An okay read, but I'm sorry to say that I didn't love it all that much. It wasn't a bad read, but I had one issue with it that just ruined the whole thing for me. Altogether, it wasn't bad, but neither was it that great for me.

Victoria was a frustrating heroine. I wanted to admire that she was so strong and independently minded, but too often, that translated into frustrating stubbornness and borderline meanness. One thing that really annoyed me was how she acted in the courtroom. She acted out,

I enjoyed this romance that was as much about women's rights as it was a romance. Victoria Wentworth is a beautiful American heiress whose father has betrothed her to a dissolute and disgusting English aristocrat - Lord Stanford. A proponent of women's rights, Victoria refuses to marry him leading the jilted fiance to sue her. If she loses, she will be penniless.

The hero of the romance is Hugh Worth, Earl Montgomery and Lord Chancellor of the Exchequer. He is the judge in the case. Since they ar

They say some of the events from a book reflects their creators greatest ideas and personal events, even if it's fiction. If so, after devouring this historical romance, I must say I love the life and ideals that Joan Avery presents to readers through Victoria, - our leading lady; her passion for women rights and their place in society, really draws you in and takes you back to that part of history, a young woman like me can only imagine.

Immediately, the

Hugh Worth, the Earl Montgomery and Lord Chancellor of the Exchequer, is the judge and jury for Victoria's case. Before the trial starts, he just imagines that Victoria

Really loved the premise...it felt fresh and unique. Full review coming soon.

** I loved the first book in the series Love’s Revenge and this second book did not disappoint me. I absolutely adored the premise. It felt fresh and exciting, and the author told the story in such an engaging manner.
Our heroine Victoria is very stubborn and strong head, sometimes frustratingly so, but I still enjoyed her character. That is because I do not like wilting misses in my books at all. She was decisive, smart
