15 years ago, I was a big fan of U2.

This was THE book to get when you were a big fan of U2.

So I got it.

...

I sure as hell have outgrown that part of my fannishness.

(Not that replacing it with pretty boys driving around in muscle cars is a grown-up replacement.)

I guess you never really outgrow being a fan. :-)

Although quite dated by today's standards this book is the epitome of what the mid-90's were for both U2 and the fans. Nonetheless Faraway So Close is a great collection of stories and rare photographs of the band.

Am I the only person who finds BP Fallon kinda creepy? In any case, his writing alternately amuses and wearies, but it at least really puts you in the moment. That said, don't expect anything remarkable in that department - the pictures are really what you're here for.

There are great quotes and pictures of the band from their Zoo TV tour. For fan it's a good one to have.
