The first time Tim met Javier, he was blown away by the attention. As an overweight, twenty-something virgin, he didn't often—actually ever—get a guy, let alone a hot one, pay attention to him. The problem, Javier is straight; yet he gives Tim mixed messages. Tim can’t get Javier off his mind, unless he is pursuing his love for theater—or talking with his best friend, Juli ...more

As I'm signed up to Rick Bettencourt's newsletter, I was fortunate enough to get to a copy of this before its release date, although the downside of that is I now have to wait even longer for episode 2!

In short, without spoilers, this is Tim's story, told in first person. He's an overweight gay guy who lives in New York, and he has a bit of a thing for Carolyn Sohier, a reclusive singer who's giving a must-see concert that Tim can't afford to go to, because of Javier (or J-man, as I prefer to ca
It's so bad that it had such a weak start- so weak I seriously considered DNF-ing it almost until I hit the 50% mark.

In the end it was nice and kind of funny (although sometimes the main character was kind of annoying). I may eventually want to give the rest of the series a chance. Maybe.

Was in the mood for foreign romance last weekend so I continued with this book. I got this for free during Pride Month this year and I thought it could definitely be a funny webseries. Tim as a chubby but delightful character works for me.

The writing is almost too concerned with the small and mundane details that I'm on the fence if I like that it really brings out the characters, or if I hate that it slowed the pace. I did, however, liked the characters and their banter. Tim is such a cute, ins

Warning for readers: this is more of an extended free sample of the series (or a long introduction) rather than a stand alone book.

I found the characters fairly well written, and I like the idea of an overweight MC -- sooo rare in romance novels -- but I found Tim to be shallow and more than a bit of a doormat. And there does not seem to be much chance of him changing that, with what has been revealed so far. It is hard for me to really care about what happens to him next. And since the whole p

This book is a book for light-reading and the kind of book I was looking forward to. No heavy terms and no big words. Simple. Just dwell in the main character, his dilemma and his obsession with a straight guy,

Just that currently, I am encountering several gay themed stories where a plus-sized guy could attract a good-looking guy and somehow, from my bitter experience, it is highly unlikely scenario. It makes it more difficult to buy the story. That said, I have to say that ignoring the imaginat

I picked this up to try this author's work and all I can say is I'm not the right audience for this story. Told only in Tim's POV, Tim has a thing for Carolyn Sohier a performer giving a once of a lifetime concert. He's obsessed with being able to see her and this part amused me a great deal. But the rest fell flat. I didn't care for the side characters and there is far too much focus on bodily functions. In addition I have no respect for people who have to call all strong women bitches. I started reading this not knowing what to expect. And hey, a short (and free) preview is always good no matter what, right?

That said, I have every intention of reading the rest of the book/series? whichever. It seems to be a light, quirky read, and all of the theatre references have me laughing as a fellow theatre nerd.

Tim is Adorable

Is Javier really straight?
What is going on at the insurance agency?
Why did Tim get appointed Project Manager after being there only a few days.
Will Tim make it to the concert?

Keep reading more episodes to find out!

Moving, wrenching story

This is a very good story about Tim and his relationship with life and his evolving friendship with Javier. The story is written well. I only wish the Happy For Now ending was actually Happily Ever After.

This is just a preview of the larger book. I liked the larger book (I thought this may have been a sequel or prequel)

I wanted to like this, but had a hard time liking most of the characters. I think Tim and his boss were the one's I'd be willing to spend time with.
