When a no-nonsense ad exec collides with baseball’s hottest star, sparks fly faster than his fastball in this sizzling baseball romance!
Working in magazine production, Casey Branigan is used to pitching ideas—not catching feelings. Her big-city career is steady, her love life is stagnant, and everything feels stuck in neutral... until a photo shoot throws her a curveball in the form of one irresistible athlete.
Tyler Hammond, major league pitcher and media darling, is cocky, charming, and ridiculously attractive—the kind of guy who makes headlines on and off the field. When he steps in front of Casey’s camera, the sparks fly faster a stolen base. What starts as flirtation quickly turns into something steamier than the dugout during a heatwave.
Soon, Casey finds herself swept into a whirlwind of stadium lights, private jets, and stolen kisses between innings. And as Tyler racks up win after win, their chemistry only heats up. But with the cameras always watching and pressure mounting, Casey starts to wonder: is Tyler really falling for her—or is she just his good luck charm?
When the streak ends, will their romance go into extra innings—or strike out for good?

2 Underwhelming Stars
The Hot Streak unfortunately didn’t work out all that well for me. I love contemporary romance, baseball stories. There’s always a little bit of magic in a good baseball romance. Rather than feel the magic for this title I just felt put off. It seemed farfetched and unrealistic to a point where I couldn’t help but skim through some pages. The characters made a connection earning the two star rating. I enjoyed how the characters met. There wasn’t a big, angsty chase but more of a romantic, fun entanglement that could have led to a more interesting story for me. As they began to delve deeper into each other’s lives the relationship and plot went places I just couldn’t get into and place. Some of the characters actions drove me crazy. The inevitable conflict came out of nowhere and the almost immediate resolution happened in a way that didn’t seem natural at all; where they were and how they were communicating. The very end got back to the cute, fun part of the story and made me interested in how the couple ended up. This story overall just wasn’t for me. Nothing blew me away and made me stop and really indulge in this. But if you like baseball romances, give it a shot maybe you’ll find The Hot Streak is for you.
I really would give this book a 4.5 because of the amazing chemistry between the main characters after about the first 15% of the book. It looses a little bit of points because at first there is little chemistry between them and Tyler's lines seem really cheesy or unfeeling at times. But after the book picks up, it is so completely romantic and sexy. Tan did a great job of integrating baseball into the plot while letting it smoothly flow into a romance. Great read overall!

Good, fun read. I'm a baseball fan, which is part of the reason that I bought the book but you don't have to be to enjoy it. Casey has no knowledge of the game but she learns a few things on her way to her and Tyler's HEA!

The Hot Streak is a sweet, enjoyable quick read that I got in and read in one sitting.
Casey is the normal, everyday woman, Tyler the superstar sportsman. You kind of know how the story is going to go, but it was a fun ride getting there. At first I didn't really feel the chemistry between Casey and Tyler - maybe if we had gotten to read the part where they initially met, not later that day?, I might have felt it more.
But after about the firt 20%, the chemistry, sexual tension, lust was off the charts, and I really got into their relationship. It did feel a little rushed though (probably to do with the bit about coming in after they met), but this is all part and parcel of a short book I guess. And the resolution of things at the end seemed super quick, then bam - the book ended. But this might just be me?
I could completely understand Casey's hesitance to get involved with someone in the public eye, but could also feel her pull towards Tyler. Oh, and I want a job like hers where she could take off at the drop of a hat for a few days, do it every week and still have a job lol!!
I admit I don't know much about baseball (it is not a huge sport here in Australia) but I didn't feel overwhelmed with "sports stuff".
This was the first book by Ms Tan that I have read, and would likely read more in the future.
I received this book through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I have rather mixed feelings about "The Hot Streak." I'm giving it 3 stars because by the time I finished reading it, I felt the good had out weighed the bad. The story begins with Casey, a normal everyday working girl on her way to a professional baseball game after being personally invited by the teams star pitcher Tyler Hammond. First off, I would have liked to read their actual initial meeting, I think that would have helped to establish the chemistry between them. I did rather enjoy both characters. Casey and Tyler were both funny and interesting and the sex scenes were plentiful, creative, and just plain hot. There was definite sexual chemistry, but it felt that the relationship itself was rushed and at times awkward. It was almost as though the relationship was based around the sex. When I, as a reader, began to think that, I felt relieved when the author worked this into the story, having the heroine bring this up as a concern. I think that shows that the writer was aware of what she was doing, which is always a good thing. I love a good sports romance, although I don't know very much about the actual sports. I think the author did a wonderful job of including and explaining all of the baseball jargon, and it is very clear that she did a lot of research and put in a lot of effort to make it all seem realistic.
The major problem that I had with the book was that through the book I kept waiting for there to be conflict, every good romance needs some conflict for the main characters to overcome. There were a few issues that I thought would turn into the major stumbling block that they would have to get over to reach their HEA,such as the money issue, but instead the author throws in a major complication, one that I did not see coming at all, and one that I can not tell you about without spoiling the book. Let's just say it came completely out of left field and would have been a deal breaker for me, but like in every good romance, Cecelia Tan, was able to have them work it out, in a believable, and very cute and sexy way. I'd have to say the end of the book was by far my favorite part. I loved the scene where Casey and Tyler finally hash out their feelings, it was very well written and creative. I think this would be a nice quick read for anyone who likes a good erotic romance.
The Hot Streak, A Baseball Romance, Cecilia Tan Review from jeannie zelos book reviews Cecilia has written lots of novels but the only ones I’ve read are the fabulous Slow Seduction books. I thought as I enjoyed them so much, maybe this would be a good read for me. Well, it is a good read, a fun HEA romance, a sweet story, but it doesn’t have for me that magic spark that the Slow novels do.....Casey is Ok as a heroine but a bit overly picky in her dates, even her friends seem to think so, and when she meets Tyler she’s questioning herself straight away whether its a good thing, is it going to be worth it? etc. instead of letting things develop. It seemed to me she wants to shape events, and then moans that they don't go the way she wants. She doesn’t really give people a chance to succeed without her pushing and prompting, and thinking it won’t work. Negativity reigns for her. . Tyler was a great lead, funny, caring, and enthusiastic about everything. He was a bit like an overgrown Labrador puppy, words spilling out of his mouth without though, impulse buys and actions...and yet you cant help liking him. Baseball I only know through novels – its not a big UK sport, reminds me very much of Rounders at school, though I know the States revere it! I’ve picked up a few terms from books, and a rudimentary understanding, and there wasn’t anything here that was overly complex to follow. I hate books where I'm so lost in the terms used that I can’t follow the plot, and although this is romance its sport based, and one needs to understand a bit of how people feel about the sport to understand Tyler’s actions. I liked the drama part, but it was a little understated for me, Casey seemed a bit harsh on judging the baseball side of their problems and for me, a bit lenient in the end of the other – to me – Huge problem. I’d need to know far more about that – it was a real shocker and I'd want to know why no one said anything earlier... Overall it was a fun read, but a one off. Stars: four. ARC supplied via Netgalley

I have to start by saying that I don't really care for Baseball, it is my least favorite sport. But for some reason I seem to really like books about baseball, go figure.
Tyler Hammond is a pretty successful professional baseball pitcher. At a photo shoot he meets Casey and is attracted to her and asks her out. Casey doesn't know anything about baseball but she knows a cute guy when she sees one and figures, "What the heck, a little summer fling might be fun!"
Soon Tyler is on a winning streak and Casey is going along for the ride. She loves spending time with Tyler and finds herself making trips to games she never could have imagined herself doing. The question is, is this a fling or something much more serious.
I really did enjoy this book, so why the three stars, mostly because of some of the surprises we learn in the book. I really hate to give spoilers away but to explain my feelings on this book I feel I must. So if you don't want to have anything ruined, skip this next part.
This is a really quick read and I did enjoy this couple even with some of the things that made me scratch my head.
I thought Tyler and Casey's relationship progressed a little too fast and then I thought that the problem Tyler didn't tell Casey had worked itself out too fast, I mean it also ended abruptly leaving you asking what happened with Tyler's situation? Tyler I loved his character, "he nuzzled in her ear as he spoke, as he stroked her. "Well, it is, but it usually refers to guys who are stingy with giving, if you know what I mean. I'm not one of those. If you want to come, just say 'Tyler, make me come,' or something like that." I liked the relationship Casey and Missy formed from the bonding at the ballpark. This was just an okay book for me.
Let me start off by saying I am a HUGE fan of baseball, and romance novels! So sports themed romance is right up my alley!! I was super excited to get a review copy of The Hot Streak from Netgalley!
I thought Tyler and Casey were an excellent pair - and found her attempt to follow the team for his sake endearing! And I loved the whole "it's only a hook-up" factor! But I definitely found Tyler more interesting than Casey.
Casey's refusal to factor in the baseball side of their problems drove me a bit insane, and is what knocked this down to 3 stars (from a solid 4) for me. She just seemed a bit stubborn and annoying at that point!
All in all? A great, quick read for fans of baseball!
Good story....Tyler a major league baseball pitcher meets Casey at a photo shoot that she was helping at & decides to ask her to go to a game. He's surprised that she shows up & is even more surprised when they click together. Casey becomes his lucky charm when she's at the games they win & he plays well. They both fall hard for one another but Tyler has a secret that gets let out of the bag by a sports writer & it changes everything for Casey. Casey now has to decide whether to forgive Tyler for the secret or move on without him. Can Casey forgive Tyler? Can he prove to her that he never meant to hurt her? Can they have a future together? Definite recommend to read.
"3.5 out of 5 stars! Casey meets Tyler (a hot shot baseball player) through her job and gets thrown into a whirlwind romance, but when Tyler's winning streak keeps getting hotter is the affection she see from him because of her "helping his wins" or is it true love?
This hot novel keeps you on your toes with its spicy scenes and drama. Yet what I loved most about it was Tyler with his happy-go-lucky look on life and infectious personality!"

I am a huge baseball fan which drew me t this novel in the first place. Once I started to read the book I instantly fell in love with Casey and Tyler. I also love the fact that the story wasn't like every other romance novel where the lead male character knew he was broken and wanted a woman to help fix him. Of course there was some drama but it was all put back together and written well. I also love how Tan used a lot of baseball terms and tied in so much of the game into the book!
I'm just not sure about this book. It had real potential but to me just sorta fell short. however I am giving it 2.5 stars.
Casey meets Tyler at a photo shoot and they start a wild ride of romance and sex which leads to the Hot Streak...however the drama that unfolds in the book just sorta gets shoved under the rug once it gets revealed...so I sorta feel that the book was just unfinished. The way it ended??? well I'm not even going to touch that either. I wasn't a fan at all.
The storyline is fun and light. The characters are very likeable. My only problem with the book is some things just didn't really think could happen and left scratching my head. Other than that I really enjoyed the book. Every now and again I looks to read books that don't have angst and drama in them. It's a short, quick enjoyable read.

Copy courtesy of Netgalley Quick easy read. Sexy I love a good sports romance.,this was a decent read but some of the baseball terminology was off. Other than that it was a good story; although it could have been longer. Tyler and Casey were cute characters. Their romance was pretty easy going until close to end where the big conflict occurs. It was resolved quickly.

I enjoyed reading this book. It is an easy to read summer romance book. The characters were fun and easy to like. I was left with a few questions at the end but overall, the story was good. I would recommend this book. Especially if you are a baseball fan like I am.
This was a cute little baseball book. It did border on erotica however but since that was part of the storyline it didn't bother me too much. Fairly short book. A lot of fluff. Nothing too deep. I'd recommend it for a light, happy read.
