A sexy, fun chick-lit book about a second chance at first love.
They were best in their class, they were best friends and then they just became the best at what they did, separately.

When Ben decided to pursue his career on the other side of the country over a year ago, he didn’t just want to succeed professionally, he was also willing to risk his friendship with Beth to succeed in love.

Having parents that gave her a poor example of how a workaholic couple could alienate themselves and

I love a good office romance. The excitement of the this could mean the end of someone's career if the relationship fails, or what if one of them wants a deal but the other does two and it comes down to the relationship or the deal?

Guaranteed excitement! In the new J.K Coi read we get to know Elizabeth Calson and Ben Harrison. They use to be friends, coworkers and ALMOST lovers. But this all happened before Ben suggested they mix business with pleasure which sent Elizabeth running for the hills,

Elizabeth Carlson and Ben Harrison used to be friends and fellow students - but in one move everything changed. Now they did not have contact for more than a year and meet again at an convention as competitors. The spark which Liz tried to deny and Ben could not ignore is still there ... but now the stakes are much higher

this was a hot story about second chances and how being afraid don't change your life for the better. the story is about giving love a chance and but also about, if you take the

This is a story about getting over fear to love and I really enjoyed this one. Beth is a very bright student with parents that only think about their careers they have no time for their children and this leaves a strong mark on Beth and her brother Daniel but Beth does really well at college and has her best friend Ben that she can turn to but when Ben attempts to change things with one kiss and the offer to move to New York with him the fear hits Beth and she says no. I got this book at the Toronto Book fair, when I got the privilege to met the author and have the book signed. As my sister and I was walking passed the booth the cover caught my eye, and I said "Now that is a cover to catch my attention and make me wanna read whats inside!" and we both giggled as I fanned myself over the hot guy and abs on the cover. Then the author start talking to me and I go all...Holy Crap a published author is talking to me and I have nothing to say..

Elizabeth Carlson has always been afraid to take a chance on love. When Ben Carlson had asked her to come with him to New York, she refused. Time passed and they both work hard to be successful. Now they meet again at a business convention. Will she give love a chance even though he is the competition? I enjoyed this entertaining and sensual story. I especially liked Ben. He is a charming and compassionate hero. He understands Elizabeth's emotional turmoil and wants to be there for her. Their ro ...more

Ok...the first hurdle is actually wanting to turn the page away from the cover. After wiping the drool off my chin, I proceeded to enjoy the story of Liz (Beth) and Ben. They have history, as friends and as almost lovers. A turning point from which the friendship kind of faltered and they lost touch. A chance (well...they are in the same field) encounter prove that the feelings (friendly and amorous) are still there...and they pursue it...

Beth and Ben were best friends until one year ago when he left for New York without giving news for the whole year. Before leaving, he asked her to come with him, but Beth is afraid and pushes him away. Both succeed in their respective companies and now it's time for the grand show-down at a convention where they compete for the same investors. They have to learn to trust each other, not an easy task when your financial futures depends on keeping your secrets.
The story is well written and quick

This book was really good. Beth and Ben were both excellent characters and I loved reading them. I must say this book to me a little while for me to really get into it but once I did I couldn't put it down. I expected a lot of hot sex and while it does have a little there's more story lines then sex so that's not a bad thing when the storyline was as good as this one. All in all this was a great book and I'll definitely read more of J.K. in the future.

I've known how awesome JK's writing is since we had steampunk stories in the same anthology, A Clockwork Christmas, a couple of years (or more?) ago. But I had no idea she could make driving a speedboat sexy!

And that's as close as I get to a spoiler :)

Enjoy this escapist but emotionally real romance with its sizzling chemistry between Liz and Ben. I loved Ben and I understood Liz's insecurities.

Wow, this book went a lot deeper than I thought it would. This is not your average fluffy romance. They were so many different aspects to this. The technical stuff went right over my head, but I appreciated that it was included. A workplace romance should have people doing actual work.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

A great second chance story. Well written, with intriguing characters and a great storyline. She lived her life afraid of taking chances so when he asked her to take a chance with her heart she couldn't do it. When they are reunited at a week long convention can things work out when they are competing for the same things?? A great book I would highly recommend.

Ben and Elizabeth are awesome. This is my first by this author and looking forward to more. Also want to read more of this series.
Liz and Ben been are old friends. They went to college together and then shared one amazing kiss. They decided to part ways after that. A little over a year later they see each at a conference. She's changed a little and Ben loves it. There paths cross when a conference speaker cancels and they are asked too take their place. They both agree. Spark

I like that the heroine is a super smart and confident in her ideas. The drama was a bit over the top, the twist that forced them to work together was contrived. Despite all this, I enjoyed the story.

This one got off to a bit of a slow start for me. The first half was full of both Elizabeth and Ben doubting themselves and their feelings and trying to justify what they felt as something they needed to get our of their systerm - an island fling. Deep down they both know it's more, they were just incredible stubborn and refused to admit it. There were a handful of very memorable scenes in the first half. Their snorkeling expedition and "hanging out" in the boat afterwards were very fun and exci ...more

Entangled Indulgence titles can be just as steamy as Brazen books, and I had forgotten about that until I read In Bed with the Competition.

The summary of this book is pretty spot on. I liked the different spin Coi put on the friends to more genre, twisting it to enemies to lovers. Both Elizabeth and Ben were fun characters and they were sizzling hot together. Ben was relentless, and I loved him. I didn't love some things that happened, i

The writing is fast paced, but the dialogue is witty and fun. The story does a good job of setting out history and the supporting characters are well rou

This is a chick lit second chance romance. It was good.

Beth has had to deal with her parents, where their careers were more important than their children. Of course this leaves things for Daniel and Beth a little difficult.

Ben and Beth were friends and almost lovers. He wanted to be more and start a company while exploring what they could have but she refused. Now a year later, they are both making huge stride in making their respective companies successful.
