Lieutenant and Navy SEAL Derek Vaughn and FBI Agent Elizabeth LeBlanc worked together almost a year ago, came close to a romance but went their separate ways as she wasn’t interested in a non committed relationship and he went on another long term mission. Now they’ve been thrown together again following Derek’s latest op where they discovered intelligence about a major terrorist threat targeting the city of Houston. She’s been assigned to the task force and he’s on the periphery of the FBI-led ...more
Mindy Lou's Book Review
In book 8 we have an FBI agent Elizabeth LeBlanc and navy seal Derek Vaughn working together to figure out the next terrorist plot against US soil.

Beyond Limits is jammed packed with fast action as these two search out leads to not only find out who are the players behind a suspected threat, but what that actual threat is.

I'm finding this series to be a good thrill read. It is heavier on the suspense than the romance and I usually prefer more romance. That speaks to how good the suspense has

It’s one of my favorite times of the year! No, not Christmas…… Laura Griffin has a new Tracers book out!! A book highlight of my year for sure. Beyond Limits is book number eight in the series, and yet again she has outdone herself.

The romance/suspense balance is so on point. The dynamic between FBI agent Elizabeth LeBlanc and Navy Seal Derek Vaughn is smart, witty, and tension-building. With a case that mimics real world events, I was drawn in with my heart racing right along with these

Notes to self:

2.5 stars rounded down...

Plot: Even though terrorist plots aren't my favorite story line, I thought this one was strong and well laid out.

Heroine: Strong, smart and independent thinking heroine with some issues but they didn't overshadow who she was. I really liked Elizabeth's character.

Hero: Way too good to be true and his over the top strengths overshadow the heroine, the plot and the romantic subplot. I know he's a Seal and I totally get the appeal and awesomeness of Seals, but

“Why are you gun-shy with me?”

Only a couple of books in and already this series is one of my favorites. Laura Griffin’s writing is fast-paced, riddled with explosive chemistry and always seems to have that unputdownable quality I crave.

This one was a little heavier on the suspense side, but there was still a crazy intense connection between Elizabeth and Derek. A part of me wants to jump right into Scorched (book 6) so bad, just to see them meet for the first time! I started off with book 10

Beyond Limits by Laura Griffin is beyond thrilling and palpable. This is the 8th book in the Tracer series and Ms. Griffin does not disappoint her readers since this book is action-packed, suspenseful, and a roller-coaster ride that full of heart-pounding adventures. A book that can’t be put down and must be read in one sitting. Romance and suspense are intertwined beautifully in this thrilling book that focuses on one hot

When you put Navy Seals, FBI agents, other government agencies with three letters, and a terrorist cell you have all the ingredients of an action packed Laura Griffin new Tracers novel. She immediately introduces key characters and their back stories. “Beyond Limits,” story line illustrates complications of the FBI working with or even recognizing the efforts of the Navy Seal team.

I loved this book - one to go on my favorites list.

Great balance of hot romance with complicated, real characters and a really exciting, plot driven thrill ride.

I really, really like Laura Griffin's books, so much so that I have a NetGalley account beacuse I CAN'T WAIT to read the next one. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, so thanks, NetGalley.

This is one of my beach reads. I enjoy Laura Griffins' romantic suspense novels and this one is just as good as the others. FBI agent and Navy SEAL - what more do you need? The only thing is that this is called a Tracers novel, but the Delphi Center and the experts there play a small part in this story so if you really liked that aspect, you won't see those characters as much. The ending is also a bit too...neat, but hey, I read these books for pure entertainment so give me more!

Laura Griffin rules the military style romantic suspense genre. This eighth installment in the Tracers series does not disappoint.

Elizabeth is an FBI agent still struggling with the aftermath of her last case and the lingering feelings she has for Navy SEAL Derek Vaughn.

I devoured this book. Once I started I couldn't stop and finished it in one sitting. I'd never read anything by this author before and can't wait to read more from her! This book is book 8 in her Tracers series but with me starting out with this one, I followed along and wasn't confused with any of the story. So you don't have to start out at book 1. But I think I'll go back and start there and work my way up.

Laura Griffin can write really good suspense. In previous books I’ve read, her bad guys are BAD. Her heroes and heroines are smart and the books are always action-packed. My one complaint has always been the lack of romance. There is always a HEA, but the road to romance is not always super sexy or detailed. I’ve actually skipped her last couple because reviews have said the romance is even less than normal. But this book has a Navy SEAL hero and a FBI heroine with a terrorist plot – that ...more

Wow, this was my first book by Laura Griffin and it won't be my last. I'm not usually into terroristic thrillers, but this one had me entranced. I read it in one sitting. The action was fast paced and had me on the edge of my seat through most of the book. I say most because there were a few chapters I had to skip. I'm not into romance books. I like when the characters shut the bedroom door, I know what they are doing. I don't need details.

That being said, it did not take anything away from the

Wow! How have I gone this long without reading anything by this author before?! I love when a book comes out of nowhere and knocks me off my feet! I really, really enjoyed Beyond Limits. Laura Griffin writes amazing romantic suspense! This is actually the 8th book in a series, but can definitely be read as a standalone. It's pretty rare that a series can still pack such a heavy punch with it's 8th book, but Beyond Limits did it and then some. Now I'm anxious to go back to the

This book was solid in its delivery. There was a well-rounded plot about an unknown terrorist on US soil. The characters were strong and independent in their own right.

I just wish that I could have connected to the characters a bit more. I felt so detached from them.

A captivating blend of mystery, romance and non-stop action.

Author Laura Griffin captivates with the latest installment in the Tracer series, a story of unrequited passion and second chances amidst a terrifying situation that unfolds on American soil. Laura Griffin’s writing is tight, as always, her spot-on jargon lending a special kind of credibility to the story that makes you feel as if you’re vividly in the thick of things. This particular novel was heavy on the suspense side, with a bit of

A Seal rescue mission in Afghanistan uncovers a possible terrorist attack planned on US soil and FBI agent Elizabeth (Liz) LeBlanc is recruited by the agency’s counterterrorist division to investigate. The first order of business is to interview some of the Seals involved in the rescue, one of whom she met on a previous case who still fuels her fantasies. But reality warns her not to get too close to a man with so many secrets even though it would be oh so tempting.

This is an action packed story filled with suspense, drama and romance. Lieutenant Derek Vaughn is a dedicated Navy Seal and when he and his team are on a mission they discover information that leads them to believe there is going to be a terrorist attack in the United States. Derek is on leave now and wants to help uncover the plot, but his hands are tied because this isn’t his jurisdiction.

I've really enjoyed a number of books in this series, but the last couple have not worked for me at all. The focus has shifted away from the smarty pants scientists at the Delphi Center and into the FBI and Navy SEALs and various terrorist type activities. I have a lot of issues with these sorts of plots in thrillers and the undertones in them, and the Tracers books dealing with that subject are no different. Basically, unless there's a Ben Lawson book in the works, I'm done with this series, ...more
Not my favorite and I don't really believe in the relationship, but the angst of it all was very appealing. I'm sort of over the terrorism books, though, can we go back to murders?

ETA: Also, I don't think the hero ever tells the heroine that he loves her? Which, again, these aren't straight romances but I feel like that's a party foul considering they're uprooting their lives for each other at the end.

Well written, well researched, meticulously plotted...and a little dry and boring. The story simply failed to keep my full attention, which got lost in all the lengthy detail. Also, everything the plot threw at our intrepid couple just happened to be conveniently within Derek's particular SEAL skill set. I like the 'Tracers' series, but this one not so much.

This was an awesome book!

Elizabeth LeBlanc's character portrays herself as this fiery, fiercely confident FBI agent but that persona comes crashing down as soon as Navy SEAL Derek Vaughn steps back into her life. Elizabeth and Derek have spent the past year away from each other but pining for each other. While Elizabeth kept herself busy trying to get over Derek, he spent his time trying to figure out how to

My Review:
This was the first book I've read from Laura Griffin (I know, I know...I should lose my romantic suspense reader card, but I've seen the error of my ways, I promise) and I really like it. I see why her books always hit the bestseller lists. This book was really incredibly good.

The heroine, Elizabeth, is an FBI agent who had an assignment go wrong recently and is having a hard time getting back on task in the office. Her jerk of a boss certainly isn't helping things, so it's a huge

One word comes to mind when I think about BEYOND LIMITS...EXPLOSIVE! Explosive Action, Explosive Chemistry and an Explosive, on the edge of your seat story line. If you thought you had a favorite Tracers Novel...Well...Think Again!

BEYOND LIMITS was beyond my expectations...Laura Griffin's writing was spot on, with knowledge, and facts that keep you sucked into the story, literally dropping you right in the middle of the action, as if you are there watching the story unfold. Griffin's style of

Elizabeth LeBlanc and Derek Vaughn meet again under rather implausible circumstances when Derek finds evidence of a terrorist sleeper cell during an operation in Afghanistan that leads him straight back to Texas and back to Elizabeth. Having spent the better part of a year pining for each other, Elizabeth and Derek have a real chance at making things work between them, even though it seems the obstacles (both perceived and real) are too many to overcome without losses or heavy compromises.
