this vibe from the first two books, "mate" is akin to basically "spouse" and doesn't hold the forever after connotations. Mate and Luminary are used pretty interchangeably throughout the books though so I got a little confused. Nate (Carter's rival for the detective spot) says he found his mate. Carter claims that his first (cheating, shrew of a deceased) wife was his Luminary.

And apparently despite the fact that finding your Luminary means you get a longer lifespan (it goes from hundreds of years to a thousand or something like this, so hey Methuselah!) it doesn't stop you from contracting werewolf only blood born diseases that can kill you. Which seems kind of jacked up honestly. "Here's your fated mate! Oh but too bad she's gonna die a couple decades INTO your bond" Way to be a dick Fate.

Nate bothered me as well - why in the name of my books would the Bureau want a tattle tale to be their Detective? Seriously. This guy was literally going to run to his and Carter's superiors to tattle on him about breaking the rules THEN when Carter halted that train he instead decided to just besmirch his name. Really? This is the kind of guy you want investigating sensitive cases? Yeah you're going for the same job, but wouldn't it benefit your case MORE if you weren't seen as going behind your comrade's back?

I liked Faith, thought she was a spitfire and feisty and certainly emphasized with her, but Carter kind of ruined their romance for me. Especially near the end when he goes beserker upset at her over a stupid little thing. Like I was worried he was going to hit her even though I knew him to be the romantic lead beserker upset. Even though I have read the others in this series I think so far this is one has become my favorite thus far in this series. The characters are rich with humor when they deal with each other having been friends for quite a while now. Even though they are in the same pack they have never shifted in front of each other which I found to be quite intriguing. Faith has many jobs including training dogs that also has her writing a blog to go with it. Supporting a younger brother whom she loves dearly Even though I have read the others in this series I think so far this is one has become my favorite thus far in this series. The characters are rich with humor when they deal with each other having been friends for quite a while now. Even though they are in the same pack they have never shifted in front of each other which I found to be quite intriguing. Faith has many jobs including training dogs that also has her writing a blog to go with it. Supporting a younger brother whom she loves dearly she means to see him succeed in aspiring his goals.Carter being part of the Enforcement Bureau policing unit keeps him busy and on his toes. Friday nights are movie night which I found were quite nice but often led them thinking I do believe about each other. One day he enters his work and is called into his captain's office with news that he is a prime candidate along with one other for detective. The clincher though is they would really prefer that detective be married because they believed it was better for that wolf in that position. Boy did I crack up because you could almost see the wheels turning in Carter's head with coming out of his mouth he had indeed found his fated mate and was engaged. Knee slapper for sure because he does not even have a girlfriend because he usually only had short term encounters. So that is how this author gets you by the scruff because you have to see how he plans to wiggle out of this with his reputation still intact. That is where Faith will come in with you next seeing these two who after she agrees to the shenanigans (her brother being a big factor) go down the road of make believe engaged but having to play a part that to anyone else comes off being the real deal. This is where I do believe someone should of told them beware of games such as these they often times as not have a way of becoming all to real. The flow of the storyline here on out takes you along for a most delightful read with other characters along the way to provide that added color a good novel needs. Love will bite them both in the butt with them indeed truly being the mate for each other. The heat between these two perfect fit for them. I did get irritated that a size 12 was considered big – but that could be the UK/US division at work again – here 12-14 is what most ladies are and its certainly not considered “big”....I liked Faith, she was a get on with life person, and I wish I had her secret when it comes to money making from her blog!! A loving sister, she was sacrificing her dreams to help her brother fulfil his, and that's a generous thing to do. She deserved love and to be loved. Carter had been a freally good friend but it seems her heart splintered a little more with each shallow, dipsy girl he went out with, and yet he couldn't see her real value, or maybe he wouldn't let himslef? At times he was such a jerk, flitting aimlessly from woman to woman for purely physical reasons.. I liked him to begin, and then he seemed to go into some odd jerk mood, when he was hung up on the fated mate stuff, and his jealousy issues – they weren't Faith's fault, yet she was suffering the fallout from him. .I'd hoped the psycho ex would play a bigger part – I do love a good “bit ch” in a romance but sadly her appearences were minor :-(
Overall it's a decent read but lightweight for me. It doesn't matter of you've not read earlier books about the Seattle werewolf pack as it's easy to pick up and read as a standalone novel.
Stars: 3 – an OK read but I've liked others of Kristin's better.

Although this is part of a series (it's #3, in fact), you wouldn't know it because it's a stand alone read. It's also surprisingly fast. I was able to finish this in one night while I was sweating like a pig in heat in our camping cabin. I certainly couldn't sleep so I read until my Nook died, which was shortly after I finished this book.

Quick and fun read with friends to lovers storyline. Started out slow but moved along quite quickly after the first few chapters. I really liked the h Faith, she was a joy to read and I loved that I got to experience her vulnerability and strength through her perseverance. I didn't understand the the Luminary arc though but I haven't read any of the previous books in this series to know if this is a continuous plot arc.

I got confused in the opening lines of this book. First off I want sure who was "meant" to be in the dialogue. It was choppy and jumpy and not clear who was speaking.

Then a comment about talking about wolf packs business, the alpha etc but they'd never shifted in front of each other???? Found this very strange for a SHIFTER book.

Sadly after the first couple of chapters nothing caught my eye, which is important in a read and I gave up

These are all the makings of a fun story except somewhere along the line I didn't like this story as much as I anticipated. This is the 3rd story in the Seattle Wolf Pack series and my first story by Kristin Miller. These are all the makings of a fun story except somewhere along the line I didn't like this story as much as I anticipated. Carter Griffin is an enforcer for the Seattle Wolf Pack and he's up for a promotion for the second time. This time he gets the heads up from the boss that the only way he's going to get the promotion is if he's married (to his mate preferably). His competition for the position announces that he’s getting married the following weekend so Carter does the only thing he can think of – he lies. Faith Hamilton is a dog trainer and lives next door to Carter. They’re the best of friends and Carter spends a lot of time over at Faith’s house. She’s just found out that her brother wants to transfer to Yale and there’s no way that she can put his through that post graduate program on her salary as a dog trainer and the piddly funds she’s gets from her dog training advice blog. Her only solution is to accept Carter ‘proposal’ to get married after which he’ll give her the money for Yale.

I want to like these two but they don't talk, if they had said outloud what they said inside their heads the chemistry would have worked much better for me. Faith’s constant acceptance of anything Carter told her was annoying. She would internally question what he had to say then she would do what he wanted anyway. There were moments where I thought she wouldn’t but then those were short lived and my frustration with her continued to grow.

The amount of devotion she had for him was undeserving as I didn’t see what he’d done for her that was so special. Yes, they were friends and I didn’t see where he went out of his way to be anything other than a friend to her. But if I listened to Faith he was the best thing since sliced bread – except for the amount of women he dated and slept with. How was she in love with this guy when he couldn’t keep his fly zipped?

And let me not get started on her brother - total jerk. How could you not know that your sister didn’t have the financial means to put you through Yale?! How caught up in your own world are you that you don’t see that? How about you just man the f-up and get loans and jobs like the rest of us and put yourself through school – I hope he’s book smart because he’s dumb as hell when it comes to common sense. And Faith’s an idiot for letting him do that do her. That storyline really got my goat.

There was nothing about Faith and Carter’s chemistry that I found romantic. Carter had a lot of misgivings about another marriage because his first wife cheated on him and he was understandably worried about that happening again. What I didn’t understand was why he would think that Faith, who didn’t even date, was just like his wife. She gave absolutely no signs of being that way. Those inconsistencies threw me off. But again I think those things could have been addressed as a couple but the inner dialogue kept coming and the misunderstandings kept coming – especially from Carter. He was the more immature of the two even though he was much older than Faith. There was a specific scene when Carter rejected Faith (I don’t care what excuse he had) that made me actually put the book down for a while.

I expected some mystery or suspense but there was none of that just these two and their issues. For as long as this story was, the ending happened really quick and left me feeling ‘meh’. Like I said, I wanted to like this story much more that I did.

That is until Carter starts noticing Faith in more than platonic ways and Faith can’t seem to stop herself from falling deeper for her best friend. How will these two work through their complicated relationship without totally losing the friendship it was based on?

This was exactly the type of book I was in the mood for without even realizing it. I was instantly drawn in by the chemistry between Faith and Carter. At first, it’s only Faith that has feelings towards Carter. With her impossible crush, she knows that anything with Carter will never happen. After all, it’s been months and he’s never lead her to believe there was anything but friendship between them. She’s heartbroken that she could never be Carter’s type of girl but resigned to that fact. When Carter asks her to be his fake wife, she secretly hopes things might change between them. I absolutely loved that Faith wasn’t the traditional beautiful woman. She has curves and isn’t afraid to eat what she wants but has the sweetest heart.

Carter is the gorgeous alpha male who has no qualms about sleeping around. He doesn’t do relationships because he’s been burned in the past by a cheating wife. The only woman he lets get close is Faith. It isn’t until Faith is his ‘fiancé’ that he really starts to notice how beautiful Faith is. I absolutely loved his struggle to not fall for Faith, to not do anything remotely intimate with Faith, even on their wedding night! But he’s a determined guy and he knows what he wants especially when his instincts towards Faith are all about ‘protect’ and ‘possess’. I loved that! I really loved these two together. They had SUCH amazing chemistry and I loved the angst around their emotions and how they handled their feelings. It broke my heart whenever Faith felt like she was being rejected but I loved the way Carter consumed her when he finally gave in.

I really loved this book but I had two little niggles about it. One, I felt like Carter was too much of a jerk at times to Faith when she didn’t deserve it. He let someone else’s experiences about Luminaries (fated mates) guide him on how he treated Faith instead of trusting his own experiences and instincts. Secondly, after how he treated Faith in the end, I was expecting a little more groveling from him than what was given. Granted, I loved the way he made it up to Faith and how sweet the ending was but I felt like it just wasn’t enough for how he made Faith feel.

Overall, this was a fabulous story about two friends who fake getting married for a job promotion, then end up realizing there’s more than friendship in their relationship. It may be the third book in a series but it can be easily read as a standalone. It’s filled with great characters with even greater sexual tension and a flow that’s very easy to read. If you’re looking for a quick paranormal romance to read with funny banter and a lot of chemistry, definitely give this one a try! I know I’ll be going back and reading the previous books in the series while keeping a look out for this author’s upcoming series, San Francisco Wolf Pack. ...more

He is a good enforcer and does his job well, but he wants more. As an enforcer, he is required to take orders from others....to be a follower. This is the job he was meant for! Problem is, there is another qualified candidate applying for the same position.... one slot open for two qualified people. During the interview, Carter learns that they want to give this coveted detective position to a mated wolf. They feel a mated wolf shows more stability, and will have fewer opportunities to blab wolf business to casual strangers who happen to end up in the detective's bed. Carter had a mate once (she died) and has no interest in changing his playboy ways. Then he finds out his competition, the other wolf applying for the detective position, is engaged to his mate and will be married the following weekend. This puts Carter at a severe disadvantage........so what's a wolf to do? He lies and says that he, too, is engaged to be married to his mate. Then the delighted interviewer announces that he would like to meet both wolves' mates. Oh, what a tangled web we weave......

Faith Hamilton is a woman with three full time jobs. In addition to her three full time jobs, she is supporting her younger brother and his dream to go to Yale. She is making all the sacrifices so her baby brother can follow in their father's footsteps, and she is happy to do it. She is stressed, but she will do whatever it takes to make this happen for her brother.

Faith and Carter have a good relationship. It is strictly platonic, and there is a certain level of comfort in their routine. They meet every Friday night for a movie, and there is no pressure for anything more than friendship, although they each seem to have a secret intimate curiosity about the other......

So when Carter comes back from the interview and explains his predicament to Faith, she steps up and helps him come up with ideas as to how he can get himself out of the hole he dug for himself. He decides he doesn't like any of her ideas, so he comes up with one of his own. Faith will marry him, they will be the happy couple required for the position of detective, and Carter will help Faith with her brother's tuition to Yale. That is one offer that Faith, begrudgingly, cannot refuse.

This was a really cute story. I like the Seattle wolf pack. I believe this is the third in the series (I'll have to double check that), but it is only the second one that I've read. Even if you have no prior knowledge of the Seattle wolves, you can still pick up this book and have no problem understanding what is going on.

This book is fun. It is well written and the characters are likeable and entertaining. There is plently of action and the plot moves along at a nice pace. I recommend this book to all lupine lovers (like myself) and anyone interested in a really sweet love story....(do I really need to tell you what happens between Faith and Carter??) :-)

Carter lost his mate and has spent the intervening years playing the field so the last thing on his mind is marriage but as he is not the only candidate for the position he is really going to have to up his game! A werewolf only gets one Mate so Carter never thought that anyone would expect him to get married again but luckily he Carter is a werewolf who is determined to get promoted but unfortunately the agency he works for feel a settled married male will bring far more commitment to the job! Carter lost his mate and has spent the intervening years playing the field so the last thing on his mind is marriage but as he is not the only candidate for the position he is really going to have to up his game! A werewolf only gets one Mate so Carter never thought that anyone would expect him to get married again but luckily he has a good friend to talk it through with and add a bottle of vodka and they just might come up with a solution!
Faith has had her eye on her sexy neighbour Carter for quite some time . Oh he's friendly and in fact that's just how he views her as a friend but Faith wants so much more. Whilst Carter doesn't quite see Faith as one of the guys he does feel comfortable around her and shares his thoughts and wishes. Faith works hard to help support her baby brother but when she gets a little tiddly one night she agrees to pose as Carters fiancé in return for help supporting her brothers college dream. It sounds like a good idea but almost from the first night it's clear that things might not work out quite as smoothly as hoped as not only does Faith have to keep up appearances but Carters jealous ex girlfriend is with his rival! Faith wishes so much for Carter to see her as a woman but she's not his type , or is she?
Well I haven't read anything by this author before but I must confess I quite enjoyed this. It's technically a paranormal romance but truthfully there wasn't a lot of actual shifting in this story. Carter is a born werewolf but Faith is a turned one and it's nice to see that the two types were not segregated or discriminated against in any way. So often in books turned werewolves are considered rogue by naturally born ones and I really liked that this author gave her shifters a more balanced and mature outlook.
This is a romance and right from the start we realise that Faith is beyond attracted to Carter but theirs is a platonic friendship and he just doesn't really see just how connected they both are. To say Carter is clueless and perhaps just a little blinkered is putting it mildly. He is so busy chasing supermodel types that he can't see what's right under his nose . For her part though Faith does herself no favours and dresses in baggy clothes and generally lacks confidence in her own appearance but when she starts dressing up to go to functions with Carter he starts to see her in a whole new light!
Is Carter shallow? I think he should have seen Faith as a woman way before he did but he finally does start to realise that he is attracted to her but he just won't allow himself to believe they could be good together. Faith is an amusing heroine and certainly gets Carters attention but it's not instant love and this couple have more then a few ups and downs before finally Carter steps up and claims his bride!
Well written and very funny. I would happily read more from this author and although this book is part if a series it worked very well as a standalone. There is sexual content here but it's not instant heat and I loved that the author built up the tension. Carter is not my favourite type of hero but eventually he made the right choice . You have got to love a guy who isn't afraid to admit when he's wrong! ...more

I loved both of our characters and they are definitely a couple who belong together –even if they can’t see it and everyone else can- and share a beautiful chemistry based on a strong 5*s

I loved both of our characters and they are definitely a couple who belong together –even if they can’t see it and everyone else can- and share a beautiful chemistry based on a strong friendship. Faith is a girl who is comfortable in herself, her life is all about making sure her brothers college dreams come true and making enough money to make that happen. She doesn’t need to make an effort with herself and isn’t bothered about a boyfriend because of past experiences, but that doesn’t mean that she isn’t crushing on Carter – hard! She has a tragic past that left her with a visible scar that makes her feel unattractive so hiding behind baggy clothes is the norm for Faith, so no one ever really sees just what she has to offer in the curves department until she starts dressing for her part as Carter’s ‘fiancee’ and he sees her in a whole new light. Carter propositions his best friend into agreeing to a sham marriage in exchange for funding her brothers college tuition and hopefully Carter finally getting a promotion to detective. He’s worked hard for the place and has a rival for the position who is engaged which is really what his bosses are looking for – a mated man- showing them a stable, settled wolf who can focus on the job. Faith has feelings for him in a big way and has doubts that she can ‘pretend’ when her feelings are already involved but Carter is determined to keep this as purely an arrangement between two friends, he isn’t after a relationship because he married his Luminary (his soul mate) who unfortunately died and knows he won’t find another….. or will he?
I can’t resist storylines like this and as I mentioned, the friends to lovers and marriage of convenience are always winners for me especially when you get the paranormal element too. The storyline is very much devoted to the relationship development and obtaining the promotion, it was soooo good and it flowed so well making it an extremely easy read. It also helped that the characters were so easy to connect to, they had great chemistry before the intimacy and reading about the change in the relationship dynamic was great. I enjoyed reading about Faith blossoming into a sexually confident woman and Carter letting down his defences to let love in, they complimented each others character a lot making them better people together and you could really get behind their cause and I’m a sucker for HEA’s.
When I first decided to review this book I was unaware that it was part of a series let alone the third and decided to read it anyway hoping that it would read as a stand alone and it does! Nowhere throughout this book did I feel like I was missing any parts of the plot or bigger picture nor was I introduced to characters that I thought I ‘should’ know, so feel free to do as I did and dive right into this fun, sexy, sweet read – I myself will be adding the other two books to my ‘to read’ pile. ...more
