I've recently been dabbling in infusing spirits and am intrigued by the idea of home distillation. Despite the title, this book emphatically is not about distillation.

Basically, the author has asked some of his hipster bartender friends to write brief descriptions of infusions that they make. Without editing or standardizing them, he then compiled them in this book, and took some photographs of liquor in bottles, mostly as a vehicle to display his vast array of bottles.

All told, this book is mainly aimed at the Axe Body Spray crowd and is not worth the price. Feel free to browse it at your local library.

I should have read the title better, I thought this was more perfume making. But the recipes in here for drinks are very creative and the flavors seem they’ll go well together.

Good size, layout, content.
I've had a couple of really good concoctions from here. Most of the entries could be found somewhere on the internet but that's no fault of the book's. It's a nice jumping off point and reference.

My favorite chapter in the book is "Featured Infusions" which is a collection of drinks from celebrated mixologists.

I love this book! I have made so many things out of it and they are all super yummy and easy. My only complaint is that every once in awhile there is a recipe that doesn't have instructions for storage and shelf life. I love that there are cocktail suggestions for most of them.

Has a lot of different drink ideas. the only thing that I wish the book had was a chapter about home brewing whiskey, beer etc.

Great book! So many different concoctions and nice photos throughout. I'll have the October Apple Liqueur ready for fall- can't wait!

5 stars for infusions, 0 stars for information on home distilling--it was misleading to include those words in the title.
