Saving Angel is the follow up to A New Beginning, a debut novel by Brenda Kennedy. This is a series that needs to be read in order for full understanding and enjoyment. But no worries! After you read A New Beginning you will be scrambling to get your hands on this book, Saving Angel!

Saving Angel picks up where A New Beginning leaves off, and then it is off to the races! These books do not disappoint. You will be hooked from the very first words until you get to the very last page and then you ar

This is a great addition to the first book, A New Beginning..Once I started it I couldn't put it down until I finished it. Everything kept moving right along and kept my attention. I especially enjoyed the new characters, and maybe they will choose to have a story..the trip back home to the friends hometown was great because I have been to all the places mentioned and it made the story so much more realistic... this new author really has a talent for entertaining and if you are looking to be ent ...more

What makes this story such an outstanding read and a 5 star is the chemistry between the two main characters, along with the twists and turns the author gives you to make this one outstanding read. I fell in love with this author with her first book in this series. Abuse is never an easy thing to write about or deal with but when you have an author who gives her heart to a story like this author does you have one heck of a good read. Ms. Kennedy gives you a story where you can feel the pain of h ...more

"Saving Angel," the second book in the Starting Over Trilogy left me feeling much as I did from reading the first book. It all boils down to that fact that I like the plot but I'm not a fan of Ms. Kennedy's writing style. She tells every little detail in an unemotional/detached way and sometimes reading the pages is like watching paint dry!

In this installment, we find that Jim has located Angel in the hospital and continues his harassment of her. Mason is not about to allow this to ha

This is the 2nd book in the series and an amazing read that continues on with the story of Angel and Mason.
Angel is recovering from some serious injuries caused by a hit and run with a truck driven by her crazy ex. Almost losing Angel before he has really gotten to know her has Mason realizing how much he loves her. After another attempt on her life Mason, their families, their friends, and law enforcement start hunting her ex Jim down and take serious steps to keep her safe.

When you are reading a book and all that you think about while your reading it is the bad review you are going to write when you finish it, you probably should have stopped reading it long before the finish. I'm very sorry I didn't. I liked the first book enough for me to buy the second but this one was horrible. The dialogue was so cheesy and over the top and redundant. I think there was at least 4 times in one section that Mason mentions how he loves her scent of cinnamon and peaches. The conc ...more

Mason is in love with Angel. He doesn't care what is in her past. Her ex, Jim, may be crazy and determined to have her, but Mason is just as determined to keep her safe. After he almost gets her, Mason decides he will stop at nothing to protect her, even if its from herself.
Angel loves Mason. She loves him so much she wont let him get hurt for her. She decides the only way to protect him is to leave him. She slowly distances herself from everyone to keep the safe. Too bad Mason's not falling in

Great story but like book 1, it's way too wordy.

In this book, we find out that Mason, MD with his own practice, it's 29 years old. That just seems so unrealistic to me.

Really liked the book but the Spanish portions were poorly translated. Other than that, it kept me reading and I've pre-ordered the last book in the trilogy.

After speeding through the previous book in this series, I ignored my reservations and hoped things would get better as the story and characters warmed up...

I won't describe the plot in detail (you can read the summary in the description above). I'm just going to focus on my issues with this story:

Firstly, this series desperately needs some sort of proof-reader/editor to sort out the clunky, robotic dialogue and grammatical/spelling errors ('you're' not 'your' and carat, not karat). The latter

To get through what her ex did to her is astonishing. Mason is the perfect man with her no matter what. And is always there. Their love is so so pure I'm jealous. Every time they turn a corner they have something horrible happen but in the end its seems to work out. Till you read the cliff hanger to this one. Now I need to read the next book in this series. Must read. Great story line.

I liked the characters

I chose the four star rating because it was a good story and kept your interest. But, the writing seemed more like reading someone's diary. Also, I was so upset that the first book ended right when it was the climax to the whole story. The next book was the same way, it just left you hanging. That was the purpose, so you couldn't wait to buy the next book, but it's pretty predictable, so I don't think I will buy the third book, it's a trilogy and I'm just sure that at the

Not quite as angry, now that I know it is part of a trilogy. I honestly think that she could have written it in one book. I still don't like the fact that you get to the end of the book and it just stops...The characters are good, the relationships are shaping, there is conflict and hopefully in the last book of the trilogy, there will be a resolution to the conflict.

Love it

Angel and Mason are so right for each other - angel has been through horrific things with her ex Jim luckily he is no longer an issue - now we only need the answer to Mason's question.

This book is much better than the first with a twist I didn't see coming. Still not liking the writing style.
