A great read that keeps your attention from beginning to end. FYI...Don't start at night lol you won't be able to put it down.
Fantastic book, with characters that have realistic emotions, dreams and lives. Sam was a sniper in the Marines until a career ending injury forces him out. He's determined to overcome the injury and get back in, but in the meantime a friend has asked for his help. Roth (A Better Man) is now the police chief in a small North Carolina town. He recently discovered that one of his deputies was a dirty cop, and is worried that there may be others. He wants Sam to come work for him, undercover, and c ...more

Easy reading romance novel - part of a series but read as stand-alone.

If you don't want to stay up way longer than you should, do NOT crack this book open. I couldn't put it down. Deputy June Jones is the best officer in little Quincey, NC. Everyone in town loves her, except her preacher father, who refuses to forgive her sins, committed innocently in Raleigh when she didn't realize the snake was already married.

Sam Rivers is a Marine with a career-killing injury. A former buddy begs him to help him find out if his deputies are dirty by going under cover. The prob

June Jones has moved back home. She loves it, but her humiliating reason for returning and her father’s obvious displeasure temper her love of being there. She is, however, the kind of lawman she wants to be. Former Marine Sam Roberts is there for an entirely different reason. He’s recovering from his wounds, but has been told he’ll never have the eyesight to be a sniper again. Which means his career, his future and basically his life is over. Needing time to heal, a former commander offers him ...more

Really liked this one! Never read anything by Emilie Rose before, but have added her to my "read more by" list. She does characterization really well - I bought their motivations and their logic. This is a huge deal for me - if I don't buy that your characters could be real people I'm not interested.

The story centers around a recently discharged US Marine and a local cop; both of whom aren't exactly emotionally available at the beginning of the story but who grow into themselves and each other.

"Nice, quirky small-town characters make for a charming read. The mystery of June’s trouble with her judgmental pastor father saves the story from being too light" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars).
