My full name is Christeen Bauer, a 29 year veteran of radio broadcasting--writing, voicing and producing thousands of radio commercials has been my life. I was recently motivated to direct my creative writing toward helping my four-year-old grandson understand the difference between making up a story and telling the truth, the story line of my first children book, 'Out of Sight Must be Right?'

All of my Chodi Kid Books share fundamental challenges of growing up with the main character, Tommy, leading the way in colorful illustrations, rhyming dialog and lots of little boy attitude.

Every parent at some time or another has to deal with the issue of a child lying to them. Out of Sight Makes It Right? ,by Chris Bauer deals with this issue in a very thoughtful, kid friendly way. The illustrations and the way the rhyming text and dialog are presented reminded me of reading a comic strip, which I thought worked really well. But, that's not the best part. The best thing about this story in my opinion is that it allows the parent or caregiver to confront the problem of lying effectively in a very non-confrontational way.

Out of Sight Makes it Right? Isn’t it always the way – just a little white lie or a subtle bending of the truth won’t get us caught out but it does. In this lovely books, from C Bauer, hits the mark.
How many children will bend the truth a little to avoid being punished or not getting in to trouble? I know I did and just like Tommy and his dog, Paco, it didn’t work.

Tommy learns a valuable lesson when his behaviour disappoints his mother. She doesn’t have to chastise or punish him. Just knowing he’s done the wrong thing is punishment enough. Tommy takes matters into his own hands and makes amends.

I had to laugh because the opening pages looked like my grandson’s play room. Toys strewn everywhere and not an inch of carpet to be seen! But getting the toys put away is not always easy. Bauer shows us that this often tiresome chore can be a fun activity for everyone.

I love the fun illustrations. They are colourful and vibrant. Even as an adult I found them engaging. This book will look great in print and on any electronic device.

The rhyming will appeal to all ages. Children will enjoy having the book read to them and older ones, will enjoy reading it out loud. By using a poem, Bauer has ensured that more children will engage in the story better. This will also guarantee they understand the message too.

Many parents and children will relate to this book as it successfully captures a daily chore we all experience. I can highly recommend it.

Fun, rhyming story about Tommy and his dog Paco. Instead of cleaning his room, they stuff all the toys under the bed. Mommy is dismayed when she finds Tommy fibbing about the fact that he really didn't clean his room properly. Tommy reflects that he is feeling guilty over Mom's disappointment and makes an effort to do it the right way. Great book use to set up a practice of cleaning up the room before bed. Hilarious cartoonish mommy, I love her eyes. They add the the humor of the book.
