Title: Strings

Author: Kat Green

Information: Self-Publishing | 380 pages | Two more books to follow.

For Fans of: Music, a lot of feels, thrilling writing skills

My Thoughts:

When I first started the book, I actually thought, it will be a fantasy book. Really, don’t ask me – I don’t know why. Sometimes my mind messes up plots and covers from different books.

However, I started the book and was under its smell right from the beginning. Kat Green starts the book with (nearly) the end of it. You first get to know, that there had something happened with some of the main characters, but she doesn’t tell the complete plot and then starts the story from the very beginning. It’s an interesting way to start a book and that makes it thrilling, exciting and fascinating.

She has a way of writing that just makes you none-stop-reading. Sometimes there is a chapter from the present and that remembers you again, that something big will happen and then you just want to know: What did happen?! And then you can’t just stop.

It brought me into some reading-hangovers.

I’m in love with Kat Greens writing skills. She knows how to show emotions and action and writes a good balance between it. She has a really big talent and I can’t wait to read more from her. Luckily there are two more books to come – even if I have to wait for it – I can’t wait to read about these amazing characters again and get back into this world of music and romance!

Minus-Points:

-What happens to Megan.

-That I tried to find more Minus-Points, but there really are none.

Oh wait…

-The Black Eagles are not real.

Plus-Points:

+There were moments where I just couldn’t stop smiling.

+I cried while reading. (Yes, that’s a plus.)

+The story goes different then you think it will!

+Every character has his/her own story and character, which makes you love every character in a different way. (Oi, that was a lot character in one sentence!)

+The pairings are so cute to each other, you immediately want them to merry and get like a thousand children.

Favorite Quote:

She gazed over at her best friend, smiling. Melissa was still deep in conversation with Toby. For no good reason, they were arguing about the very important art of making the perfect cup of tea.

***

“Luke, shut up. Yes, he could give me everything material,” – she rested her hand over his heart – “but he couldn’t give me this.” She smiled at him, yet she was still tearful. “It wouldn’t matter if you don’t make another penny from music. We could be living in a cardboard box and begging, I don’t care. I just want you, nothing else.”

“I love you so much it hurts,” Luke whispered, as he pushed her against the wall.

Favorite Characters:

The Eagle boys and girls and also Luke’s and Melissa’s parents.

Note:

Paperback will be out on July 27th.

Rating:

5 of 5 stars – ★ ★★★★

Last Words:

Don’t forget the name Kat Green. You will hear about her and her books!

And I want my own Luke.

My Summary:

Luke, the front man of Black Eagles, appears to have it all. From a gorgeous girlfriend to a band that skyrocketed to the top, everything he ever wanted is finally coming true.

But when he disappears one night without a trace and Melissa gets attacked and wakes up in the hospital, his perfect world goes spiraling down.

Can they get to Luke before its too late?

My Thoughts:

People in the music industry ALWAYS gets to me. I'm very biased about that especially when they're HOT. So yes, Luke is a musician and his totally a hottie.

Melissa and Luke meet in this bar-ish place where the Black Eagles, Luke's band, had their first gig. The instant they looked at each other's eyes the connection was there. You could already feel that something was going to happen and thanks to her best friend Beth, they ended up mingling and the rest is history.

Let's talk about Beth for a second. You guys will love her! She is this super feisty and over protective best friend. She treats Melissa like a sister and doesn't let anybody hurt her. So guys if you have evil intentions with Melissa, I suggest don't even dare it cause Beth will get you! And I love her for that! She has a relationship with another band member too which is adorable!

Melissa and Luke have never ending problems which annoy the heck out of me! Can't they have there happily ever after please? Problem after problem. There relationship could actually win the most problems award but I would say that they're worth it. I agree to the statement, "Behind a great man is a woman." Melissa and Luke's love story just proves that. Though it sucks for Melissa for Luke to be away, she supports him. It's very refreshing to read relationships like this.

We have crazy Amber. I know what fangirling is but GOSH is Amber over the top. What she does is not fangirling anymore but all out stalking! It's scary!! She's some crazy piece of thing. She's so desperate for Luke's attention. Amber, Luke is Melissa's! HE DOESN'T LIKE YOU! When he says he doesn't like you, it doesn't mean he does you crazy balls! Go to a mental institution and live there please.

Jaden. Gosh. Don't gross me out please. You're a grown man so don't let those hormones get the best of you. It's disgusting. You're disgusting. Stay away from Melissa!

Though I'm more of a pop girl than a rock girl, I still enjoyed this book and would gladly read the second book!

I'm a sucker for Rock romances, but this isn't your average rock star meets girl romance. The story follows the band as they struggle to make a name in the music business. Along the way Melissa meets Luke the lead guitarist, and their love story is woven into the bands rise to fame. Add a scary stalker to the mix and you have a story with heart stopping moments, twists and turns that will keep you hooked to the end.
Can't wait for the next book.

Although this book has been in my shelf for more than half of a year, sitting there with its sad, gloomy eyes and begging me to read it, I can say that it's not like I was avoiding it. Though, looking at my reaction of the way it actually turned out now, I'm telling you that I feel that I should've read it sooner and fell in love with it as soon as possible. Strings was a heart-racing, unique novel that's making me eager to figure out what'll happen in the next novels.

I love and am so fond of self-published novels. I've read some novels from indie authors before, and they contribute to so much work and happiness, although all authors do. Kat Green is simply a fantastic author whose writing is addictive and different from most that I've read, and her take on a mystery-thriller novel that jumps between the past and the present events of her time with her rock-star boyfriend is simply awesome. This contributes to one of the few boy-band rockstar books that I've ever come to read, and I am in love with this gothic, wild style. The author gives a new take on a unique premise, I tell you!

The Black Eagles are like a sexy version of the boy bands that are ruling the world today. And they're HOT BRITS, FOR GOODNESS SAKE. Like for example, let's picture Rixton. I totally see Luke, Dale, Tom and Toby as the other gorgeous British boy-band that headlined on Ariana Grande's tour (where I got to see them live!) who captured the hearts of all of the girls in the audience. Talk about a huge fanbase, hm? I guess this is a great example of the struggles of being in a band. Green goes through the transformation and beginning of a band when it forms, to when gigs turn into concerts and the struggles of keeping a fanbase and dealing with the media, press and paparazzi stalkers that will hunt you down and create heart-breaking moments between families and relationships.

This was real, new and unlike anything I've ever felt and read about before. If I close my eyes and picture the books' events coming to life, it'll be so easy and real to image. Since the writing was simplistic but very intriguing, I felt that I was part of the book, and I was a bystander watching everything happening, leaving the tears falling out of the characters' eyes and seeing the loss in Melissa's heart when she found out the news about Luke.

I've gone through a lot of the review without even telling you what this gorgeous book is really about. Melissa Webb is the girlfriend of a rockstar, Luke Black, the lead singer of the British boy-band The Black Eagles. She's so in love with him, and this book tells us all about their meeting and the development in their relationship to the point of the climax in the novel. It's a tough job, as there's a fanbase and people who also adore her boyfriend... including his ex, who is serious when she says that she's after Melissa. The Black Eagles are becoming more and more famous after the landed second place in a music competition and soon enough, things get even more chaotic after the media and gossips begin to tear Melissa and Luke's relationship apart, and then Luke goes missing.

DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNN *goes on for forever* When I actually met Luke and Kat Green began jumping in and out from the past perspective to the present one, the feels finally came to me and I actually realized what this sense of him going missing really means. All around Melissa while she was in the hospital, everyone was depressed—from her best friend, Beth, to Dale, Luke's greatest best friend in the world and bandmate. Even Melissa's parents couldn't believe that the famous guy who took their daughter's heart is gone. And through that perspective, the author makes everything more and more suspenseful and worse in the situation until we're brought into the shocking unpredictable ending where everything collapsed and finished like a blur. I hadn't even seen something coming, I'm telling you.

I'm always in for psychological thrillers. I feel that these things happen day after day in real life, and this happening with a famous star? This is much better than the norm, I tell you, and it's not everyday when you read about something like this. Green dropped from psychological aspects, to pure romance, to illusions where people think that they know what's going to happen when it doesn't. The plot of this was simply perfect and for a longer novel like this, it was fast-paced and if you took a page or even a wonderful paragraph out of the book, everything would've collapsed. I was intrigued from the first chapter, and I actually never thought that I would enjoy this book as much as I actually proved to had have. Man, what great novels are coming out lately!

I think that I can compare this novel's idea to a mix of Liars, Inc. by Paula Stokes and Far From You by Tess Sharpe, where both novels include and contribute to aspects of friendship and loss, just like Green tried to compare and commence here. The ending left my heart racing and I figured that it would truly tell readers what kind of book it really is. *wriggles eyebrows*

You can't handle the truth about what really happened, my friends because you'll have to prepare. Get ready to prepare for a heart-dropping, sad face but happy face moment. That's the only hint that I'll be throwing out to you, because you'll certainly need that hint to make your day. If you're a slow reader, then this may be one of the things that'll keep your feels and emotions in sane if you feel like you're being struck by the events of the book and you feel all of Melissa's loss-stuff to the fullest extent. Other than that, you'll have to read and see, because I wasn't lucky enough to have anyone warning me. Just saying. Hah.

The only thing that actually brought my rating of this book down where it actually had the capability and chances of being a 5 star perfect novel was the character of Melissa. She was likeable, don't get me wrong, but I felt some weird vibe coming from her character. She was too naïve, and although she probably is young, at least around her 20s, she should still know better. She thought that she was kick-ass like her best friend Beth and could do whatever she wants without telling anyone—like with the stalker incident—but she just couldn't. She wanted to show that she had that confidence and ability, but it was all self-esteem and the power that she felt when her boyfriend beau Luke complimented her that made her roll. She was okay, I liked her, but she wasn't keeping the role of a heroine as I hoped she would. No, we don't need a Nancy Drew, clue detective, by the way.

LUKE BLACK IS MY NEW FICTIONAL BOYFRIEND. Who doesn't want a boyfriend who will sing to you as you're falling asleep and look into your eyes with that grim, gorgeous look in his? What about someone who plays the guitar and cares about you so much and brings you on stage with him, not caring if you make a fool out of yourself and him? That's Luke. He was sexy, gorgeous, and so hot that I really need a fan to whip my hair around. He's one of my favourite parts of the novel. Just like one fan said, Melissa is a lucky girl. ;)

I can't even get started with the romance. It wasn't just romance—it was real love, not just physical but the needy, emotional one that everyone wishes for but some people don't get for. They needed each other like we need water or food. And them without each other... the story missed something and they missed something from each other. *cries*

Strings has actually left me hanging with strings. All of the marks from the gorgeous book are still with me, tied all over me until I read the next book, because I feel addicted to the author's writing. It's strong, smart, and unlike anything I've read before. Anyone will enjoy and adore this, and I'm begging you to go and grab a copy, because you won't be left disappointed. And hey, JUST LOOK AT THE GOODREADS RATING! Doesn't that show you something? Yes, you need this book, it's tempting you, people.

Ever wonder what the life of a rock star might be like? Kat Green nails it in Strings! From the young kids writing and creating their own music; begging for gigs to the record deal and making it big. Strings isn’t just about the band, the Black Eagles, it’s a romance about Luke and Melissa as well as a suspense. Luke is the front man and writes the songs for the Black Eagles. He and Melissa meet at a gig before they make it big. The two are instantly attracted to one another and fall deeply in love. It is Melissa who notices a flyer that is the beginning of the Black Eagles rise to fame. They are not the only love fated couple in this book and bonds form while new friendships are made. Lurking on the outside is Amber who feels stabbed in the heart by Luke and Melissa.

The novel opens with Melissa lying in a hospital bed and Luke has disappeared. Slowly the threads reveal themselves and the suspense deepens. A hooded stalker with a knife, sleazy pictures of Luke with another woman, Melissa stuck in the middle of her own “affair”. What is real and who are their true friends? Emotionally Strings is a roller coaster ride as the couples relationship evolves throughout these events. I didn’t put the book down except to read for two days!

A captivating, suspenseful journey!

I love, love, love this story! The first chapter had me hooked and it was fantastic. Kat is an amazing author and this story shows it. The story line is absolutely great! Ever since I finished reading it all I do is talk about it because I think everyone should read it! This story deserves so much more recognition then its got I believe this story could be as popular as The Fault In Our Stars! The story shows the relationship of two people going through loads of emotions such as love and heartbreak and how she deals with him being so famous and she captures those feelings so well! This story has became one of my favourites as it's so beautifully written and it's just fantastic! I didn't want the story to end at all but at the same time I had to know what was going to happen! My heart broke a few times reading this story but the ending made it all worth while and I really believe everyone should go out and get this book of Amazon because you won't be disappointed at all!

I took me a bit to get into this book not because it was bad but I had just really switched gears from reading Nocturnes with its "in your face" dialogue to this rock romance book. Now after saying that I say if you get a chance to read this book...do!!

It was the kind of book that once I started it I did not get any else accomplished at home. It had me up late at night even trying to find out what was happening. I loved the characters because they were made to come to life.

It had one of those endings that you had to keep reading to find out "who was involved". Some of no surprise and then others were. I remember seeing someone else's review of this book & it just said "Wow"...they were right. If you are looking for a rock romance with a little thriller mixed in, this is a book for you. It was a nice change of pace for me.

This book definitely kept me up all night and into the next day, because I found it impossible to put down. The author did an incredible job, of keeping the story intriguing, wanting you to read page after page. Originally, I thought the book was going to entail a young romance, between Melissa and Luke. But it was so much more.
Shortly after meeting Luke, Melissa enters his band The Black Eagles, in a contest, which they end up winning and helps to skyrocket the bands career. In the midst, of the budding romance between Melissa and Luke, an obsessed girl named Amber enters the picture. On a drunken night, Luke had sex with Amber, and she began to stalk him, believing that night was more than it was. The tale soon turns into something unbelievable and I really wish I could tell you, but I would ruin the story. To find out you will

Love this love story!

From page one this book had me hooked with its quirky, loveable characters, the reality of the rock world, and the mystery woven in to the events. The Black Eagles band catapulted to fame with a little engineering from lead man Luke Black's true love Melissa Webb. The two of them find themselves as a celebrity couple with all the problems fame brings. Amidst gossip, misunderstandings, and back biting an even bigger threat looms. All the money in the world can't keep them from the determined clutches of a dangerous and psycho stalker.

I have read and re-read this book and loved it both times. I couldn't put it down from the moment i started it. This is a sit on the edge of your seat holding your breath book. There aren't many books that have done this for me over the years, I'm a sucker for guessing (and am usually right) who the culprit is and it wasn't who i had first thought. LOVE A BOOK THAT KEEPS ME GUESSING !!! I can't wait to read the follow up of this wonderful Romantic Suspense. The characters are now like my best friends. i feel like i'm part of the family !!!

A MUST READ :-)

WOW!

Romance? check Hot rockers? check Intrigue? check Psychos? check WAIT, WHAT??? YEP, this book has all that and more! I was definitely on the edge of my seat reading this story, book 1 in a trilogy. Melissa and Luke meet and it doesn't take long for them to fall in love. Coming in 2nd at a battle of the bands, the Black Eagles rocket to the top almost overnight. While they are falling in love, Melissa ' s best friend, Beth, and Luke's best friend and band mate, Dale, are also falling in love. But it isn't an easy road for any of them. There is a psycho fan out there who wants Luke and she won't stop for anything to get him.

A really good start to this series. One of the best parts for me is it isn't a cliffhanger! Now on to book 2!

This is not your typical rockstar romance, it is so much more. The story and characters are complex, very well written, and believable. The author effortlessly draws the reader into the story, it feels as though you are a part of what is going on. There is plenty of suspense, a little action, and a whole lot of romance. Definitely worth reading.

Find my review here on my blog (& below):

http://elementaread.blogspot.co.uk/20...

Kat Green very kindly sent me a digital copy of her novel 'Strings' to review and I absolutely loved it!

'Strings' is a romance/thriller based around a rock band called The Black Eagles. It opens with Melissa, girlfriend of the lead singer, in hospital after a brutal attack. Her boyfriend, Luke is missing. Melissa is telling the police what happened, and through her we get the whole story of how they met and how The Black Eagles rose to fame. Melissa and her best friend Beth met the band when they were still unknown and playing in pubs. After meeting the band backstage after the show Melissa and Beth are welcomed into the group, Beth also dating one of the band, Dale. The girls also meet Amber that night, a crazed fan who it turns out had a one night stand with Luke and is now obsessed with him.

The book is comprised of flashbacks of Melissa's story, interspersed with scenes of present-day Melissa in the hospital. I think this format worked really well as we are hit full blast with the thriller storyline right at the beginning which grips the reader from page one, then we get the romance and rock band story throughout. This format is also really great for letting the reader piece together what happened with the attack and I felt like I was part of the story, working out the mystery alongside the police.

I know nothing of how the music business works and am not the sort of person who goes to lots of gigs, but I found this book very interesting an learned a lot about how musicians can get their big break and what happens afterwards with the record labels. It's both entertaining and informative! This book also emphasises on how the media can cause problems by making things up for a story and how troublesome the paparazzi can be for bands and their friends.

The books ends (this isn't a spoiler, I promise!) with the conclusion to the thriller part and I thought the ending was just perfect. It is so well written and so easy to read that it's really hard to put it down. The characters are all so rounded and well written that I really cared about all of them and wanted to read about their lives. So much so that I was disappointed when I came to the end, and wanted to read more about how they dealt with the aftermath of the attack!

This was such a great debut novel from Kat and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work in the future. In fact, this book was so good that I've ordered a signed paperback copy from Kat's blog :)

I was surprised by how much I liked this book. The author herself gave me this book in return for an honest review, but at first I thought it wasn't my thing. But I have to say it really is! I've never read New Adult before and I didn't realise it a new adult book until I was halfway through.
But I had a few things that bottered me while reading the book. Melissa was only 20 (turned 21 in the book) and she already live on her own, even though she didn't seem to have problems with her parents. This seems weird to me, because I'm 20, don't have any problems with my parents and I ''still'' live at home. Is this weird or is it just me? I also would have loved it more if the storyline was written in a different way. With that I mean that there are flashbacks in the story (basically Melissa is telling everything that had happened through the past year and everything) and I wished it was just from the moment she and Luke met until the ''big thing'' without knowing what the big thing was. But on the other hand: the way the author told the story seems to fit in as well! Which surprised me. Oh and also, what is it with the ''Oh I love you so much''-thing when two people just have met each other? Yes I think that sometimes as well, but it just gives people hopes about love and also when you have an ex he/she will get back to you eventually, but I wish some authors would mix that up (this is not a spoiler btw!). That was another tthing hat bothered me a little, so that's why I gave this book a 4.75 star rating (instead of a 5).

Overall I think the story was really unique and captivating. I couldn't forget about the characters when I wasn't reading and I had to know what happened. So I highly recommend this one if you want to try something new adult!

I have to admit I did have a hard time getting into this book at the beginning but it didn't take long before I was sucked into it and didn't want to put it down. All the crazy ups and downs of the life of a group of rock stars and their significant others was mind blowing and very creative. This story is full of mystery and love so strong that even being in the spot light doesn't pull them apart and if it does it's not for long. There are a couple "crazy" characters that get really scary in their actions. I feel that Kat Green did an excellent job bringing these characters to life and the life of being a rock star as well.

I was offered this book through Double Decker Books for an honest review.

I was given this book for an honest review. The story about a rock band and the main women in their lives centres primarily in Portsmouth and London. It is about a budding new band and how they grow to stardom. The story flowed and yes I agree was slow in places to start with. But upon reflection the writer has a calmness and steady pace with her writing. Because once you get to the middle of the book it's gripping you and you cannot put the book down. Twists and turns keeps the book alive. Not all good things happen which adds to the variety. The main characters are great and you feel part of the story - it's interesting and believable. Not one to give spoilers it is well worth the read and I'm looking forward to book 2. Well done Kat.

A heartfelt romance set in the Rock and Roll music scene. This story has it all, music, love, sex, drugs, kidnappings, attempted murder, and best of all a happy ending. This story totally made me cry, which sometimes is what I like...although it freaked my husband out to wake up with me crying. You think after 22 years he would be used to it.

This is a great read and I highly recommend it. I give this book 5 out of 5 clouds. But keep the tissues handy

Beginning at the end, Strings plays out like a flashback with intermittent stops in the present time as Melissa recounts the events leading up to the current tragedy. A tragedy which could have been avoided. Amber showed all the classic tendencies of a severely disturbed individual yet no one did anything about it to stop her. If that had been done, we would have spent less time on psychodrama and more time on the drama revolving a regular girl dating a rock star drama. It just felt as if that was dragged on a lot longer than necessary. As it is, after a while it got annoying and the Amber drama was dragging the story on longer than it had to.

As much as I enjoyed the story, it was difficult to tell at times who was speaking. It just went from one character directly into the other without pause. At times even from one sentence to the next in the same paragraph. Still, it was a good read.

I will admit that the surprise twist was a shocker to me. Well done. Not much surprises me when it comes to books and plots and this one did a great job at doing that. I sure did not see that coming. Overall, it was a pretty good story with interesting characters. Beth and Melissa have a bit if an impulse problem which made them seem so much younger than they were supposed to be, but their friendship was a thing of beauty. Melissa and Luke were just so sweet. I didn't see these huge sparks that I keep hearing about, but a level of caring that could withstand time. I loved them as a couple. I just couldn't understand why they continued to put their relationship on the line time and time again by making stupid choices that allowed Amber to continue her psycho tendencies and others to come between them.

I enjoyed it and the characters enough to admit that I will be reading the others in the series. Maybe not right away, some of the terminology really threw me at times and possibly dampened my enjoyment of the story, but eventually, if I have nothing else pending I could be persuaded to pick the other books in the series up.

This is the second series I have read that is all about rock n roll. Let me introduce you the Black Eagles a rock band on the rise . They are on the fast track and Melissa Webb the girlfriend of the frontman Luke Black . When Luke goes missing and Melissa is in the hospital hurt . Their world crumbles around them and they need to find Luke before its too late.
You will absolutely love the characters in this book . Melissa is a sweet girl who with the love of her man can get through anything. It starts with Melissa in the hospital and tells the story from then on how she ended up there . At first you kind of are sucked with a poor Melissa but as you read you find out how strong she is. Luke is well he is a guys guy and loves the lime light . He comes of cocky sometimes but with his friends and the woman he loves he is the rock that holds them all together . The rest of the band . Dale , Toby and Tom . They are close knit and more like brothers then band mates .Now with every band they have their fans and their stalkers and this band is no different. Amber is crazy and I mean crazy . She will do anything to get Luke for her own . You have to read the book see what happens with her .
This story has a bit before it starts to get really good . It really picks up in chapter 2 . Chapter 1 sets up the story and why Melissa is in the hospital . The author takes us on a roller coaster ride and trust me it is a tear jerker sometimes . There are a couple of intense scenes with the label head and what he does to Melissa. But she comes through it . You will cheer and cry and yell at your kindle while you are reading . Be prepared to not get anything done once you start reading . You will want to jump right into the second book after you are finished the first one . So if you like rock n roll check them out . Put them on your fall and winter reading list

A suspenseful story mixed in with some drama and romance!

The story begins with Melissa in the hospital in what appears to be a breakdown. It doesn’t give anything away as to what happened that put her there or what happened to Luke and why he isn’t there with her. He has just disappeared without a trace. That is where the mystery begins. Of course the answer won’t come until the end of the story. However, you will read a story full of drama, love, mistakes, and anger; all mixed in with suspense and suspicion. Just when you think you figured it all out, there is a turn in events that will have you questioning what you just read.

I thought I knew who/what had caused the disappearing act and put Melissa in the hospital however I was not expecting the ending. It was a surprise to me although looking back it shouldn’t have been. I thought the author did a great job of keeping the suspense going through the whole book and not giving away the twist. The story will definitely keep you guessing and intrigued from beginning to end.

There was some terminology that I wasn’t familiar with that threw me a little however it was pretty easily to figure out what it meant. (For example, fag means cigarette and slag means slut). It keeps with where the story is based (UK) and doesn’t take anything away from your reading experience.

This is the first book I have read by Kat Green and will not be my last. I am already starting book 2 in the series. I recommend Strings to anyone that wants to read an intense thriller that will pull at your emotions and draw you in from the beginning to the end.

Oh my goodness this book!
I was hooked from the first page.

In a back and forth, from past to present, we learn about Melissa Webb's journey of finding love with her rockstar boyfriend, Luke Black, her transformation inside the public eye, and the ultimate end to a stalker gone crazy.

There were times I got so annoyed at how Melissa and Luke behaved towards each other. However, I can understand how life can become difficult when everything you do is made public overnight. I think one of my favorite characteristics of Melissa is that she is a fighter and doesn't hold a grudge. During her break up with Luke she never once made him feel bad for keeping company with other women. She also fights the stalker with everything she has to ensure those she loves are not hurt.

I say this is a bit of a cliffhanger ending because we don't get to learn about how Luke and Melissa move past being betrayed by those closest to them. However, since the second book is already out, you don't have to wait to find out what happens.

My only complaint about this book, there were many times when the author would get the words were and was mixed up. It was a constant throughout the entire book and started to deviate my enjoyment of the book after a while.

Can I just say WOW, Kat Green shows us what it's like when the band , Black Eagles , becomes famous and what they go thru during this time. Like a roller coaster, things twist and turn, go up and down so you never know for sure which way the story is going to go next. It felt like I was along for the ride and seeing it all happen right in front of me. Don't ever think that you know what is going to happen next because you Kat Green can throw a curve that will knock you out of your socks. This is a must read book and I'm looking forward to the next book

This is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by this author. This is a plot that is dripping in mystery and suspense from start to finish. It’s set around the music industry but could easily be related to anyone in this day and age. Melissa and Luke go through hell for no reason other than they love each other which upsets obsessed fans. This is a wonderful story and a page-turner. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Mixed Review

It rare for me to struggle with a writing style. I don’t think you can call it a writing style. It felt like at times it was written by a grammar school student. The abrupt changing of characters had me rereading trying to figure out who was talking. A good editor could have helped. That being said there is so much potential with this cast of characters and the plot. It’s unusual to have rockstar, mystery and intrigue in one book.
