Angie sighed. A small smile began to form as she recalled the moments that led up to this incredible feeling. Life was good-no, life was amazing. It hadn't always been, but today at forty-six, it sure was. She had reached a good space in her life. She was content, in love, at peace with her past, and excited about her future. Tomorrow she was marrying her soul mate. She ha ...more

I absolutely loved this book. You would never know it was a debut novel as it was very well written. Sandra Steiner wrote this book from the very depths of her heart and soul and it will leave a lasting impression on you long after you finish the last paragraph. The lengthy path Angie takes to get to her happily ever after is filled with many trials and and some serious heartbreak. However, the immense love and faith Angie has keeps her going when some who are not as strong would have simply giv ...more

***I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.***

This story is very different from what I am used to reading. I connected with the main character Angie, but for me the story was something that was narrated to you rather than you experiencing it. I just read Angie's story, I didn't feel or live it. Don't get me wrong it is not a bad thing, but there was no dialogue really between characters. All of the book is narrated in third person from Angie's perspective. I goes throu

"Cherish the Past: Spring Island Trilogy Part One" takes the reader on the journey of Angie's life. Told in third person, the book starts with Angie thinking back on her life since age 18 and all the heartache, tragedy, love and joy that brought her to her current point in life.

Angie is a very strong, selfless character, able to endure heartbreak and betrayal, without becoming cynical and careless herself. The author paints a realistic picture of a young woman basically raising three

“Life was good. No life was amazing”.

When we read that we thought awesome this book is going to be good, which it was a good book.

Angie is a 46 year old that goes back over the past 29 years of her life from when she was 16 right up to the present, she goes through a bit of heart ache from her cheating husband, the devastation of losing a child and then finds her long lost brother, then finds true love. (I

This is a great debut novel about the struggles and triumphs of one woman trying to find herself.

Angie has lived all her life feeling that her husband Alex is the love of her life and that she can’t live without him. He is always away “due to work” and leaves her alone to take care of their home and children.

Angie starts taking matters into her own hands after several years of this routine and so begins her process of becoming self-sufficient. It is wonderful to see that

Cherish The Past is a reflection of Angie's life. A story about her struggles and how she never gave up hope. The book covers a lot of ground; twenty nine years from her leaving high school, up until just before her second wedding – her happy ever after.

What can I say? Angie is one strong, independent woman. What she has to endure is definitely not for the weak and faint-heated. Her ability to just keep going despite having to deal with a deceitful and cheating husband, the ultimate

Brilliant debut novel!

Firstly I can not bring myself to wish anyone to go through the hell that main character Angie went through.

You first go through her first marriage with high school sweet heart Alex, they have 3 beautiful children and her best friend Liz is pregnant at the same time as her. They are more like sisters than best friends.

Unfortunately marriage is hard for everyone and Angie's and Alex's marriage is put through the ringer,

Angie goes through life heart

When I sat down to read this book, I wasn't expecting how good of a book I was getting into . I started reading in the evening and I was done that very night. You get really caught up in the lives of the characters . The main character Angie has had a very rough life. The book takes us from the age of 18 through her first marriage . Which she basically lived through hell. Her first husband Alex was a horrible, horrible man. She had the strength to move on and the life she lead afterwards was fo

Let's start off by saying that this was a very good debut. From the very first page, I was captured by the story. We first meet Angie, a strong, enduring, and caring woman. We see her on the wedding day of her second marriage and she begins to tell the readers about her past life experiences. Now, this book is heavy. It will stir some very emotional feelings out of you. There were parts of the story that were a struggle for me to get through. Not because I didn't enjoy it, but because I connecte ...more

I was kindly gifted this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It was lovely how Angie took you on the journey of her life including all the ups and downs. I found it a little bit predictable along one major event in her life. I dont mind being able to figure something out while reading but not from the first couple of chapters. Another important milestone had me in floods of tears and had my heartbreaking. A few other shocks thrown in for go

3.5 STARS

Take a walk through the life of the main character Angie and watch as she deals with love, heartbreak and loss as she tries to become a woman that can raise her children independently.

The story has a lot of potential, however it is hard in parts to feel the emotion as I feel the book needs more description and detail to truly enjoy.

I am hoping the rest of the series covers more details as the general story line is good!

This is a warmhearted story about a woman who does everything she can to have a happy life. In the book she goes through a lot of emotional pain and loss. I wanted to feel more for her because I’ve been through many of the things she endured. I just couldn’t get deeply connected to any of the characters. It’s hard to explain but normally I would have been crying tears of joy and sorrow but was left wanting more from the experience. I enjoyed this book but was left wondering if I missed something ...more

I really enjoyed reading this book. Although you could predict what was going to come next. I would recommend this book to someone that likes short novels, because I prefer a book that I can get stuck into every detail. I will read book 2 and 3 of this trilogy, and look forward to seeing what Sandra comes out with next.

There are parallels in Sandra's writing and real life, that's true. However, the motive for writing her novels is to inspire her readers to be strong, independent women. Sandra believes if you believe in yourself, anything is possible. The novels are suitable for teen through adult readers. Sandra's novels have been well received, and Cherish the Past and Live for Today have been awarded the gold ...more
