Jesus was our model and teacher in prayer. By His life and His lips our Lord's constant fellowship with the Father pointed to the necessity of ours. But Jesus didn’t pray merely as an example to us. For thirty-three years, He lived as a man, tempted in all points like as are we. He prayed because He had to pray. He prayed because He must.
In this 50th anniversary edition of The Power of Positive Praying , Dr. Bisagno expands this classic work with eight new chapters on prayer.
If the Son of God prioritized prayer, how more must we? And His prayers were answered as will be ours, if like Him we pray in His Will, in His Word and in Faith. For that’s the power of positive praying.
I read the newly released 50th anniversary edition. This book is terrific and simply stated, should be read by every person with a desire to see their prayer answered. I have been a Christian for decades and reading the bible for as long as I can remember. No where at any time was I exposed to the principles stated so completely and effectively in this book. This book is clear, easy to understand and never tries to be more than what the book's intention is-teaching effective prayer techniques and principles and encouraging the reader no matter where they are at in their journey.
I have been reading a good amount of materials on Prayer lately, PUSH was a good biblical explanation of Prayer. THE POWER OF POSITIVE PRAYING surpasses that work easily. The scriptures used and ideas expressed are right on point and easily understood. I am reserving commentary on the substance of this book as I hope all read it. This book is definitely worth the investment in terms of time and money. I have begun using some of the principles and have already gotten positive results. Could there be any stronger recommendation?
This book is written in an older style that might put you off, don’t let it. It is an inspiring book that has come from the hands of someone who has lived a full prayer life for many, many, years.
This edition is a re-write, from a more mature perspective, years after the original edition. It is not a generically spiritual book, it is Christian. The author was a pastor and a missionary.
The Power of Positive Praying is a complete manual on prayer, it provides many examples, methods and prayers.
It borders on prosperity theology, something which I am not comfortable with, but that doesn’t take away from the overall value of the book.
In these pages the author gives some valuable interpretation on the original Greek about the meaning and practice of prayer.
This is a great book for those who have some experience with prayer, and it would be a great start for those wanting to begin.
The overall impression this book leaves you with is that the reason and purpose of prayer is to connect with God.
This is a great update to Power of Positive Praying. I read this book when I was 14, and it stayed with me. The book has new chapters that expand on older ideas. The new chapters add to the core ideas of prayer and help ius see prayer as an integral part of our spiritual life. I recommend this book for new and mature Christians alike.
This book needs to be taken in SLOW, because there's a lot of scriptures "worthy" study material in here. The only reason why I did not give it a 5 stars was that I sometimes felt this updated version was a little bit outdated... Through it all though, we can feel the love of Jesus and the guidance he had on one of his shepherds. Thank you Bro John. If I can't hug you here, I 'll squeeze you hard when we meet eye to eye in the Kingdom. With love. Mario
