I loved the simple earthy recipes presented in this book. Lisa Cowden has a comfortable way of writing that inspires health and homemaking without resorting to guilt or preaching it at you. The recipes are largely, though not exclusively, vegetarian. Usually I prefer having a picture of the final dish so I know what I'm aiming for, but the descriptions of the recipes sounded delicious and I didn't miss the photos too much. You feel more wholesome just reading this book and I intend to buy my own copy and utilize the recipes in my own home.

The perfect cookbook for easy-to-make, impressive, unusual meals for company, birthdays, or anniversaries. Almost every recipe contains an ingredient list that is obtainable for those eating seasonally. Also an excellent source for unusual salad dressings, for those of us who are on a mission to dispel prepared foods from our diet.
