The scientific information offered welcomes those not yet familiar with crystal energies by providing a familiar frame of reference and also broadens the knowledge of those who come to stones primarily for spiritual purposes.
The Pocket Book of Stones includes a comprehensive index of the healing qualities and the emotional and spiritual properties of all the stones in the book.
The Judy Hall book was not in stock so I picked this up at the local metaphysical bookstore. And it does the job! Definitely recommend. Some of the crystals in my collection are not on here like aragonite but most of them are in here so I am happy with this as a quick reference on the origins of the crystal and some quick facts about its healing properties.
I also enjoy that it’s pocket-sized since it’s a pretty boring cover and spine. I don’t display it on my bookshelf but I have it either by my bedside table or on my work desk.
REVIEW: THE POCKET BOOK OF STONES.by Robert Simmons
This revised edition is a treasure and a gem (metaphorically as well as literally)! Gorgeously illustrated, with lovingly intuitive text, THE POCKET BOOK OF STONES REVISED EDITION tackles, with a viewpoint to cosmic consciousness, a subject of lifelong obsession for me: stones. I've collected stones as long as I've been conscious, and walk nowhere without scanning the ground for new pieces to collect. Now I can ponder beautiful photographic examples, while expanding my mind and Imagination. What a glorious opportunity!
I’ve had this book for years. It’s a fantastic reference for both scientific and metaphysical properties of stones. I’ve been working with crystals more in the past year and considering getting the full size version or Judy Hall’s bible series, but this book is truly a gem packed with information.
borrowed this from my neighbor many months ago LOL but this book is fantastic! very helpful within finding specific crystals for healing properties & whatnot. :)
I have been referencing this little book for the last 3 years since I have been working with stones in mala making and for my own personal use and meditations. Out of all of the other reference books and websites I enjoy this one the most and will keep in my personal library for years to come. The pages are dog-eared, highlighted, post-it'd...and the writing is really beautiful.
I work with Crystal semi-precious jewellery at work and this book will come in very handy. Customers are always looking for more information on the different stones. Thanks.
Amazing book about crystals. It gives so much information about each stone and the authors each give their own perspective and experience with each. I have both the Kindle and paperback. If you can swing it, I prefer the hard copy for this particular book.
Fantastic book to own as a rock and crystal collector. I love that I can look up not only the spiritual belief meanings but also the geology meanings and effects. Fantastic identifying book!
