Merritt Chaos. Merritt isn’t sure how the locals have survived without killing themselves, but he’s starting to understand why the fates decided he needed to help with the portal. He’s a nurse. Yes, fate was brilliant with pairing mates and keeping excitable dragons from killing themselves on a regular basis. Luckily for fate and his newfound mate, Merritt is ready for a few changes in his life.
Pierce Chaos. Pierce isn’t sure how anyone in town survives the chaos they create on a regular basis. As a lawyer nothing should surprise him, but he’s doing his best not to pull his hair out when the fates decide to reward his patience with a precious gift. His mate. His adorable little mate, who luckily for all involved, has fallen in love with the craziness. When a frustrated lawyer meets a little whose job in life is to save his Daddy from bad manners, two lonely lives will never be the same…and neither will the portal.
Merritt, a nurse, and Pierce, a lawyer, find themselves navigating the chaos of a quirky town filled with excitable dragons and unpredictable locals. Despite their differences, fate pairs them as mates, bringing unexpected changes to their lives. Merritt embraces the town's eccentricities, while Pierce struggles to adapt but finds solace in Merritt's charm. Together, they form a bond that not only transforms their lives but also impacts the mysterious portal they are destined to protect.
I enjoyed this story with the fated mates who met, mischievous locals with their use of spells and the question of what to do about the portal. The littles were suitably mischievous and there were lots of fun discussions. I'm still chuckling at the question in the cafe about whether people are "Team Pony" or "Team Binkie". Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.
I liked this book. 3.5 stars for rating, 2.5 for spice. I enjoyed the overall plot with them meeting with the other councils and making plans for that thing in the woods. But relationship wise and personality wise, things are fairly similar/repetitive from prior books. There are minor differences, and I really enjoyed Merritt putting that female mage in her place when she tried not-so-nice shenanigans, but I did struggle to get through this one a bit after having just read the rest of them back to back.
This is a great addition to the Blue Ridge Magic series. We meet another fated couple, dragon Pierce and mage Merritt, who have a cute grumpy/sunshine thing going on. We get a bit more information about the nosy townspeople and learn a lot more about the portal and the missing pieces of history. I like this series and its silly characters, and I appreciate the humor and heat in all the books. This one is no exception!
Merritt and Pierce's book is so much fun! I love everything about it, the way they meet, how "mates are always compatible", the growth of their relationship, and how their mate bond grows stronger every day. I also love the chaos of having silly visitors and naughty town people, and naughty friends from previous books. This book is so good, you should totally read it.
I enjoyed Pierce and Merrick’s story and I’m looking forward to their future adventures. I gave this book a 3.5 (rounded up to 4) because I kept getting confused about who was who and whose point of view was being shared at multiple points throughout the book. I don’t recall experiencing this in other books and can’t explain why it was a problem here
There is a central thread with this series, so I recommend reading the books in order. The various councils have sent delegates to find out what is happening with the portal. The problem is that the visitors are not sure how to handle the locals, but a few are embracing the chaos. Merritt is amazed that anyone survives, but finds his mate in the publicly buttoned up lawyer Pierce, saving him from not only being rude but also from several spells aimed his way. These two are perfect for each other, I did find some bits a little repetitive and the writing felt to me, had slowed down the whole book, so found myself finding it hard to keep reading through, however I did find this book enjoyable overall in the end. I would recommend even if it's not my personal favourite.
The hysterically funny insanity continues! This installment was a sweet romance between two men sent by their local councils to solve the issue with the portal. It’s a daddy/little dragon/mage pairing, and we see some differences since they are from out of town, but no one escapes the locals, and it’s a fun romp with a lot of love and an HEA!
I love both main MC’s but so wish their story was a little bit longer. I need to know what else happens for them. The mage taking care of his daddy and not letting him lose his temper was so adorable. The daddy taking care of his little mage and providing the best for him was so worth it.
This series is full of the funniest characters who are all a little bit insane. The main characters in this installment are more sane than most, but they are not from the town originally, so that accounts for a lot. As they work to solve the portal problem, they come together in a sweet way. Funny!
Really good story with lots of laughs. This one is just as good as the rest of the series. I would recommend reading them in order so you know who everyone is
Holy cow this was the best one yet. Even though it left me wanting Wren’s story like yesterday it gave the most information about the world. We get to know more about the crazy town and much more appreciative of their kind of crazy. Amazing from start to finish.
I absolutely loved this story. This world is so wonderful and all of the characters are so funny and fascinating. This was a really fun and sweet read and I loved these two together. I can’t wait for more books in this series.
Merritt and Pierce come together to solve a problem. Being mates is a wonderful thing for them as they compliment each other perfectly. The people of the town and their antics is something Merritt enjoys while Pierce could do with less of their nosiness. A story full of laughs, a variety of shifters and a continuing story arc which makes this best read in order of series.
A brilliant series full of endearing characters and heartwarming moments. Great setting with a unique paranormal storyline that had me captivated throughout the series. Highly recommend
