Take Me Down, sizzling hot interracial romance (BWWM), is a stand alone novel in the Suits in Pursuit series.

One night changed destiny. Now, six years later, Ashley Turner is confronted with the anger and bitterness that has become her crutch. Scars have left her calloused and with an attitude as sour as vinegar served neat, keeping men at a necessary distance.

In the immortal words of Queen, another one bites the dust.

Why does Amazon continue to torture me thus? I am seriously reaching the end of my patience with this kind of FAIL:

He imagined rummaging his fingers through her straight dark hair and then fondling naked, tawny-colored flesh.

This drives me nutty - the description of this story says it’s a stand-alone in the Suits in Pursuit series. I saw that and assumed (that’s what I get for assuming) that this is a single book that can be read independently. Then for further confirmation on my theory, I see that it’s 288 pages and I just know it’s going to be a single book in a series. That’s not what happened, instead what happened was…on the last page of this story, this is what is saw – ‘coming soon. The story of Ashley and ...more

Although Take Me Down is a very well written story, I found Ashley hard to take at times. Ashley has survived the loss of what she considered her true love, but despite trying to move on she has not managed to find her own sense of happiness. After catching her current boyfriend cheating on her Ashely is now not only still mourning the loss of a great love but is now angry as well. The amount of resentment and animosity that is bottled up in Ashley often comes out as sarcastic vitriol that is ...more

I was given this book for my honest review.

A fine Vinaigrette is what this book reminds me of for some odd known reason with oil and vinegar with just the right amount of spices the mixture becomes complete and the taste is out of this world. But when you don’t get the mixture right something tastes off.

Sebastian-very cute hunky, outspoken

Ashley-funny, witty and sarcastic

This book was loaned to me from a First Reads winner.

Overall, the book was OK. There were a few grammatical and spelling errors (present tense used when past tense was appropriate, "anecdote" used instead of "antidote", etc...), perhaps 1 or 2 every 5 or 6 pages. It seemed as though there was some extraneous plot - at the beginning I was more concerned about the lost dog than what the characters were doing. It was such a big deal at the beginning, but didn't really play into the plot all that

Ashley is having a really bad day. Not only does she come home to find her live-in boyfriend in bed with another woman, her beloved dog Copper runs away. Sebastian is going through a rough spell of his own and not handling things well at all. Fate has decided, or so Sebastian believes, to keep throwing these two in each others path, and they always seem to rub each other the wrong way. Can these two get over the past and make a go at future together? I have to say, I didn't like Ashley or ...more

Honestly this should be a 3.5 star rating. This story was entertaining, chock full of sexual tension and the plot kept me in suspense until the very end. It is so refreshing to have a romance novel with both perspectives (man and woman's). It is also nice to see some crossover with racial "lines" because love happens regardless of social categories. Overall I really enjoyed the book.
The only thing that bothered me about this book was occasionally erratic character behavior and a few small plot

I received a free copy of this book from the author through Goodreads and apologize that it has taken me so long to write this review, although I'm sure she would rather that I didn't. I realize how much work it takes to write a book and admire anyone that accomplishes that, but I struggled with this book. Over the last few months, I started and stopped several times, eventually giving up halfway through the book. I could not get into the characters at all - he was arrogant and distant and she ...more

Where should I start? There are so many things I found irritating about this book. The story was slow, didn't get started until half way in. The author gave the impression that Ashley and Sebastian suffers pain and lost from past relationships, yet there were nothing to build on. I didn't like Ashely and I really didn't like Sebastian, they lacks chemistry. I couldn't connect with these characters because there wasn't much character building on any of the characters. I was frustrated the entire ...more

Ashley and Sebastian's story took a bit for me to get in to. I wasn't quitr sure if it would hold my attention. Sebastian seemed to come on too strong for me, but soon I grew to like him and Ashley. The story was hot and Ms. Kelley made the places and people come alive. My only issue is the ending. I was expected a HEA not a to be continued.

holy heck i need more cant wait for the next book. Sebastian and Ashley are both scared of love they fight and have awesome hot sex and keeps you glued to the pages to see if they can work it out or not. the ending did suck a little cause now i have to wait for next book but it wasn't a cliff hanger ending as such just a need to know what happens next kinda ending.

Loved It

This is the 1 first look I've read from this author/series. I think I've found another new author to add to my list. This book has everything I'm looking for in a romance novel. Parts made me laugh, cry and relate to some of their pain I can't wait for the next installment of Ashley and Sebastian

~~~RECEIVED FOR HONEST REVIEW~~~
Second chances of love comes far and few between but read this book to see how these two overcome so much and if they can make it or if they even try to give love a second chance. This book is a great read and well written from a very talented author!
I really like this series so far... I like Ashley's story a bit more; however, I'm waiting for her story to develop more since she seems so much stronger than some of her actions (which to me says that a lot of stuff is about to be told!!)
“Take Me Down” is a short, sexy read that takes advantage of the semi-tropical atmosphere of the Southern states.
Okay, I am just going to jump right in.....I did NOT like Ashley at all. She is an angry, bitter woman. I really could not get into the story with all her antics when dealing with Sebastian. I did not see the attraction, and it ends in a cliffhanger. It's a miss for me.
