A fun way for children to learn about farm animals and the sounds they make! Old MacDonald (played by Vinko the Bear) is having a typical day on the farm: he feeds the chickens and collects their eggs as the hens “cluck-cluck;” he milks a cow as the other cows graze in the pasture and “moo-moo;” he shears the wool off a sheep as the other sheep envy the newly shorn sheep’s ...more

Sing and Learn?

I was very disappointed with this book because I was expecting an interactive media book with singing and sounds. Many other books are interactive and are thoroughly enjoyed by children. Why they would mislead by calling this a sign and learn book boggles the mind....at any rate the only singing has to come from the reader...not the book.

Subtitle: a fun way to learn about farm animals and the sounds they make.

Old McDonald, who is a bear, has cows, pigs, sheep, and chickens on his farm. The text is superimposed on double spread full-color cartoonish illustrations. The illustrator has injected subtle humor into some of the pictures which can stimulate conversation.

This is a simple but engaging book for toddlers.

Nice book for toddlers and preschoolers. The illustrations are large and children are encouraged to imitate the sounds. There is a link to a website with a recording but do not think that this book provides the music. Parent and child will need to sing the words together or visit the link.

Still a well done and pleasantly lllustrated edition in my opinion.

Another classic and hit with the little one. He enjoyed trying to make the sounds as we sung the song together.
