If you had to describe Minka Santos, it would depend on who you asked. To wives, she’s a home-wrecking, gold-digging whore. But to their husbands she’s the best they ever had. To her family, she’s simply Minka: a girl whose mother swept her under the rug so no one will ever know about her or her absentee father. Minka lives the life most want: nice car, house and endless amounts of money. But is she happy?
As always, when one door closes another one opens. Just when Minka gave up on love, she meets a Micah. Micah shows Minka that a man should value his woman and she was made to be a wife. While falling head over heels with Micah, will everything come crashing down when Micah finds out about her past? Or will Micah also have a couple of skeletons in the closet as well?
Follow Minka down a road of finding herself. Will she ever find out who her father is or has he been closer to her all along? Will Minka finally find her role as a Wife or will she remain Ain’t no Wifey?
Usually when I read a book I catch a few errors, 3-5 on average. This book is a catalogue of really bad writing and grammatical torture. However, the story line is great. It took quite some time for the writer to make the story tie together but once he did I was definitely wanting to read more. I would have given a higher rating if I felt the was a reasonable excuse for so many errors in this book, it came off pretty careless and annoyed me. Still a good story nonetheless!
But personally when I’m reading books I prefer to read stories that are more like real life. I mean there’s a such thing as fiction and there’s a such thing as fake. Not only was the story way too fast but these characters were just.... so unreal. First of all, stories where prostitutes find true love and happily ever after just don’t sit well with me. Minka was essentially a paid hoe. Now I don’t know where other readers are from but from where I’m from. No man is going to wife a paid hoe. Now if the setting was different say if the story was based on a planet somewhere in space and Micah was an alien falling in love with a prostitute would be more believable. But We’re in Cali, New York, and Florida and Micah plays in the NFL, so no there was no believe-ability in this book. And that’s not even the worst of it. WHYYYYY in these books is there always this woman who believes that he is “Her man” when he’s barely even acknowledging her? That’s Sasha and yes, she’s as crazy as roach with raid sprayed on it. But then it gets even crazier, Sasha has a sister Megan and they both share a business together and a eating disorder. But wait there’s more...Sasha hooks up with a dude who’s even crazier than her. He’s beating her ass and she’s laughing at him, and they both sitting around this big ass dark ass house. Now I don’t want to spoil it for whoever wants to read so I’m done telling some of the crazy shit even though there’s sooooooooooooo much more.
Back to what I was trying to explain earlier it’s not a bad book, so I gave it 4 stars. Think of it in terms of movies. You have blockbusters and you have low budget films. This book is the low budget film. They can still be good which it is but it’s like wowwwwww realllllly???
Not doing my usual rating system because honestly I don’t feel like doing the math. If the book had been really good or really horrible I would have but 4 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Got to see how this foolishness ends...on to part 2.
I wasn't feeling Minka she's shallow and selfish. As superficial as she is she's ironically a good person. She was just dealt a hand that leaves her living a reckless lifestyle simply to be able to live a comfortable life. One thing that evident is that Karma is so present and does make sure to visit each character. Ant wait to read the next installment.
To say I’m disappointed is an understatement but you get what you ask for in these pop-up authors who can’t tell a story to save their lives. I thought this would be okay but the more I read, I felt the dumber I got.
I thought this would be about Minka and the many men she slept with. I appreciated being able to get a glimpse of each characters life and their story. The ending was a cliffhanger so now I have to see what happens next. I for sure thought Julz was dead.
When I say the lies, the drama the whorish ways and betrayal is all up in and through this read then that's what I mean. One click and get your drama on.
OMG, Jahquel J. you did that! I absolutely loved this book! The drama & deceit in here was crazy! I loved Minka but I hated what happened to her, you have to pay for your actions no matter what turn around you make. ...it's life! That Damon Sasha ...Lord, I can't stand her hating psychotic ass! Micah. ...I hated he reacted the way he did, but could you blame him? I just can't wait to read part 2 to find out what will happen in this jaw dropping page-turner! Great job hun, looking forward to reading your other titles. ...this one was my first & you did not disappoint!
Micha & Minka are the ideal couple and now have baby Miley. Though she didn't have the best relationship with her mom Morocco, she was loved and raised by her grandparents. Sasha is a delusional female that believes Micha is her man. Now she is suing him for assault-she gave him head. Also for denial of her unborn baby (test tube) and has her fiance Byron as her lawyer. Time to read book 2 so we can see what happens next.
Not knowing the reason that she was given up at birth. Minka was raised by her grandparents. Once she was out on her own she started using her assets to live a lavage life. She mets Micah and falls in love. Eventually her past catches up with her. This book has all the element of surprise. One click and enjoy. Part 2 next.
I've read this before and it just gets better to me .....SASHA is one sick chick she really is one of the craziest characters I've ever read .....love the sisters feel sorry for their beginner ....Rape is a hateful crime and it's affected the lived of Morroca and his children.....
Minka should of explained her past to Micah before anyone else. He should of realized Minka didn't want him for his money cause she truly did Love him. Lisa and Sasha are gold diggers who need a beat down.
I loved the book so, much I read it in two days the characters were bold and the storyline kept me on the edge of my seat and I can't wait till book 2 cones out
